    1) Tanker, 100%. I have at least one tanker on every server, in just about every combination. There's something about being in the middle of 30 to 40 mobs, and surviving without any help (at the highest levels).
    2) Again, a tanker. My all time favourite is Ion Thrust, my Shield/Electric tanker. He wasnt my first 50, but is certainly the most indestructible, and blows through groups of mobs like a boss.
    3) The first Dominator I tried was Ice based, and was by far the worst survivable, least damaging character I've ever played. I have since started to really enjoy them, especially the Electric Control.
  2. Yeah, that was my problem, I waited too long to pick up Iron Will, and my main squad of 6 are all Colonels now, and the highest Will I have amongst them is 72. That being said, I've got my first batch of 3 in testing right now.

Its a really fun game, I must say. I played the **** out of the original (and still have it installed on my computer to fire up every couple months). The new interface is a lot easier to use, and I dont mind that they dumbed it down a bit.
  3. I was already paying $30 a month for 2 accounts, so adding a few extra dollars wouldn't bother me.

Is there a link to this Fire & Ice costume? I havent heard anything about (not that I've been concentrating that hard on upcoming stuff).
  5. Electric Armour would help with the high Endurance costs of the Titan Weapon set.
Stone Armour has always been highly durable, and with all the AoE in the set, it might work better than a single target set while solo or on a small team.

Both are Resist heavy armours, so they'd help your survivability when your Defence has been compromised.

I feel your pain, by the way. I cant stand auto-hit powers that floor your Defence, as my primary tanks tend to be Shield Defence (which, of course, is not available here).
  6. The guy I'm most interested in playing at the moment is my newest Shield/Street Justice tanker. Loads of fun, relatively high defences without much set IO investment, and the StJ animations and sound effects are so incredibly satisfying. Its quite the Endurance hog, though, especially when running the Fighting pool toggles as well. I'm frequently combining Inspirations into those little blue pills

Next up will either be Inv/TW or SR/TW, going for a natural barbarian look. Thank goodness they just came out with the Barbarian costume set

How is it an all Blaster/Corruptor team if it has a Mastermind on it? That would be like bringing a Defender on an all Tanker team, and still calling it an all Tanker team...
  8. Bah. Brutes dont have a weekly event that travels around the servers, and has done for 7 straight years and counting.
    Tanks are clearly superior
  9. Why is Claws/Stone not available for Brutes? I dont see any conflicts there, the way there is with Shield Defence.
  10. Well, then there's only one way to fix this... they must proliferate Spines to Tankers so I can remake the guy and keep my 2nd account safe

    Thanks, everyone.
  11. I was 'Trick or Treat'ing early yesterday morning on my Spines/Fire scrapper while duo'd with a Fire/Dark corruptor on a second account. Fire Blast was on auto (aimed at whatever I was targetting), and I had her drop Tar Patch before we opened the doors. I had all of my AoE toggles running, I was dropping Burn, and firing off the AoE attack as soon as it was available, as well as standard attacks. I was running at +0/x4, she was 0/1, one set of doors each per attempt.

For some reason, I could not stop her from getting killed. Despite all the damage being done, she was still drawing aggro away from me. Now, I know that I'm not a tanker, with the taunt in my auras, but it seems crazy that I couldnt keep 10 people from attacking her, with all that damage being done, to every mob in the group.

Anyone else notice any aggro irregularities?
  12. Sweet. 5 Tuesdays, plus the Saturday Euro tour. This is going to be a great tanking month
  13. Why not Electric Control?

Edit: Wait, now that I think about it, I dont think you can slot Sleep IOs (or sets) into the AoE sleep patch.

    Tank Help

First off, let me start by saying that the Tanker forum is a good place to go when asking questions about the Tanker archetype, which it doesnt sound like the OP is too interested in. For a more general discussion, there is the Archetype and Powers General discussion board, and then move down to the individual boards for Brutes and Scrappers once you determine which you'd prefer to play.

Secondly, if you're looking to tank by keeping the mobs distracted, Willpower probably isnt the way. It has a taunt aura that is probably the least effective of all taunt auras. While teamed up with WP Tankers as a lowbie Tanker (as happens frequently on all Tanker events like the weekly Tanker Tuesday tour) I have to take great care when jumping into a large group, or I wind up having too many switching targets from the tank, and focusing on me.
This is most common when playing as a Shield or Ice tanker, as they seem to have some of the most effective taunt auras (plus the extra damage that shield is able to put out).
  15. Hmmm, I think I might sit this one out. Triumph is my villain server, and its full. I cant justify opening an extra slot for a tanker that I'll only use once or twice a year.

    TWO bats auras?

I'll have to put in a bug report, then, as I've wasted that 2nd selection on more than one character. There should be a message or something saying that you already own this Aura, so that people dont mistakenly take the option when they cannot benefit from it.

    TWO bats auras?

I think you all missed what the OP was saying.
As part of the Halloween Costume Pack, for sale on the Paragon Market, you get an aura called Bats. A Bats Aura is also available as a reward from doing the House of Horrors trial.

The question was, are these two auras the same, and thus are you wasting a selection by taking them when you already have it through the the costume pack that was purchased from the market.

And the Wardens? they're just extrapolations Of existing archtypes/powersets made in the standard NPC fashion of the time.

Besides, we could use some Praetorian oriented EATs before another Hero one.
My suggestions for PEATs have always been their version of the PPD.

The I see the PPD having a Power Glove primary power set, with their mixture of damage, sleeps and holds, paired with some sort of Power Field armour set (as their armour appears to be some sort of energy field that covers their body, similar to the Victorian Decore auras).
  19. My Virtue tanker is only 18, so the only TFs I could do are Posi or Synapse. And Synapse is looooooong.

Of course, it does put me one step closer to TF Commander, and is good XP, so...
  20. This is actually no longer true.
The animation times have been standardized so that the time it takes to draw your weapon is actually removed from the animation time of the attack going off.

If you dont have your weapon out, the shortened animation will play.
If you already have your weapon drawn, the standard animation will play.
  21. I'll be there, but I might be a bit late.
  22. One of the Paragon Rewards Tier 7 choices gives you a power called Experienced. Claiming the power from the Account Claim tab of the Email window creates a temporary power in your Powers window called Experienced, which gives half a level's worth of Patrol XP each time it is clicked, up to 5 uses. Once the power is used for the 5th time, it disappears from the Powers window.

The perk does not get removed from the Account tab of the Email window, however, and can thus be claimed multiple times.

The problem seems to be that if you claim it once, and then claim it again before the initial 5 charges are used, the perk then disappears from the Account tab of the Email window and can no longer be claimed.

If the perk can be claimed multiple times for each character (as seems to be the case from the current implementation), is there a way to trigger the perk to appear in the Account tab of the Email window? Can I put in a support ticket to have this fixed?

Or is the issue that the perk should only be claimed once per character?

My kat/wp brute will be capped to melee/lethal, e/n, f/c with holes in smashing, ranged, aoe etc. How effective will this be? I can only think of a few attacks that might use smashing/ranged without some other energy attached. Am I missing something major?
I just want to make one clarification on your post.
When talking about Defence, Smashing is a damage type and Melee is a positional type.

Smashing is 99% linked with Lethal when it comes to Defence. Powers might do either Smashing or Lethal damage (or both), but in terms of typed defence, powers or IO Set bonuses that defend against one will always defend against the other.

Also, depending on your AT, and Primary/Secondary power choices, you will either build towards Typed or Positional defences with your powers and IO set bonuses, so its normal to have a lot of one and much less of the other.

I cant help but agree with this, as Earth/Storm is such a fun combo to play. Its a bit rough going solo, as ST damage tends to but low even with Containment,if you can get at least one other person with you (preferably a damage dealer), you'll simply rip through mobs with no need to worry for your own safety.
  25. That's not likely to change, by the way. Two handed weapons are forced to be used left handed due to the standard combat stance.

This is the same reason that the Katana is wielded left handed (despite the historical fact that left-handedness was not tolerated in Japanese culture during their medieval period.
