What to pair with Titan Weapons?

I want to make a Titan Weapons tank the day that hits, but I'm really torn about it. What primary works? If I want something crazy-durable, but still capable of being killy in an area, what's my path here? I made an Invuln on test, and it's nice but that psi hole has me worried about trials. I also made a Dark, and jumped into a +2/x8 Silos and got torn to shreds by Longbow, which had me very worried - why IO yourself to softcaps when they'll just cascade you down to -50%? I've already got a Willpower, I don't want another Willpower.

Advise me, tanker board.

Electric Armour would help with the high Endurance costs of the Titan Weapon set.
Stone Armour has always been highly durable, and with all the AoE in the set, it might work better than a single target set while solo or on a small team.

Both are Resist heavy armours, so they'd help your survivability when your Defence has been compromised.

I feel your pain, by the way. I cant stand auto-hit powers that floor your Defence, as my primary tanks tend to be Shield Defence (which, of course, is not available here).

Agreed. Electric isn't too clicky so redraw won't be much of an issue and endurance won't be an issue. You will have very high resistances (can cap S/L and will cap energy), you'll have a self heal and decent regeneration. You get a damage aura and you get soft mitigation with endurance drain (sap 80-90% endurance using power sink then drain the rest with lightning field). You get 20% recharge. Oh yes, and You also get decent psionic resistance (theoretically can cap this if you slot for it?).

Only downside to electric is no toxic resistance, no +max hp (so you'll never be able to cap your hp without outside help), and no defenses.

Nonetheless, I think it will be the best defense to go with titan weapons because of the extra endurance. Willpower might be up there too

Im doing Ice Armor/tw its got a great endurance boost with energy absortion and a great heal and not that hard to soft cap cant wait and has a damge aura

Wouldn't Dark Armor be the best pair?

My first will be re-working a FM/FA brute I exiled to Exalted into a FA/TW tank. EVERYTHING DIES EXCEPT FOR ME, MWAHAHAHAHA.

I'm still torn between Inv and WP for my TW tank. On the one hand, Inv fits his concept better, but on the other hand, I just finished an Inv tank and am currently running another and an Inv brute, so some variety might be nice.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

I'm probably going to reroll my Fire/SS tanker into a Fire/TW tanker. Probably better AoE capability plus a defense buff for a resist set? Yes please.

I am wanting to do elec or fire on my brute. It seems elec is better? It seems to have pretty much what fire has and an END mitigation. What am I missing here?

Elec/ vs fire/

Fire has a heal, available earlier on a shorter timer (though doesn't offer + regen).

Fire has burn (aoe attack)
fire has fiery embrace. (180 second recharge, adds + damage to every attack)

Basically, fire offers more damage

Larcen3 give the pros of fire, here are the pros of elec.

Elec has much stronger resists. If you build for it with the right alpha, Elec can constantly at the resist cap for SL and Elec, which are the two most common damage types. Also elec has noticeable psi resistance, which is a hole for fire.

Elec's heal is on a longer recharge, but it gives you very good regen for 30 secs and an end discount on every power you click. Combined with elec's recharge boost, that will let you spam the hell out of Titan's AoEs during momentum.

Speaking of lightning reflexes, not only does it give you a +20% bonus to recharge, it also gives you a 40% resistance to slows. This is huge for a resist set as debuffs will hit you more often than not.

Power Sink will refill your end much more frequently than consume, and as previously mentioned is a great survival increase through end draining.

In summary, Fire does offer more damage, but elec offers MUCH more toughness without giving up as much damage as might be assumed.

Yeah that's what I kinda thought about fire and elec. I just wanted to make sure. I think I am going elec on my brute; I've never tried elec armor before so why not. It seems a bit more sturdy and the slight damage difference isn't a big deal. I like the reduced clicks, END mitigation etc.

I will make both builds in MIDS and then reach my final decision!

I would, and will be, going WP or Elec.

Personally, I am stuck between WP and Stone Armor. I may end up making two different tanks and see which is the best over all.

There is alot of concern about the end usage of Titan Weapons, why not slot for end reduction? I plan to go Inv/TW for my tanker and I will just place at least 1 end reducer in each attack.

Yeah, I planning on either a Dark/TW Tanker, or TW/Dark Brute. The endurance issues may make me cry, but I figure if I just slot for EndRed early, and gift myself a Theft of Essence Proc, I should be fine.

I think that Ice might pair well with TW. It's not all that clicky (only two real click powers in the set that you'd worry about), and one of them gives you endurance back to keep swinging the big ole mallet.

I did ice/tw on test and that worked really well, but I'm leaning to something else for live. I'm already doing /elec on brute & /wp on scrapper... and those tend to be the two sets that best go with TV imho.

So, now I'm thinking Invul. Can get some pretty solid #s there and the aoe from TW makes up for the lack of dmg aura at least. Not to mention the defense stacking...

A Russian Imperial Stout. A good strong beer for a good strong attack set.

I'm conflicted as well.

I already have three Willpower characters (Tank/Scrapper/Brute), and I just hit 50 on an Electric Armour Brute, so I am looking for a change.

Thank you, Champion.

going to be going dark armor myself. Defensive Sweep seems to stack with itself and even without being slotted for defense, having two stacks of it is 30% melee defense. add in CJ, cloak of darkness, the steadfast unique, and some slotting on defensive sweep and i think i can get myself melee capped pretty readily.

...now to figure out if I can range/AOE cap, or at least make the soft cap with one luck. HMM.
