  1. It depends on side and mission. For example, the end of the new level 1-5 story arc for villains specifically has you disable the medical teleporter so the longbow you fight in the base will die.
  2. Ok, serious response.

I'm thinking of an Inv scrapper and an Ninjutsu stalker pending the i22 stalker changes. I'm not sure how much game time I'll have to devote to it though since I have been spending a lot of time in a galaxy far far away.

The Tendrils aura set to eyes only works well.

In order to be balanced against cloak of fear, it has to be worse than it. So same stats as cloak of fear without the - to hit buff.

At those stats it would be a terrible power.
  5. To the OP: I know you were asking for non-weapon sets, but I think Titan Weapons deserves a mention. There is NO redraw when momentum is up, allowing you to use click heals 80% of the time with no redraw cost. Combined with the huge amount of mitigation and aoe Titan brings to the table, it is a very good pairing with Regen IMO.
  6. Ice Armor is a good place to start as it has both Water(all the ice) and Air(Chilling Embrace) in the powerset. Earth and Fire can be done with Stone Melee with the Volcanic Lava skin. Pick Reactive interface to have the attacks actually do fire damage, and you are set without using any judgment or epic slots for theme.

I could go for that. We even already have the model in game. It's hanging from hooks next to one of the newspaper brokers in Port Oakes.

I could also go for a normal Scythe, although the Demon Axe model does allow for a Scythe concept that I used on my Grim Reaper toon.
  8. It also really depends on primary/secondary choices. Shield and Inv have VERY strong auras that can negate the need for taunt in many cases. Kinetic Melee has stronger than normal gauntlet radius and durations - focused burst is basically taunt on it's own. Titan weapons or fire melee put out so much aoe that it less necessary for the taunt power

That doesn't mean that taunt is should be skipped, but it does mean that some builds can delay it to level 49 and a single slot. and if they do decide to skip it, it doesn't mean they are a bad player, but are just not building for team tanking. A properly built tank can put out very respectable damage with the highest survival possible for a toon. I can't call building for that goal a bad thing, even if most of the player base doesn't agree that's what a tanker *SHOULD* be.

    .
References to comic books or movies are irrelevant to the discussion because there is no such thing as game balance in fiction. Even still, let's say Happy IS a tank. His moves consist of a few punches and the ability to take a hit. He sounds a LOT like a first level hero. Those guards were easily the equivalent of level 20 council at least. So say he was side kicked to Black Widow. Even with the level difference cancelled by side kicking, he still has brawl, and his tier one attack unslotted, and still manages to take out one of those minions.

That sounds like an accomplishment to me.
  10. Invoke Panic needs 12 SOs of enhancement to get to the point of barely adequate. It needs max slotting in fear duration, end reduction, accuracy, and recharge to be useful. While you can do that with IOs and hamis, it isn't a good return on investment even before you take into account you have to waste two power picks to overslot the thing to be usable.

I am thrilled that the devs are looking at overhauling presence. It's just broken as it is.
  11. Going from the new stalker EA, the taunt would be removed and invicibilty would be changed to a straight +def power. I would like to be typed to all but psi with a constant value equal to 3-5 mobs in invicibilty.

I agree with the idea of combining the passives, but I'd like to keep the end and slow resists more than the actual resists.

They are not useful at all. They can only affect minions, and have horrible endurance, recharge, accuracy, and duration. There is always a better power choice than presence fears. Always.

Would like to see a non-rocket powered hammer of some sort, an I-Beam or other industrial salvage parts, a telephone pole, and so on.

Finally, and I know this is unpossible, but I would love a weapon skin for TW that uses a body model from whatever group you are fighting as your weapon. Nothing says epic like beating your enemies with a fallen enemy.
I'd be happy if I could just get Snaptooth's throw a red cap power.
  14. Do we have confirmation that the proc justs adds a % to the fury generated by that formula? If the proc is applied before the operations of the fury calculation it could dramatically change the results. It also could be applying a flat fury gain per instance it fires (which seems like the way it SHOULD work). I trust Arcanavilles maths, but I haven't had a chance to actually test any of this.
  15. I haven't played enough high level KM to know the best attack chain, but what I did to maximize power siphon is to monitor your damage bonus. If power siphone is up hold off on using Concentrated Strike. As Hopeling said, CS has the highest DPA in the set, but it recharges so slowly that I like to make sure hit hits as hard as possible. To do that I don't hit CS until power siphon is fully saturated.

If you are outside of the PS buff though, use it when it's up.
  16. Fair enough, and musculature is a damage bonus. I just feel that agility gives you more freedom to soft cap without needing as many pool or io investments so you can pursue other goals with your build like hp and Regen.

Musculature won't help much with endurance, it alters end mod, not end red so all it will be boosting is stamina, physical perfection, and superior conditioning to give you a very small increase to max end and recovery. Also, the damage boost is underwhelming on brutes due to fury dilution.

Agility is a better choice for SR, as it heavily boosts defense, recharge, and still gives the little bit of end mod that you are getting from musculature. Otherwise if you need endurance management, nothing beats cardiac.

Yes, but personally, I find FFG doesn't mesh with my playstyle. I am very mobile when playing and the FFG follows so slowly I feel like it's a shackle to stay in range of it. No doubt, Traps is a far superior choice by the numbers for a debuff set with a personal shield and I'm sure I am in the minority, but I just don't like playing the set because of it.

Heh, that's what I thought. Concept wise, I like the TA/Sonic and Archery/TA the most. The defender is a mutant human/hornet hybrid and the pure archer is a natural with the name "Canyon Arrow". He even has a theme song which is a filk of the Simpsons Canyonero SUV song. I'll stick with both for a bit and make the decision then.

    Ho hum.
There is much more to the game than level 50 incarnate play. Being able to have mez protection at a low level is a very valid reason for sonic.
  21. I remember reading a comment on either one of the Pummit summaries or elsewhere on the boards that they were looking into a whip based assault set for doms, so it wouldn't surprise me.
  22. So I have been rolling a metric ton of new alts lately, and decided I want to finally level a trick arrow character to 50. I have made three characters that are contenders at this point: A fire/TA corruptor, a TA/sonic defender, and an Archery/TA corruptor.

I have leveled all three to the teens to get a feel for the sets. Fire/TA is obviously going the most damage and I can only imagine the carnage of rain of fire on top of oil slick.

The TA/sonic seems to have better survival due to higher debuff numbers, and the -res of the sonic attacks are quite nice. Not to mention howl is a great way to ignite the slick.

The archery toon has the cleanest feel and the freedom to mix attacks and trick arrorws without redraw, but seems the weakest set of the three and lacks the tools easily light the oil slick.

I'm just seeking input from players who have taken these sets which pairing they like most in the end game.

    Kheldian naming?

I had deleted my old PB but I have been wanting to try again, so here is a new concept I just rolled.

My "human form" Peacebringer is named Red Cap. He was a standard run of the mill Red Cap rascal named Throat Shot in Croatoa until he ran across a dying PB named Lethe that had been separated from it's host. The PB had the choice of joining with the Red Cap or dying, and offered to join with the Red Cap. Throat Shot saw the opportunity for power and accepted. Unfortunately, Red Caps aren't as suitable for bonding as humans and both Throat Shot and Lethe lost all memories of their former lives. Their minds became more closely joined than any other kheldian joining and created a new personality.

They took the name Red Cap as that was what someone screamed when seeing them stumble into town. The new personality has taken the path of the Hero, and now tries to protect the innocent by applying it's natural energy with the savage ferocity of a red cap.

Costume is close as possible to mimicking a NPC red cap in game. Huge body, minimum height, playing with head scale sliders, Santa Hat, and resistance beard.

    DM/?

Any secondary will go well with DM. The self heal covers the holes in any set that needs healing, and it has the best self damage buff of any set. On a brute DM I like fire, Elec, EA, and SR. I Like the added offense all of those builds offer in more damage, faster recharge, or both. Shield is better on a scrapper and I find the extra survival of inv unnecessary. As for dark armor, it's a thematic fit, but I think the perks of DM are wasted on a DA toon as you don't need an extra heal when you have dark Regen.
