How do you feel about the Incarnate System?

It's just the beginning, the tip, but I am excited by it.

Will anybody play their alts anymore? Or will you be bogged down in getting your alts to level 50 and be torn about which one to give time to?

I am constantly intrigued by the 9 other "slots" that remain to be unlocked and the potential they hold. I am curious if we will ever actually reach that point - that level - that we "play" ourselves in the first mission of Mender Ramiel's Arc. Is that the potential that all 10 slots will bring? Will I be making Ghost Widow eat floor as she cons yellow to me?

I am excited by what this system has to offer, and I imagine it is going to be a good, long while before all 10 slots are available, still, it's the journey, not the destination.

So far, I'm happy with it. It's not as grindy as I had feared, and what we've seen so far looks interesting. Plus, I get to advance some 50s that were more or less put in storage. I look forward to seeing what the future abilities are. I hope for a pet of some kind in one of them.

Alts are why I still play this game. Once I get a character to 50, I'm pretty much finished with that character. Oh, sure, I'll play them now and again just for the heck of it, nostalgia or whatever, but that level 50 ding means it's time to move on. Which means I have NEVER completed a build on one of my 50s. If I can't do it before they hit 50 - and without excessive grinding - it ain't happening.

So the Incarnate System is pretty much wasted on me. But that's okay. Inherent fitness will do for now. Maybe. I'll let you know as soon as I get my replacement video card.

Hmmm...I'm pretty bad at playing any of my alts once they hit level 50 as it is. My namesake has even been made over more than a few times.

I'm actually loving i19 so far because I havent really wanted to play any alts outside my main (which is back to my original namesake).

Didn't even rush the Incarnate story arc, set it up for AVs, and made my way through it solo, as the story arc screams SOLO to me, even if the one mission suggests bringing a team.

So that takes a bit of time, so I wasn't off to the TFs as fast as others who went -1/1 EBs, but I loved it all the more for it

Then ran a 7 Scrapper 1 Brute STF last night, to get 7 of them the incarnate component, and me the Hami-O I wasn't looking for!

Loving it. i19 has made people want to do the TFs I love to do Shweeeeeeeee!

Pretty much what Flarstux said. Level 50 for me is retirement. As it stands, I've been playing for this long and still have only 2, and they are both blasters.

Altitis combined with a 'full' career behind them means it's just time to move on. I have never slotted a purple and probably never will. Heck one of my 50's doesn't even have any enhancements as I striped him clean in order to re-build him with IO's and just never got around to it...

I'm mainly a solo player these days, as my time is erratic and my computer takes 5 to 10 minutes to load any time I zone, so I don't like making others wait.

And to be entirely honest. I feel the Incarnate system is interesting in concept but needs to be reimagined as something else entirely.
Like some form of Super supergroup. Maybe even call it Freedom Phalanx members instead of reserve.

My point is. To me an Incarnate is someone with so much power, they don't need others. To have a system that means you have to surround yourself with other demi-gods just to enjoy your own power levels just doesn't sit right with me. I wouldn't mind having a few TFs and such in the game that require teaming with other incarnates, Universal threats such as Rullaruu and etc. But making it such an enormous time sink, if you don't have the ability or willingness to team constantly means I won't be an incarnate any time soon.

But I'm okay with that.

I love it.

Mostly, I play characters to 50 and then retire them. Some of those 50's were characters I'd become kind of fond of, and it was often a bit sad to hit 50. I decided to dig some of them out again a year or so ago. I made lots of influence getting purples, I got all the accolades on a few of them. I decided to purple one of them out and splash out on LotG's and so on.

The Incarnate system is like an extension of that - more stuff to acquire for my main characters, and more reason to keep on playing them.

I plan to play pretty much the same as always. Lots of alts. I have a couple level 50 characters I still play fairly frequently, but the rest are mostly retired. The Incarnate system doesn't give me much of an extra incentive to play at 50, since all the Incarnate mission content after the introduction will be in the form of TFs and raids. I don't do TFs and raids due to my extreme teaming shyness. (I'm very introverted.)

It will take me a long time to make boosts for the Alpha slot, due to my altitis, and all they'll do for me is to allow me to go through the standard missions a little faster. Whee. No hurry on that.

Like a lot of people, I usually "retire" a character at 50, so it's nice to have some new content for them. I do hope that at least some of the upcoming incarnate stuff will be solo-able, and not just a series of TFs.

Yeah, I like it so far. Not even done the two new TFs with my MM.
Made me get him out and blow the dust off, at least.

I haven't touched it yet, I'm having too much fun running around with my low level alts reveling in the massive global lowbie buff that goes by the name "inherent stamina".

Once I get that out of my system I'll pick one of my 50's to check out Incarnates with.

I love it.

It's got me playing my old alts again, and having a lot of fun with them.
It allows me to either fix the worst issue my character builds have, or improve their strengths.
It's got people running TFs that aren't the ITF much more frequently.
The promise of shards is encouraging people to actually fight enemies instead of ghosting every single mission they can.

It's a great addition to the game.

I'm kinda mixed on the Incarnate stuff. It's nice to have something for my 50s to work toward, but kinda frustrating that the best way to get into the system is through TFs. I'm not often on during the optimal TF times, and it seems like people are only interested in doing Master runs (I don't want to be the guy who screws up someone's master run). I'd start TFs of my own, but I don't really know them well enough to attempt to lead a group through one (with the exception of Imperious, since that one is pretty straight forward).

I hope that the devs will come up with some story arcs that reward Incarnate components upon completion, or make components a reward option for existing arcs (such as Hero's Hero). That would be a nice way for players like me to earn the Incarnate stuff without having the grindy feel of doing tip/scanner/paper missions ad nauseum.

Goodbye, I guess.

Meh... more phat lewt for a game that didn't need it.

I'd like more content for my one or two 50s I'd play if it was available but this isn't it, so far.

It's the tip of the iceburg, I'm more excited by it's prospects than what we actually have right now. As it stands, it's pretty cool.

I've done just the opposite. Maybe I should try running around w/ some lowbies and see how much I like it.

One of the things I've always liked about CoH is that it wasn't an "end game" MMO, so I honestly can't say I'm happy to see us getting an end game.

My final opinion is reserved for how I see the Devs treat future content releases. If almost every issue is primarily devoted to new Incarnate content, I won't be very happy at all. But if they maintain a balance, then good deal.

im really liking it so far, its giving my 50s something to do, its givin my main a ton more badges to get, once i get my last 50 through the intro ill prolly be doing a lot more tfs and events for shards to get boosts, ect

i havent even touched my non-50s as of yet lol

This.

Add to it that I'm really excited by the design of the new TF's (and the new midlevel arcs aswell! the hero arc is especially great imo.) It givs me high hopes for the rest of the 'end game' content.

It also helps that it brought a lot of old players I haven't seen in a while out of the woodworks.

It is a nice little system but I was hoping there would be some more original content. Maybe future issues will give us some epic new TFs or something like that to really test our powered up 50s.

If we look at this as coming with Going Rogue as originally attending though, this End Game content also came with a mass amount of brand new 1-20 content, including new zones, multiple starting story arcs and all sorts.

So, I think the Devs are well aware not to make this game End Game dependent, but for those of us who make a strong connection with one of our characters, being able to advance that character some more is great.

You can get drops while soloing, just not at the same rate. Do the story arc and play your 50 and you should at least be able to get your common alpha in a reasonable time frame.
