I don't know about any of y'all, but for me, I kept getting lost when trying to remember which of the trees had which effect so I'd be able to better compare Alpha Enhancement to Alpha Enhancement.

So, I put together a chart to be able to say "I want to boost my defense debuff, which path do I need" for example.

Help yourselves.

Yes, but without you guys specifically saying that they were non-transferable in any way, it's not a false assumption to think they could be sold on the market. I've certainly never heard the Devs say something like, "You can get rare salvage by doing Task Forces 47 times in a row hoping for the random rare drop, trading in merits for a random roll and farming for the 22,000,000 it will take to buy a single critical piece on the market."

Can anyone clarify if the Alpha slot works while exemplaring?

If you'd read the WHOLE post the original IO style system was what was PREVIOUSLY used for the Incarnate system, meaning it was pretty much a hardcore only route to get the best incarnate abilities.

Now they've made it so much more casual friendly, you will be able to use Incarnate shards to make the TF reward salvage, then use more shards to upgrade that to rare status (assuming they remain uncommon status as they were originally), so the whole thing can be done without ever stepping foot in a Taskforce.

Yes it may take you longer to unlock the very rare incarnate abilities solo than in team content but then they are meant to be very rare.

If it's the same as it was in the GR beta, then no, it won't.

From what has been said, they are not suppose to work when exemplar'd at all.

That's not me being anti-social. I enjoy the forums(and Unleashed forums!), I just feel teammates get in the way of my fun most of the time.

Dude seriously. I hope your children teach you not to be arrogant towards other adults and treat other people with respect.

I have to admit that I don't exactly like how Mr. GMan3 phrased that, mostly because it is exactly the lecture I would have gotten in the same situation. I have to say though that the lesson I was taught is that if you mess up - you admit it, take ownership of it and apologize. If Mr. Miller had made a post a long time ago saying something like: "My mistake all, sorry for the confusion" then I have a feeling this never would have happened. Instead Mr. GMan3 felt he had to remind Mr. Miller what he was taught by his own parents and what he is probably teaching his own children (if he has any).

It was a little ugly maybe, but somehow I feel it was appropriate. Kinda like when one poster tells another to stop acting like a jerk and all. But what do I know, I don't even turn 15 till next month.

Umm, IO's are optional, not enhancements in general. They have been in the game from the start and the game is balanced around you having them. Try it with fully slotted SO's and you'll be fine.

I've seen a lot of people say this, but my old laptop worked better after UM came than it did before. Dunno why.

Most people were defending Posi, or making the standard jokes with him. Only 1 person was actually attacking him.

Something to bear in mind, as you get a 3rd slot you could build that to take advantage of the incarnate ability freeing up slots you currently have recharge powers in (whether for sets or just recharge enhs) to use for something else. I feel it won't be untill we start building with the Alpha Slot in mid that we will really know which works best.

I get that they're trying to make the slots as broad as possible but...damn...nothing pops out at me as 'must have!'

My main is an inv/ss tank as well, I think either the end redux/ res or the recharge would both greatly benefit my tank. More than likely I'll go recharge. I may go damage for when soloing, but on a team I think recharge would do me more good.

Same here wrt my main. I never went for softcap def, as I wanted something to stay Res based. I may go with the recharge myself, cant hurt to get my DP back faster I suppose, given all the debuffs I encounter.Still, I was hoping that a decent Res boost would help him.

Didn't your parents teach you to do just that, say "I am sorry" when you were wrong? I know mine did and I teach the same to my own children, it is only right after all.
So in all this talk of the "grown-up" thing to do, where do we rank your sig, with it's bold-faced colored-text calling out of Positron and then quoting him owning up to being wrong?

Because to some of us, that could look a little immature...

(I was bummed that there didn't seem to be a straight energy attack, but I guess my Scrapper will make due with either lightning or fire...)

But, to focus on one part of your post in particular: "Natural/unpowered characters, or weapon users, etc... doesn't really fit the theme for my golden age knife-nut adventurer to suddenly whip out an energy blast" doesn't really apply. You're no longer unpowered--you're an Incarnate now, and you're able to do crazy things ala Statesman's overpowered lightning crashes.
That's no fun. Heck, that's downright uninteresting. How interesting would Batman be if he's doing his kung fu and all and suddenly zaps you with rainbow colored lasers out of nowhere? It doesn't fit. It's straightjacketing you into a narrow concept, which is against what this game is supposed to be about. Also, okay, you've got "the power of the gods!"

... and you just got beat up by Malta. Y'know, the totally unpowered guys with guns? Yup, that Demigodhood is going real far, ain't it? :P

Seriously though. I really hope the devs include some stuff that's usable by the people that like to play low-powered characters and tech-users. And it could still feel powerful! Imagine, say, throwing out twenty shurikens in less than a second! Or a trick arrow that ricochets around and hits everyone in the target area! Or whatever. Be creative, but don't just make us shoot lasers and ice and whatnot.

So what Alpha Slot tree do y'all think you will take from. I feel Spiritual will be a popular one but I think I really like the Musculature tree a lot. Any thoughts?

Musculature Radial Paragon [Very Rare]
For all powers: Increases Damage, Immobilization Duration, Defense Debuff, Endurance Modification, and Run Speed effects by 33%, and To Hit Debuff effects by 20%.

Two-thirds of these bonuses ignore the effects of enhancement diminishing returns.

This power also applies a level shift.

[Ability Cost: Any 2 Rare]

I have accepted that the incarnate system is just not for every character I have, that or I have to be very creative in the story of why they have these things.

And I heard that as of issue 20, we will just have to continually mash one button and everything in our path will die! Can't wait to hit build up and one shot an AV! the quicker and easier we can stomp thru the game the better! Right?

Actually when I first started playing, a full team was alot better with a tank, a healer or 2 and debuffs.....or you were in for a rough time. NOW days, unessasary, any 8 half decent players can storm thru missions with no tank, no healers and no buffs/debuffs. Maybe a few tf's require these, but 95 percent of the content sure doesn't! And when we are all gods, we can solo 95 percent of the game set to +4/x8 with any well built toon! Yay! I just hope they dumb it down more and more, so I can knit while I play too!
