Yes, but someone posted that to get some of the very rare stuff will be like waiting for a purple io drop? If that is a reasonable comparison, I have got maybe 3 of those since they were created.....at the casual rate I play. Sounds like a long road to travel to me! And no, I rarely ever do tf's. Just saying it could literally take years for some folk to get all this incarnate stuff. If I am way off, well them I am wrong! Lol. And I hope I am!

And someone else said they'll drop about as often as rare salvage. Suggestion: wait for the issue to drop and find out for yourself before you panic.

Not panicking, criticizing!

Anyone who may have checked my post history will see, that is all I do! Why? Cause everything they have ever done since cov has been futile in my opinion! My wish? emit the game is too old and dated now and make a new superhero game and quit wasting time on things meant to try and hold on to their subscribers one sorry issue at a time.

Why am I still playin then? Cause it is the only game I am the least bit interested in playing that my old computer can run decently. When I do get a newer one sometime, I will leave this place alone! There are a few games I'd love out now, but can't run....and more coming out that I would love! But until I upgrade, here I am. And I will always criticize, cause it is my right, at least as long as Coh let's me! If enough people say it, maybe someday they will listen. Time for a new game! Period! They could never change and update this one enough to make it really fresh....ever.

Well, that is why I post what I post. (and yes, someone in this thread asked me why i play in a message )
Ignore me if I offend!

Well, if they did make a new game, you couldnt play it then, hehe.

I know! Lol. Maybe it would inspire me to save quicker!

I could however subscribe, even tho I can't plAy, and ***** about it in the forum!

I just think with other superhero games coming out.....eventually one of them will get it right and Coh will be dead. Doesn't nc soft want that to be an nc soft game? Pretty much everyone I know in game agrees, if a GOOD superhero game comes out, they will be outta here, and those are long time vets talkin. Let's be honest, the only reason any of us still play Coh (aside from having an older computer) is there Is no other good option. For this genre anyways. No one that has played for years can tell me they are still as excited playing Coh as they were their 1st couple years??? As soon as another real good game like this comes out, we are all outta here! Admit it! Lol. So make one nc soft! You did pretty good with this one! It's just gettin rusty now!

Actually, that's not what it says. I don't know if it was updated between yesterday and today, but the cost of "Any 2 Rare" for the Very Rare is labeled an "Ability Cost," not a "salvage cost." So it would appear that you're not paying with rare salvage, but with rare abilities. Functionally making "Very Rare" take exactly twice as long to achieve as "Rare".

Ya know, just to derail this thread a little, I'm a 4yr+ vet, and i still find things in this game that makes me pretty excited to keep playing it. Building characters, reading stories, and just generally playing characters will keep me interested. Yea, i may take breaks, but with the things they are currently working on, I probably won't be taking a break for quite some time.

Please keep your opinions to yourself, and don't assume everything thinks the same thing you do, cuz they really don't.

Sorry but ...

I took one look at that and a fairy died somewhere.

Then I went back to the tree provided on the site and all was right with the world.

Keep my opinion to myself cause you disagree with it? Seriously? Forums are all about opinions, and yes, some may not be the same as yours!

Have a nice day!

Clearly. However, this:

Is completely inaccurate and is, I suspect, specifically what was being responded to. Even if there were another hero-genre MMO, I probably would stay here. I like the community, I like the mechanics, and I know the system. So you're welcome to whatever opinions you want, just don't start thinking you can speak for everybody else when you present them.

Back atcha.

Also, please note that flame-baiting is against the forum rules, whether it's overt ("nerd rage") or just passive-aggressive ("Have a nice day!").

I disagree. I'm on my second gaming machine that I built specifically to play CoH on.

Some of the "magic" of not knowing what's next is gone, yes, but I now understand the systems and how to build characters a helluva lot better than I did 6 years ago. I would beat your pants off in a debate about this game being better-designed now versus at launch, and I'd have no problems constructing an argument that the game is a lot more fun now too.

I admit nothing. In a worst-case scenario (or, as you'd probably see it, a best-case scenario), I'd just end up subscribing to both.

You may be bored off your butt with the direction the game is headed, but I've been thrilled with everything* they've done with City of Heroes. The game just keeps getting better and better, and I think I'm honestly more excited about Issue 19 than I was about Going Rogue.

*Except for Issues 13 and 15, which were total carp melee, and at least 15 had somewhat of an excuse and was followed up with a good issue a little over two months later...

Think of what that heal boost would do for your HP when you hit dull pain. Woot! Between that and the recharge which would allow you to possibly full-time double-stack rage, I just get giddy.

Ok, help me out as I am old and haven't the time to dedicate to study as I once did. Just how does the ladder system/slot thing exactly work. Do you eventually get 10 of them and collect them as a set? Do you collect them and slot a few Alpha damage, a few Alpha resistances etc.? Just how are rares and uncommon ones built? Thanks, I know it can be figured out with time but I like to plan things ahead

Slightly less minor: I've got a character that I like a lot that does a lot of -Recharge as a secondary effect, and I don't see a way to boost that. Perhaps this could be made more flexible in the future? (I'm sure things a fixed in stone for I19 and I20.) Like if I give up Healing or Immobilize in one of those powers, can a get a different secondary boost, like -Recharge?

Just thinking out loud....
Incarnates are incarnation's of ancient power. Like Statsman having the power of Zeus and Lore Recluse having the power of Tartarus. There is no god of hydraulics, or high explosives. You could arguably have Hephaestus the god of the forge for mechanical. And Lain as computational but she is copyright.

My fear is that it's going to end up like purple IOs -- hard to get single ones without farming, nearly impossible to get even a partial set. Since prices for purps are in the 150-300 million range, I'll never be able to afford even a single one in any reasonable time frame. Incarnate IOs will likely be an order of magnitude more difficult to acquire.

I guess it's time to finally give in and have one of my toons on Freedom start farming AE like crazy so I can earn enough Influence to afford this stuff. Two billion ought to be a good start to get a couple of them.
You know you can buy purple IOs now.
At Fort Trident for Hero merits.

From what I read there are no Incarnate IOs there permanently linked to you like inherent powers that can be respected swapped out at will. You don't sell godhood at any price.

Probably already is one in the beta forum and will be available whin it goes open beta. Or will be copied soon after it goes live into the main forum.

Complaining just because the devs data isn't 100% accurate is once of the reasons why they rarely tell us anything about upcoming releases anymore.

I think they will be - but because we'll be so powerful by that stage, doing things like crossing our arms or putting our hands on our hips will result in some kind of AOE attack that can cause knockback on Rularuu and the Hamidon.

Ever here of something called swords dance. I remember a version where a hero's??? weapon split into several duplicates and started slicing up the monster. And no I'm not saying which movie it was from because it might have bin one inappropriate for younger viewers. Yup definitely not telling you about a movie that had nothing to do with a Dragon that is Pink.

I am REALLY hoping that one of the Incarnate abilities will allow us a resistance power, be it click, toggle or auto. My SR Scrapper is way too squishy when the hits connect, and while there's now a way for Scrappers to get a temporary defense bonus, there is no way to do the same for resistance. ;_;
Isn't "tough" resistance.

You do realize that the ones saying it are probably trying dependently not to mention that they are in the closed beta and actually know this for a fact right. Of cores this is just a they I have no way of knowing is its true or not.

Best guess says that you start by getting one of the 4 (labeled as common). Thin you can power it up into 1 of 2 (uncommon) thin again (Rare) thin just into one final version (Very rare). Of not is that whin you power it up you don't lose the previous version so you can power it up to both versions and switch between them at will. Giving you 34 possible power-ups.

The majority of times i've seen people say "You can't transfer or sell this stuff" it has come from referencing the Alpha Slot when it was on GR beta. That and the fact that it makes sense from a lore prospective. its possible the devs have changed it, But I doubt it.

Some of us don't particularly give a fig about "genre" and play the game simply because it's an enjoyable game to play.
