Was forming an ITF on Champ. Server fall down go boom

Oh good. Can people die earlier and stay dead for Veng then?
Did leagues ever get into a routine of running Keyes like the other two? From what I remember around late June it just looked like this trial was ridiculously over-engineered and people would never get into a daily habit of running it.
What's in the final battle? something like:
1) +/- charges get assigned to players and the two types should try to stay away from each other
2) Green laser of holdy holdy doomsauce
3) Time stoppage
4) 3 healing terminals
5) Decay for not moving
6) One person randomly disintegrating
7) Everyone taking periodic damage (or does that stop in the final phase?)
8) Timer
That's almost enough effects to create a new powerset. I just couldn't imagine anyone choosing that experience over a BAF or Lambda -
Whenever a game shouts "quick! do X before the time runs out!" I wait for the time to run out, to see what happens.
This happened in the first mission and the result was being kicked from the map. No other consequences though, apparently? -
Me please
I left for a while after Keyes arrived, only ran it three times. The third time was me teaching a PUG league on Virtue how to run it, so I do remember the general idea.
Only thing I'm not clear on is the no defeats - is this for the entire Trial, or just the final battle? -
Level 50. I've tried on several alts of different alignment and none of the repeatable contacts will give me anything to do.
Is the content capped at 29-30? So my 50s can use Ouro to run the main story, but never access the repeatable missions? -
Quote:Well, I'm a villain and Calhoun won't talk to me at all. I thought they weren't supposed to be level-specific?There are five repeatables - 2 for loyalists/villains, 2 for Resistance/Heroes, and 1 neutral one for everyone:

Once this arc plays out, will the LRSF be easier?

Quote:As funny and true as that is, it took all of about 60 seconds to get through. Then you clearly haven't played the new lowbie arcs. Hunts come up constantly. Aaron Thiery's was horrible. "Hunt Hellions. No wait, I mean hunt Arachnos. Good, but now hunt Arachnos that have specific names. Oh, and I saw some pylons, go hunt those. And yes, I guess, if you really feel like you have to, you can go do a door mission now."
I was FAR more annoyed by this:
"Go to the back of the mission to talk to this guy. Okay, now find another person who's about halfway up the map. Now go back to the beginning. Now go find that Unique Transmitter you passed earlier and click it. No, not THAT Unique Transmitter, the OTHER Unique Transmitter. Now, go and click the other transmitter. QUICK! Hurry to the fron of the mission again, no wait...I meant the back! No wait, the middle! I said quick!!
Yeah, okay. You had all the time in the world, I just rushed you for lulz. Now go back to the beginning and defeat the security team. No, not all those guys in a group standing together who look like a team, I said THE SECURITY TEAM! THAT single guy standing THERE named "The Security Team" by his parents...!"
I have never accumulated so much physical mileage in single maps before. I wanted to rename my character "The Human Yo Yo" -
Quote:While they're at it, they could retcon the eternally-incomplete rocket ship platforms into Meteor-defence launch sitesThere's a lot in the thread I agree with, so I won't parrot it, but I will say: rewrite some of the 10-25 villain stuff. Now, don't get me wrong, it's good- but with minor rewrites it could be great. A lot of the content there references the Blood of the Black Stream, which is a concept left by the wayside. Update it to the Coming Storm! Wasn't it 3K Kelvin in those arcs, the Hellion boss? Maybe he had another name, I forget. But he's all about BotBS- when heroside, Hellions are chomping at the bit for the Coming Storm. There's a lot of potential to mix in Coralax and a lot of those other forgotten plot threads left in the low-level villain area. For example, say the red coral shards are from another meteor. Bam. Coming Storm. Of course, not everything needs to tie into the CS. But there's no reason to have these plot threads for content we'll never see lying around.

Quote:I completed all the arcs for the new badges, wasn't even reading the story (just spamming left click) and even under those conditions I found this arc bad. It took me about three times longer than the heroside equivalent. No contest: Dr. Graves.
In nearly seven years playing I have never quit an arc midway because it was so bad.
Dr. Graves has changed all that.
I am willing to watch his story arc sit there and rot for eternity if it means not having to interact with the stupidity again. Badges? Merits? I don't care if it rewards rainbows and puppies, I'm not finishing it and I'm never re-playing it.
Bad characters, bad writing, bad editing, insulting assumptions, railroading dialog trees, misplaced mob markers- if there's something that can be wrong with an arc, Graves has it. I would cheerfully do any of the Shardow Shard TFs before running Graves again.
The only point where I stopped for a moment to listen to what was going on was during the "Dollface" twist.
On behalf of redside players, I'd like to remind everyone of the travesty that is Hardcase. Or more accurately, the travesty of Vivacious Virandi's arc where halfway through Hardcase derails everything by making you scared of him.
I have about 9 characters with that arc half-completed, because I flat out refused to bow to Hardcase's idiotic threats. They are all still waiting for Hardcase to "bring down some serious firepower" on them, for their refusal. It's been 5 years... -
Made it to 1268. I'm just missing some of the new day jobs and trial badges now, but I hate those because I don't like badges awarded for being lucky enough to not be teamed with idiots
Ah well. -
I've posted about it before, but add me to the list of peeps getting the failed memory allocation error.
It started happening to me after Issue 20. It only happened once an evening so I wasn't so bothered by it, except that it had a nasty habit of happening right near the end of Lambda Trials, which once caused me to miss out on the final reward about 6 times in a row. Never in a BAF though.
I'm pretty sure the error happens when some texture you haven't viewed yet runs right past your screen (like a boot texture on one of your friend sin an Inc Trial) and the game can't resolve it due to memory leakage, causing the whole aplication to crash.
Since Issue 21, I've been getting a new type of crash where I zone out of a mission and into a graphics-intensive zone (either Port Oakes or any Praetorian zone). Not always, but noticably frequent.
I'm on Vista 32 and Nvidia. Not on my home machine atm so can' post more details. -
As someone who (on my first character) spent over 10 hours flying around every inch of every single zone map in the game to remove ALL fog of war (yes, even in the Shadow Shard!), having it randomly come back makes me a sad panda.
On the plus side, I have Reveal. -
Thanks!
Guess I'll go see what Angela has for me to do. -
So the repeatable contacts give aligned missions? Villains can act like villains?
I haven't found these yet, do you need to fight through the 8-part arc to unlock thew repeatable contacts? -
I was told that no matter which choices you made, you couldn't ever be a Loyalist properly and side with Cole or Mother Mayhem, even if you are a villain.
This turned me off right form the start, so I never did the arcs. It sounded like just working with the good guy carnies and never having the moral choice to change sides and help Tilman or the Seers, so I didn't see any point.
My character is on Diabolique's side, so fighting her is out of the question -
>.>
<.<
Yep, I sure was.
Thanks for the tip! Guess I petition for help then -
Understable given the origin of the problem, but still massively disappointing that the one place where you really really want to use /ah is the one place you can't use it

I made a new character this week. Beam/Time.
One of the first things I did (as always) was claim all my prestige powers/rewards. At first, a lot of them didn't work and I got "no room in inventory" in chat, even though I was trying to claim things like prestige sprints, costume tokens and earned respecs.
Once I got to level 20, I was able to claim everything. However, two problems have arisen:
1) Reward merits I claimed never appeared in my inventory. I claimed back something like 5, 6, and 7 merits, and lost them all.
2) None of the prestige powers work. Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff, Inner Inspiration, team teleport, reveal...etc etc. I claimed them all from email, dragged them from my powers list to a power tray, and they are all greyed out. None of them work.
I'm not so worried abut the few lost merits, but I would really like the prestige powers to work since without them I can't team recall or tp to my base, which sucks.
