2 billion per enhancer
True story. My first 50 was a dark melee/Inv scrapper. He ran on SOs for 4 years (2 years before the IOs/markets and 2 years after). I only upgraded him to common IOs and a couple cheap set IOs. He doesn't die unless I stop paying attention to what I am doing.
I guess I should be crying that he is unplayable since I haven't put billions into his build. |
man I wish the OP hadn't deleted his original post in the brute forum publicizing his 'leet build with purples
I guess the lesson we learned here is theres multiple ways of earning loot. Some methods are more efficient in certain ways. The market is actually not the be-all end-all of kitting everything on your character. Heresy I know....anyhow, choosing to not use as many of the options as possible in an efficient a manner as possible means things take longer than they could. The odiousness level of the "grind" of any one method is determined solely by the individual pursuing said action. If any given player is okay with the length they are going to to achieve their goal, then we, as a player base, are too. If they are not, we (again, as a whole) invite them to try out the myriad other ways to achieve their goal. What I think they fail to consider, is if their singular way was made more efficient so their timeline was reached then all those others out there that choose to use all methods available would become even more ridiculously efficient as well.
Also, I point people who desire these uber builds quickly to play through the Mender Ramiel first mission more than once...say ten times in a row and see if thats fun. Theres something to be said for the grind to "complete" your character being more fun than actually getting there.
Now, we've capped thise discussion....let it die.

The key phrase was uttered a few pages ago, paraphrased - it should take a WELL INFORMED player less than a month to achieve the goal, and a player who does not avail him/herself of all the tools available may never reach the goal.
Frankly, it is people like YOU who make people leave a particular game/community - unable to learn, closed minded, shortsighted. Please don't give anyone advice about any part of this game. Your help is not really needed here.
Your ignorance is no longer worthy of comment from me, and I hope others join me in halting the futlity of helping you understand that, for starters, you are not an expert on this subject. Good day.

Boy, did I come into this thread late! I just want to add my 2 cents.
I returned to the game about 6 months ago. Not only do I have now have perma-PA on my controller, I've got a blaster with several sets of purples as well.
When I returned, amongst all my toons, I had 26 million inf. (no villains)
I did no "farming" per se. I just bought low, sold high. I traded well usually and sometimes I got a lesser end of the deal.
Now, other than being able to always have PA up, and having perma -hasten on my toons, that's really the only way I notice that I have any purples. In combat, sure I might regen 16% faster, but it's not something I notice. I might have accuracy maxed at 95%, typically even when debuffed - but that 5% seems like it comes more often than 5% of the time.
You might think purple sets and PvP IO sets are these wondrous things that will make you a better player - and in cases of perma-hasten, perma PA (faster recharge stuff) - they will, to a degree.
But, if you team frequently, you simply don't need any purples, or any IO sets at all. I have a toon by the name Ukase Rex on every server. He's an ice blaster on every server - except Triumph.
On Infinity and Liberty, he's level 50. Same powers, but different slotting. On Liberty, he's IO'd. On Infinity, he's not.
I can not tell the difference, not when solo, and not when teamed.
Period.
So, if 2 billion per enhancement is too pricy, don't sweat it. Pop an SO in there, and enjoy the game.

This thread is a monument to ignorance. People keep offering you good advice -- about the market, about builds, about making money even without marketeering. You blindly refuse to acknowledge any of it.

There is nothing left for anyone to do at this point but to point and laugh. The better people tried to dissuade him from making the journey, but he has insisted. He probably wants to call himself a martyr for a greater cause.
|
Actually, I think this whole thread has been because he spent a great amount of time farming the stupid way without bothering to check if he was farming the stupid way. He made 2.5 billion and spat out his binkie when he found out that it wasn't enough inf.

I can understand the gripe with pricing for IO's. However, I just find affordable IO's of a lower tier. I can't spend large amounts of time playing the game when I have work and school. And if necessary, aren't there sites where you can purchase Influence?

So Blue_Centurion, if you had a Shield Wall: Teleportation Protection, +Res(All) IO, how much would you sell it for if you can set any price you want?
Just to let you know, these sell for 2.5 to 3 bill off market. |
1) Blue_Centurion has claimed to speed read thru walls of text, thus has missed a lot of content including my question. He didn't miss all of it, since he has made numerous replies to other people after my post on page 21.
2) Blue_Centurion doesn't dare answer. He's asking the devs to nerf other players by restricting their sale prices at the market, but doesn't want the same nerf to apply to himself.
I am assuming reason #1. To make it easier to answer, I provide multiple choice:
Blue_centurion will part with Shield Wall: Teleportation Protection, +Res(All) IO for the price of:
A) 0 infamy - such a nice guy!
B) 100 mil
c) 500 mil
D) 2 bil
E) 3 bil + $20 paid via Paypal - gotta milk it baby...
F) Infinity. No amount of cash, in game or real will make Blue_centurion give it up
If your answer is (F) then you are not supplying the market. You are making the item rare by not adding to the supply. You have also put a big price tag and thus declared how valuable and precious it is.
For answers (D), (E) and (F): If you value it so much, then asking the devs to cap the value is shooting yourself in the foot.
No reply to this question: Probably speed reading again... -_(-_-)_-

How is she doing that? That looks like the beer alone (before you add the mugs!) should weigh more than she does!
