I tossed in a 1 billion and half in prep for the bonfire. Wanted to make sure my 88er started at 0 inf before I start making arrangements.
Liquidating SG storages isnt as much fun as I thought....but hope people like the bargains. IM up to something like 8 billion liquid after one server...

Every last stinking IO goes on the market for 1 inf....every last inf gets burned. NCSoft will delete all my characters with absolutely zero inf or storage.... -

Shoot for the high 50s for defense (not 45%). Any of the content in DA uses 59% as the soft cap and SR is a one-trick pony in that it has no Resistance or Self Heal.

Thanks much for the reply! I'm still relatively low level (26), but so far I've been progressing along a very similar blueprint to what you laid out here. I a finding that while staff lacks the burst/build-up powers, and SR is a defense only set, staff mastery and quickness make a gnarly combo. While definitely not an instant gratification combo, it seems to flow very well, dispatching mobs very efficiently. And I definitely like SR so far.
1. Is this VIP? Are you going to Incarnate?
2. What kind of budget are you looking at?
3. Any particular pool powers? Any problems with Patron Powers?

And yes, the VO in TOR *did* slow down computers, something widely complained about during beta. They tried to correct it I guess, but I never saw much improvement, suffering many stutters and often crashes during particularly heavy expository scenes. I don't know why that would happen, but it did.

I said onerous, not scary or intimidating. I think the vast majority of players dont build wealth through the market because they just dont care to. They would rather play and spend time boppin bad guys than staring at the market interface. However the time Ive spent with the market goes down with the experience I get. Your perception of inf has definitely changed though...for the better.....pretty soon youll be burning a billion for lulz.

No, for every quality person who would due their best even up to the buzzer theres a dozen who would milk the clock at best, and actually do harm at worst. There is a requirement for a severance in most states if due notice isnt given.....so its not all bad. -

If nothing else, Im enjoying watching your perception of the market, and inf in general change. This is one of those things that the more you experience it the less onerous it seems. I fully accept the argument, "I dont play City of Stock Brokers" but its not my experience.....
For me I went through several defining steps with my market experience, and this is mostly in order....
1. Prices are too high, Im going to have to farm forever to buy wings....
2. I can outfit a toon with IOs for pennies if I avoid optimum sets....stupid people, why am I the only one thats thought of this?
3. Frankenslotting! My genius knows no bounds
4. There is a really large gap between the price of this recipe drop and the price of this crafted IO, I shall craft
5. Why is salvage so expensive?....flippers are stupid and keep me down.
6. Hah, I made so much moola off selling this crafted IO, I dont care that flippers are charging 200k for an uncommon. Stupid flippers.
7. Wait, prices fluctuate. I can just leave my bid up overnight. Flippers are still stupid.
8. See the large difference in the upper and lower prices for this IO? I should flip it and lower the top end price...thatll show that flipper.
9. Duh, for every buyer there is a seller. I dont care how high prices are.

Enough about my misadventures running task forces, time to give the readers what they really want- stories about my son! =P
Here's some of the stuff we've done over the past week or so:
1: Run across every inch of monorail track in Steel Canyon...VERY SLOWLY.
He would get really mad when we'd fall off, so I ended up using nothing but Sprint.
2: Defeated every wannabe purse snatcher in both Atlas Park & Steel Canyon. Also, if they know what's good for them the Circle of Thorns will stay the heck away from Gimry Ridge!

Which is just an expression of my own inner dialogue- I have *always* felt a twinge at ignoring street crime, however high level the character is. So while it does make navigating to a tip mission in a low level zone more time consuming, I don't really mind it.
3: Wandered around Croatoa endlessly looking for his new favorite thing in the game, "pumpkins disguised as TREES!"
Well, his favorite until Eochai wandered past, anyway.
"DADA, DADA LOOK AT THE GIANT PUMPKIN GUY!"
"Oh wow, he's really big!"
"Let's got look at him!"
"Well, we can't get *too* close."
"Why not? He isn't our friend?"
"No, afraid not."
"Can we bonk him, then?"
"He's too mean for us to bonk- do you want to get some friends to help us?"

So I threw a flare out into the LFG channel and darned if I didn't get a whole team's worth of interest!
My son was super excited by this, and made me go look up close at all of our "friends" as they arrived.
"What HIS name! What's he do? Is he going to HELP us?"
When the full squad was assembled we went on the attack, although I was little more than a remote-controlled camera for my son.
"Get closer! Look at his FACE! What's on that side of him? Now back up!"
Thanks to toggle debuffs I still like to think I pulled my weight, but I didn't bring much offense to the table. =P
Got the badges, saw some cool characters, and it was yet another demonstration of the efficacy of the LFG channel.
I don't know why I didn't think of Croatoa earlier- Halloween is by far his favorite holiday. His only disappointment was that Ray was too high level to aggro the "pumpkin trees", but I did fine a workaround- if I punched a Tuatha and dragged it over, the 'trees' would come alive to fight their mortal enemy.
But the next time I get someone around Croatoa level, I'm heading over to run the story arcs- I think he'd get a kick out of them.
This makes me miss playing with my son around the time villains came out....I did a lot of swimming with my namesake, levelling slowed....but the cry of "He's a frog, he should swim" was too much fun to ignore. So we swam every time we saw water.....and every zone in COV has water.
Now he's 9 and has his own account and I have to explain things like last night...."Dessert Shrike is not a scary attack bird with earth-moving powers but is most likely a bird-based delicious pastry". That character got rerolled -
My marketing kinda slows down on DXP....I arrange time to actually play as opposed to the 15 mins or so I reserve for marketing.
The oddest thing though, Scientific Theories were selling for 10 million at one point.....I dropped one on the market and insta-sold for 10,000,001 (seriously, you worried about people bidding 10M?). Of course I went and rolled the 3k ae tickets I had on me immediately and cleared 75 million by supplying a few dozen.....
I sold a few generic IOs at ridiculous profits but because all my other niches stalled didnt make a lot of scratch.
I logged in this morning and managed to purchase a bunch of purples on the cheap so that was nice. -
Seeing all these people say thank you reminded of one of those forum arguments I got into with someone on the last thread Organica posted.....heres the central point to his argument.....

I think I'm most happy with (big shocker!) Tyrion's storyline. Dinklage does justice to the part, and the show spends enough time on him to get the main points across. I can't wait to see the reaction at the end of next season (or the season after that, if they're splitting Storm into two seasons).

Seeing as you never said, What is your definition of market manipulation ?
Dont forget Im not debating whether or not manipulation happens, Id wager it happens often but in short chunks.
I think part of the problem is I see a difference between affecting the market, which by your definition would be manipulation and Manipulating the Market.
For example, I recently purchased several dozen Kinetic Combats for my own purposes. I went slightly higher than the going rate and sold back a handful at a modest profit....I affected the market but didnt manipulate it at all, just took advantage of a natural price swing based on steady demand and variable supply.
I think any discussion of Market Manipulation must include consideration for intent and scope, and I honestly dont know exactly where that line is. I think Im going to borrow a concept from the Supreme CourtI shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core pornography"]; and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it, and the motion picture involved in this case is not that. [Emphasis added.]

Was your example indicative of market manipulation? I believe it was, but dont forget I questioned it based on whether or not it had any real effect on the price not on whether I would define it as manipulation. Assuming its something in relative decent supply, the answer is still no. The floor only shifted a little bit....all you really did was put a tax on the impatient.
