Good morning,
I am considering construction of my first Tanker or Brute with the combination of Electric and Willpower or Electric and Invulnerability. However, I would like to know which is better or is recommended - Willpower or Invulnerability? And based upon the choice between those two, is it better to have it as a Primary or Secondary with Electric Melee? Obviously, I will have to choose Tanker or Brute for the eventual combination.
Please provide feedback... -
I'm in agreement. That would give us an incentive for birthing new toons or leveling the ones we already have.
-
Well, at least I can spend more time improving how I apply my makeup.

Quote:I found this response in the discussion: "Issue 19 Launch Update" . Apparently, it will not be released until the after the holidays.

I'm kind of torn between two of my 50s as well. I will probably stick with the firstborn, who is a storm/elec def. I've been working diligently for the past 2mos IO'ng her and finally stopped a couple of weeks ago. I would definitely like more damage, if possible. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Quote:LOL @Skyster, I'm with you on that one, but add a course project to my list of things to do for the holidays.GAH!! I wish I'd never heard of it. It's like.... having a new Ferrari out in the driveway, but, "Oh No... you can't drive it yet!" And still having to drive a... old Hundai or something lol. And having to SEE the FERRARI every DAY. *sigh*
Oh well, I hope the devs have a nice Thanksgiving with their families, and safe trips to all. But I sure wish they'd leave US with something to be thankful for. Me, I'm trying to AVOID turkey and all the "obligatory" crap this year, and just play some games. Maybe grab some taco bell. I'm a... turkey atheist this year. An aturkeist. Give the poor birds something to be thankful for. -
Quote:Nethergoat, you can read what you want to read. But I would suggest that you read the response prior to mine, which generated the "YOU DON'T KNOW ME" card as you put it. When I came into this thread, I presented a theory that was not directed at anyone in particular, more so in relation to the thread's title. So yes, if that's how you interpreted it, then that's indicative of your level of cognitive processing.sure it is.
people responded to what you wrote, you didn't like it and busted out the hackneyed YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!111 card, I pointed out they don't need to know you, they only need to know your writing.
If you think your writing is being misinterpreted, improve it or clarify it. -
Quote:Thanks, DSorrow. However, my initial post for this thread was in regards to how players may accrue influence and what challenges may contribute to a lack thereof in which I stated may be a result of teaming. In agreement with several other posts, there are differences in the rate of influence accrual based upon whether you solo or team up.Not necessarily. Maybe what you said was composed in a way that it implied something you didn't mean. I do stuff like that all the time, I say something and people interpret it differently from what I had meant. It might even seem I clearly meant that, so there was no "need" to ask for clarification.
ETA: If you really wanted to get into the "accuracy of an expression" territory, you'd need to ask for clarification every time someone posted something to be absolutely sure. -
Quote:Nethergoat, this is not about expression or accuracy. Apparently, something I said among the threads was clear because you responded with a statement, not a question for clarification. Furthermore, accuracy is based upon a concept that has been accepted as standard, and opinions are not standards, norms, or even facts. So for you or anyone else toHappily, that isn't necessary.
You're on a forum, so people are going to respond to what you post.
Going from what you've posted in this thread there are obvious conclusions to draw, and people have drawn them.
If you don't like those conclusions, you should express yourself more clearly and accurately. -
Quote:And again, Chaos, your conclusion is incorrect!!! There is little chance of you knowing what my behavior patterns in game play are. I never said that I personally had an issue with finding teams. But based upon observation and interaction with other players, my statements are based upon that. Two billion in Influence may seem like a lot for people who play intermittently or within schedule constraints. When you consider how variables such as time and frequency of game play may factor in with rate of finding teams, the dynamics of individual playing experience changes.Again, you've ignored global channels, the place where teams get formed.
Until a public opinion poll is established or statistical evidence is found to support your view, it is your perspective versus mine. -
Quote:I appreciate that you have been enlightened about what my "problem" is, Chaos. Please allow me to express what I think about your statement. Simply, you don't know what you are talking about. You can log onto the busiest of servers, Virtue and Freedom and those comments get posted in Broadcast. I would go on to say that there may be others that feel as I do, but won't spend the time to debate the issue in a forum because truly they don't care.I think your problem is you don't know how to find teams. I can find teams at any hour of the day.
There are a good deal of players who have lives (i.e. work, family, school, etc.) outside of the game, so they are not going to log in at different points of the day to try and find a team. Unfortunately, when they have the chance to, they will see those statements and may even say the same thing. Don't assume that your success rate of finding a team is another person's issue.
When there are other variables at play, such as expansions, events, the awaiting of i19 for example, the amount of game activity will increase. But when the excitement has grown old, activity decreases. An alternative is joining an active SG where you don't have to worry about finding a team, because the members have their own internal events. Yet, you have a portion of COH/COV's population who are not apart of any SG or VG. -
I appreciate the feedback. I was not aware that purchasing influence from 3rd parties was a violation of the Terms & Conditions. As a practice of good citizenship, I do work up to larger influences through missioning and selling @ Consignments. Personally, I think its unnecessary to give lower level toons Crafted-IOs when they haven't reached 50 because its a waste of influence, but that's just my opinion.
But once you get to level 50 (unless there's an event) activity seems to decrease, which is one reason that the Architect Edition was implemented. You go to PI or RWZ and all you see through Broadcast is things like: "lvl 50 def LFT" or "are there any mission teams"and so forth. So unless you have a solo'ng capable archetype or happen to log into the game and find a team, your chances for collecting rare recipes and IO's is slim. -
Quote:i'm certain everyone would agree with chaos' statement, as shown in multiple threads around the boards. and it is not looked upon as a good thing around here to speak for other people unless you have undeniable proof that it is what people want. i honestly see no reason to give every power to every AT. and using your own example lightning rod, if you want the power, make a toon from an AT that has access to it.
Sharker, then I suggest you begin to post support for your statement, because what you have just done is spoke for other people without documenting the threads that you've referenced. And until you do so, you have only contradicted yourself. Furthermore, the forum is not the only means for communication and providing opinions, people do it all day long in-game. They don't go running to the boards to post their ideas. My idea is for the DEVs, and if they deemed it necessary to develop a Wedding Pack as a bonus to the game's character creation system, then surely there is nothing wrong with my mine. -
Quote:Actually, I'm not certain that everyone would agree with that statement. At this point, most vets are looking for variety, in addition to further character development. What I'm suggesting is that players be allowed to choose whether they want a "standard" mastery as their Ancillary/Patron Pool choice or, be able to select from a general pool of powers for the same number as permitted by level. This is a bad thing. We don't want to be like LulzF2Pchampions.
Yes, COH/COV is better by far than CO in a lot of ways, so it's only the selection of powers that I'm particularly concerned about. -
Personally, I would be interested in a new Pool set that allows you to choose at least one or two powers of other archetype/powersets. The power "Lighting Rod" is only available to the more "physical" archetypes, which doesn't make sense when you have electricity in other archetype categories. This would give players more of a Champions Online-like feel. And if this powerset cannot be made available at the initial security level, then integrate it at some other point. Matter of fact, just revamp the entire Ancillary and Patron Pool lists, making it so that individuals can choose up to 4 or 5 additional powers.

I can understand the gripe with pricing for IO's. However, I just find affordable IO's of a lower tier. I can't spend large amounts of time playing the game when I have work and school. And if necessary, aren't there sites where you can purchase Influence?
