Accurate interpretation of an obvious agenda isn't a "personal attack". Your post history speaks for itself.

When you choose to interpret the normal behavior of game developers industry wide as an omen of disaster for Paragon Studios specifically you're wearing your bias on your sleeve.

Forums aren't monologs, assertions are open to counterargument.
Why are you so uncomfortable with that reality?

You have zero information about the circumstances of BaB's leaving.

There are a world of potential reasons why someone would get laid off or leave a job, your insistence on considering only the most dire is instructive.

I can see that only with the qualifier that people would make life decisions based on that.

So far, a good portion sounds like a water cooler discussion born from a few facts. I'm not seeing a problem with positing possibilities under that scenario.

As long as no one jumps on people with differing views.

Also, i think the forums can do with a lot less references to people with subpar "reasoning skills" don't you think?

Me, too. BaB deserved a chance to say goodbye. It all feels so wrong.

Koschej didn't get to say goodbye. Although it could be argued that he wasn't the same caliber of installation as BAB.

Come on guys in this craptacular economy its always a good thing to get laid off prior to finding another job as oppossed to having another job lined up before getting laid off...the trolling on both sides of the fence is fun to watch except in this case...guess ive included myself in this as well sry BaB's!

Wishing you the best BaB's...we will miss your work and thanks for giving a shout out to the forums from time to time...your next employer is in for a treat!

I never got the chance ot say something grossly inappropriate to him.

je saist your pronouncements are dumbfounding, you don't know anymore then a guy selling hot dogs at a ballgame, though the comic relief as always is appreciated.

Best of luck to all those who were affected by this layoff. Here's hoping you're all gainfully, and happily, employed again soon.

Wasn't in the same hemisphere, you know that. Aside for lead animation, Chris was the best public relations envoy this game has had before and after the Cryptic split.

I think the world could do with a lot fewer people with subpar reasoning skills. YMMV but with elections in a few weeks it's just painful to hear them on the news and in political ads.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

this is where ditching broadcast teevee entirely for the streaming delights of Roku pays off big.

I have very reliable source* that says that all 9 of these employees were stealing desks and bathroom fixtures during off-hours for months before they were caught by the confused contractor that had to replace a toilet for the 4th time.

The "laid off" talk is just to avoid headlines reading "Paragon Employees Gone Rogue!" They don't need that kind of bad press for their new product.

*My imagination

My theory is just as credible as any of the others floating around in these threads. I'll really miss BaB too, but there's no reason to get out the pitchforks, or expect Paragon to fold. It's business as usual.

My heart goes out to the recent lay-offs.

Oh, wait a minute...

LAWLZ.

Despite my better judgement, i had to check to see if you had something interesting to say, but alas.

But since i did, you sure you didn't reply to the wrong person...where did i exactly call you that term?

From what I understand many of the positions were known to be temporary. People may wonder why you would take a job that you know will not last, but the answer is simple. To get a foot in the door.

I will miss BABs, he was always willing to entertain my ideas, and I bugged the hell out of him when weapon customization came out. I still never got the Cimeroian (sp) gladius with my DB scrapper, but it is cool.

His willingness to answer will be missed greatly. That is where David is winning me over, he is willing to communicate.

We are very lucky to have great Devs, I am not sure any other MMO can boast a community like ours, that is why it is such a shock to lose one of them.

Exactly. Good luck to those who have left! I am also looking forward to see what comes next rather than worry about what will happen next. CoH2 would be terrific, but so would seeing i25 eventually. Only time will tell I guess, but I am optimistic about it for sure.

Don't fret. I'm sure he saw you say enough grossly inappropriate things to other people to satisfy him completely...

Yet another example of this company hiding from controversy. The attitude that is building over there is causing me a great deal concern. I'm already disgusted that we seem to have to pay for costume pieces from here on, and the stone wall is getting old quick.

Most of your comments on any topic I have a fair understanding of range in utility from wrong but harmless to wow, I hope nobody tries that at home, they could blow their house up.

Your drive-by in the market forum yesterday is a case in point, with the comical assertion that 95% of the level 50s in the game "struggle" to kit themselves out with SOs and the head-scratching statement that buying stuff from other players 'off market' is somehow against the TOS, which completely ignores the reality that 'off market' transactions were all we had for the first 8 issues.

You do have a very good opinion of yourself, which is something I guess.

The company policy is quickly becoming the iron grip of a thinly disguised military dictatorship. It's certainly not a policy most western MMO customers are comfortable with

If I'd have joined the game today instead of 2006, they wouldn't have gotten anything after my free month

Please make sure that the higher-ups are aware that there is displeasure amongst the end users of their product
