Oooooh! So that's what Tip mission are!

Never let it be said the devs never listen to their players. How often did people request to see story arcs you get from street-sweeping? I swear there was a thread for it every couple of months.

This better not be some cruel joke or a dream.

Not trying to start a poop storm or anything, but I'm curious about the "possibility to change your destiny". Does that mean that running tip missions will allow me to change alignment via the new tip mission system without purchasing the upcoming expansion?

That confused me, too, actually.

Considering that side-switching is GR's trademark feature, it would be kinda weird to see it be inclused in a free Issue.

But even then, you still get four powersets, access to Praetoria's 1-20 content and Incarnate levels with GR.

Allow me to speak for the entirety of the dev staff when I say:

I'm really looking forward to the epicness of 24 level 50s in the CoP and trying out the new Tip system, sounds like street sweeping will be much more popular come i18

Curious to see how difficult the CoP trial will turn out to be. Nice to see it making it's way back into the game. It didn't mention anything about base raiding. Is that feature returning as well? What about Items of Power?

Thanks for that. This was my hope! xD

Im assuming the badge/merit rewards mentioned are replacing the Items of Power as rewards for the CoP

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

Didnt we have to enter this trial through a raid teleporter in our base? It has been so long since I even brought those memories.

The funny thing was that in the Q&A I asked about the CoP and if it was coming back in I18/GR

They said an altered version of the CoP trial. I don't think it will have anything to do with base raids. More likely a Co-Op Trial. Maybe the whole zone will become Co-Op?

Im wondering - do you get tips from just defeating foes from street sweeping or will foes in misisons drop them as well??

Is it Rularuu or Ruularu?

Posting this on PWiki, and all of our links are Rularuu

I like the sound of the new Cathedral of Pain Trial. Rare badge? Maybe a "Master of CoP" badge? Getting 24 toons through the trial with no deaths could be a rare feat indeed.

That's why I asked.

And apparently the answer to your question is... Yes. XD

No it's not. But you need a base that is able to start the trial

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Arc Name: Tsoo In Love

Oh wow. I was so sure issue eighteen was going to be called Smoke and Mirrors. Double meaning and all that.

Regardless, this looks fantastic. Looking forward to trying out everything.

Well, if I had to guess.... The issue title is "Shades of Grey" so maybe you'll allowed to become Vigilante or Rogue without the expansion, but unable to fully switch sides.

So you can go Hero->Vigilante->Hero as many times as you want, but if you want Villian, you need to buy the expansion.

Well, I guess this answers my question...

Previously the Cathedral of Pain was used to acquire Items of Power which were instrumental in Base Raiding. The initial implementation of the CoP was exploitable and ultimately removed. We have always wanted to revisit the CoP and return it to something players could participate in, and with Issue 18 we will be doing just that.

The new implementation of the Cathedral of Pain gives the choice of a number of rewards to players, but it does not contain Items of Power.

Base Raiding is currently on hold and not being actively worked on. We understand that this may disappoint some of you in the PvP community, but we wanted to tell it to you straight to minimize any confusion or false hope that Base Raiding would be addressed in this new iteration of the Cathedral of Pain.

Thanks,

Huh?

How can it be co-op if you need a base to start it? Also, where did you read that on the overview page? Sounded to me like they were giving villains at least some measure of access to the Shadow Shard.
