Do Leadership powers stack?

2 people in the same group with assault - does it stack? or, should only one person have it active at a time? Thanks in advance.

Hell yes they stack, and it's fan-freaking-tastic. Stacked leadership is the most underrated tactic in the game.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

They are meant to stack, multiple times.

Hell, several of my VEATs double up on Assault and Maneuvers with the Leadership pool.

I always thought it kinda funny that they did stack.

I mean, it's called "Leadership." This would imply that the character who takes the powers is the "leader." So a whole team of leaders? That'd be like herding cats.

Perhaps if it was called "Teamwork" instead from the get-go. Oh well, that's ship's sailed.

Anywho, yes. Leadership powers stack and are awesome when done so.

Have you seen the average PUG?

Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

The only power that isn't exactly stackable is vengeance. It used to be, but now you have to do some trick with tp to stack it.

Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.

The Leadership powers are like CoH's own Prisoner's Dilemma. They're okay by themselves, but great if everyone has them. But since not everyone has them, few people take them to realize their greatness.

Best PuG I was ever in had 6 Maneuvers, 5 assault, and 4 tactics.

And even more so, because if ENOUGH people have them, the rest of the team doesn't need them and can then take other "cooler" powers. So the "selfish" people (in the language of game theory, not really selfish) benefit from Leadership without having to take it themselves.

So you get teams where no one has Leadership and everyone wishes the rest of the team took it.

The same thing happens with Stealth/TP or even Medicine pool.

Not enough people take it in PuGs

In my SG we try to stack it as much as we can.

H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

Good way to put it. I'd love to see some CoX pact, one where all players that teamed would take Maneuvers and add 2 slots for Def. Heck, even just taking Assault would improve most all teams (obvious exception of the team with a Kin that manages to FS an entire team and keep it up).

Personally I have my own pact that I adhere to, where all of my VEATs, Defs and Corrs take at least 2 Leadership, trollers and MMs have at least 1. Blasters and Doms I try to sneak in Assault. Meleers sometimes take Maneuvers, but not always.

Actually, I use them to (selfishly) softcap my defenses or to bump up my damage on certain defenders. Depending on your build, Maneuvers may give your character more bang for the buck than taking three powers from the Fighting pool (which I often wind up doing on my melee characters). It depends on the AT and your power selections.

Several times I've been on all MasterMind StrikeForces, where each player had Maneuvers, Assault and Tactics. It was always so awesome to behold.

That's potentially 24 leadership toggles and 56 allies running around. The whole Arachnos army has nothing on that.

Don't worry it gets even more insane when you start thinking that those MMs are Thug MMs. Since the leadship buffs the LTs give stack with all other Thugs. So add in that you have 48 toggles on all the pets with 24 on each of the MMs. You begin to see the pets do things not normal. And the very funny part the only hard part is getting that many people to play thug MM, if you all pick different secondaries there isn't really anything you can't do.

if you had 8 players with all 3 toggles, what would the numbers look like..besides awesome?

Capped damage, ridiculously high accuracy and perception, and probably a fair chunk of added defense.

Edit: Yes I know those aren't numbers. But to be fair, when you have super-stacked Leadership powers, it becomes unimportant.

8 Blasters/Scrappers/Tankers/Brutes/Stalkers with slotted Maneuvers: ~27.3% defense (a bit less than a SR Scrapper with SOs)
8 Defenders with slotted Maneuvers: ~42% defense (a bit less than the softcap)
8 Arachnos Widows with slotted Tactical Training: Maneuvers*: ~60% defense
8 Arachnos Soldiers with slotted Tactical Training: Maneuvers*: ~120% defense

8 Blasters/Scrappers/Tankers/Brutes/Stalkers with Assault: +84% damage (2 common IOs outside of ED)
8 Arachnos Soldiers/Arachnos Widows with Tactical Training: Assault*: 120%
8 Defenders with Assault: +150% damage (3/4 Fury bar)

8 Blasters/Scrappers/Tankers/Brutes/Stalkers with slotted Tactics: ~84% tohit
8 Arachnos Soldiers/Arachnos Widows with slotted Tactical Training: Leadership*: ~120% tohit
8 Defenders with slotted Tactics: ~150% tohit (level 50 players will reach capped tohit with +125.35%)

* For regular Maneuvers, Arachnos Soldiers and Arachnos Widows have the same values as Defenders. For regular Assault and for Tactics, Arachnos Soldiers and Arachnos Widows have the same values as Controllers and Corruptors. Of course, the Arachnos ATs can stack all 6 toggles

A little off topic but on a recent ITF on Liberty, we somehow got stacked vengeance from my Huntsman Build and a Defender on the team. It was like a one-in-a-million chance thing. We simultaneously hit Vengeance. It may have been do to "lag hill" but it was still amazing. Of course it was mostly Kheld ITF so the double vengie was great on em...

Leadership is one my favorite Power Pools in the game..highly underrated for what it can accomplish on teams.
