In case you missed it in the PAX thread, and because it's a good old forum tradition to start a new thread with a new issue title in it as soon as it's learned about!

Details courtesy of Newsarama:

Quote:
Incarnate System will be 10 Incarnate levels
the first level will be available in Going Rogue, along with new incarnate abilities
Issue 19 will bring 9 more levels and more abilities
New Rewards, new Zone Events, and the "End Game system"
Going Rogue will be required to play the End Game system

But wouldn't we usually wait until we had the thread about Issue 18? Or did I miss that thread?

Wait? Wait? *insane laugh*

Joking apart, we don't actually know what Issue 18 is called yet...

Issue 18: Going Rogue

Even if it's not called that I imagine that 18 and GR will be released at the same time

I'm very intigued, but yah what about i18? I feel backwards...

I know - which is why I wonder if the thread about I19 is slightly premature... We have a name and know that there's 10 incarnate levels - but little else.

Although I'm wondering why the 10 levels arrive as 1 with GR and 9 in I19...

Is I18 not bringing more, or will that be a sort-of-pseudo-issue mainly providing GR-compatability?

If I19 is called Incarnates, but you need Gr to partake in the Incarnate levels... will I19 bring much if anything for non-GR players?

It's almost guaranteed to, like with i6 and CoV. But in that case issue 6 was named "Along came a spider" rather than just "Issue 6: City of Villains", so it's also a good bet that i18 will have a unique title as well.

And... well, even though we don't know it yet, there hasn't exactly been a shortage of Going Rogue threads. So yeah.

Link to the info? It's hard not to call Broad Sword without proof of all of this.

I don't think you made it up, but it sounds like an elaborately made-up rumor. I mean, we don't know the details of Issue 17 (edit: yes, we do) but we know things like "9 more levels" and "Incarnate abilities" from Issue 19?

Going Rogue panel at PAX. Happening right now. Expect a lot more juicy info like this coming in as time goes on (though probably not much more in i19)

issue 17 is changing defender inherents to make them more solo friendly

Also with all the info today....you'd be a fool to not pre purchase GR......jus sayin

It's sounding very much like i19 will be to GR what i7 was to CoV - Finishing off and polishing some of the features. They're finishing the incarnate system and updating existing Praetorian-related content.

Whoa... "all 10 basic archetypes get a new powerset with this expansion"

Damn it was just on my way to post this...

...so we may not have the Incarnate AT but our characters are effectively turning into one, sweet holy molasses!

"There are other new powersets "on the whiteboard" that will make it into future expansions, including staff use"

BAM!

Posted

Probably safe to say it'll be Issue 18: Going Rogue, but who knows? I kinda like "Along Came A Tyrant",

Scrappers, Stalkers, Tanks and Brutes get Kinetic Melee
Dominators and Controllers get Electric Control
Masterminds get Demon Summoning
Defenders, Corruptors and Blasters get Dual Pistols

So, we buy GR, then we have to wait months for the content to be actually available in the game?

You get the first level of the Incarnate system in GR. Then in I19 you get the other 9 levels.

If you buy it now, you get to use Dual Pistols right away, then Demon Summoning and other things ( I forget which ones) in Issue 17 in April, and then the rest with the official launch.

Uh... I can't get the link to work for me but if that's seriously what they're calling a melee set, I'm going to have to start a campaign of harassing the red names until they open up a physics text book and realize what a stupid name this is. I understand it's probably a reference to the Kinetics support set but the name should be recognized as unacceptably silly to anyone with a cursory understanding of mechanical physics...

That said... I would love to be able to yell out "Fulcrum...PAAAAAAAUNCH!" should that be a power name.

The part about Kinetic Melee that bothers me in the melee part. In the video it didn't look like he ever hit his enemies...
