Going Rogue at PAX

Yeah the mind races with ideas now. Such as: "I totally did not move enough toons off my home server for this."

While Super Reflexes makes sense with the "Chi" look of the attacks, I'm thinking Willpower for Kinetic Combat. The real question is how much range will you use, what PBAoE it has and is it a good idea to be in point blank melee with it.

I can see blasters wanting this. Energy Blast/Kinetic Manipulation would give us 1,000s of Goku wannabes running around. Or for something less stomach turning: HADOKEN! (EDIT: It's what I get for not reading the full thread - at least I'm not the only one thinking it!).

Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.

I think they look cool! Plus it's my understanding that we might not have seen the fully upgraded version? Since these look just like the concept art.

Heh. Skinless exposed musculature and a skeletal head is just fine, but the head being out of proportion... oh, the horror!!!

How can GR go into closed beta next week when we are still in i17 closed beta?
In the past, there have been more than one Training Room server running at the same time. In those instances, they were running identical code, but I would suppose they don't necessarily have to...

That's just what I was thinking! A receptionist to handle tells and emails, a couple of accountants to manage market slots and fees and the different kinds of merits, a chauffeur so I won't need to use public transportation, a caddy to lug around salvage and enhancement drops, a motivational speaker to take care of all my inspiration needs... Sounds great!

A: It is something on the slate, but it will be a couple of Issues from now. Base Raids, Items of Power are also planned on being repurposed but fixed.

Also no market merger (confirmed yet again boo)
That was me. I later interrogated War Witch and Mod 8 about PvP during the Meet and Greet, bringing up a lot of the old wounds from I13, and learning a lot more about what happened on their side with it. Long and short, it's gonna get looked at again, but the PvP community needs to show that there's a need/desire for additional adjustments to PvP, as well as a viable player base that will be affected by positively by changes.

Server transfers helped, the leage (no U!) helps, but we do need to keep it moving and working. So, established PvP'ers, bring in the newbs. New players, try it, it's not ALWAYS as bad as ya fear/heard.

Also, lolz Dull Blade brutes in PvP.

Yeah I know it's weird isn't it but for some reason the head being out of proportion bugs me even more than it should do...lord knows why...just makes them look like Superdeformed (chibi if you will) style, like very evil bobbleheads.

I'm excited about Incarnates but am worried about tying levels to zone events...a player might not encounter the event when online, what then?
Perhaps if players can precipitate events or enable them...

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.

I was excited to see confirmation about epic power pools with side switching. So villains becoming heroes can use APPs and heroes becoming villains can access Patron pools. I'm wondering if at level 50 will have to switch to that side's epics or if they'll be allowed to keep the powers they already have?

I'm also really excited about the Doppelganger system. I like how Posi said it's the kinda next step from the MA critter designing system. It was a little vague on if we'll have control of our Doppelgangers or if the game will generate them for us when we start the mission. Either way it's awesome.

I think these zone wide events would be started by players more deliberately than what we already have, such as the "chance to start Zombie Apocalypse upon turning in Halloween Salvage."

I tried PVP before I13. I tried PVP after I13.

In my experiences its NOT as bad as I feared\heard.. It was much, much worse.

But it works for some people, and everyone should try it once or twice if only to form their opinion from their own experience.

I'll personally never do it again. (Well maybe to get badges, but I'm not really even certain on that.)

I kinda hate PvP, both because I stink at it and what it brings out of people at times. That said: Rock on. CoH didn't launch with PvP but we darn sure had a ton of resources put into it for it not be more used.

More power to you and I'll gladly be PvP fodder if it can be made more fun and to the PvP communities liking (wait...is that two different things?). Good luck, Errant!

They look very, very like the doggie thing from the first Hellboy movie in fact.

Rather big and bulky too, when they go live Villains is going to be City of Door Blocking for a bit.

Just don't ask for it as an actual power set - you wouldn't like it when BAB is angry

I really like the summoning animation... looked to me like the big demon was using fire and ice powers? It will be interesting to see what all creatures can do.

The whip was like 1 of only 3 good things in Champions Online. I can live without it (as my refusal to go near CO testifies to) but we're teetering upon a mastermind/dual pistol situation here.....!

Yeah, the second the official video goes live, I think it'll tip straight into, "Y'know, what would be cool? Fire whips powerset for scrappers."

And then after BAB stops weeping and rocking backwards and forwards in a corner, he'll hunt down anyone who made the suggestion

Nope. People have already asked for whips, both regular and fire.

And they want them for blasters.

Yes. They want a hand-held weapon (yes, a long one, but still) for the ranged attack specialist.

Then again, they wanted a projectile weapon for the melee attackers, so I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised.

Personally I think whips (fire or otherwise) make the most sense as an Assault set.

Here's something from the PAX Q&A that I've not seen mentioned yet, when talking about how GR zone designs are made to tell the story of Paretoria:

Quote:
"as you're flying over one Praetroian island to the next"
Which I think is a pretty big clue as to how they're going to handle the lack of war walls.
