Have you ever overdosed on a power?

Super Power Overdose: To be so fascinated with a power that you lose any, all, and every bit of perspective on how to properly use it; You spam it constantly and slot it to heck with things it doesn't need.

My OD Powers:

1) Gale: This is, to me, the funniest power in the game. In my amateur opinion, it benefits very very little, and has all the benefit of walking past the TV screen during your room mate's viewing of House. That being said, I've slotted it for maximum accuracy and distance, and literally have trouble containing laughter as I spam it across all the Minions during a mission.

2) Share Pain: You get stronger by transferring HP loss from a team mate to you. BRILLIANT! As someone who both loves buffs and playing support, this power is a toxic cocktail. Twice during my lunch break today, I "Share Pain"'d my way directly into death, proceeding then to switch my battle strategy into guilting the surviving team mate into believing my death was on his hands.

3) Poison Trap: This has been my signature power for three years, and I'm still not sure of everything it does or when the right time to use it is. My guiding principle has and will be until the servers die: Is this an enemy I'd love to see vomit?

Mine is Lightening Rod.
I just got it for the first time over the weekend and, although I knew it was going to be good, it exceeded my expectations of awesome.
I found myself using it on groups that really didn't need it and for a while I would just use it if it was recharged when running between missions just to see it.

I don't have experience with any of the powers that you listed, but they all sound like a lot of fun

Assassin's Claw with my Stalker. Sometimes twice-a-spawn, it never, ever gets old. That wind-up, stab-and-RRRIP animation and the satisfaction of the one-shot makes it my go-to Every. Single. Time.

Confuse powers for me I love watching the baddies beat each other up. When I got to perez park I sometimes just confuse and watch to see who the last standing is.

I solo a lot and my choices reflect that...

Trip Mine: I love it when fearsome melee types charge my blaster, only to go flying once they hit the minefield.

Burn: Whenever my Spines/FA scrapper is surrounded and activates this, the baddies' reaction always reminds me of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." (i.e. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!)

Hehe, you do that too? On my Mind/Emp Controller I sometimes 'get bored' and just confuse lowbie mobs and watch to see who wins as well...

Another vote for Lightning Rod from me. Also Lightning Storm...I love anything lightning pretty much (except for most of the Elec. Blast set ...I love the Elec. Blast's nuke though!).

I'm also really starting to enjoy Singularity/Wormhole. I have Sing out, use Wormhole and tp the mobs on top of/near my Singy and then when they get tp'ed from Wormhole the mobs bounce off of my Singy...hehe!

Gale is pretty good too (have it on my Storm/Psy Def.)...

Fulcrum Shift is still pretty good but back when it had the original sound effects...oh yes...loved it!

In fact I like most of the Kinetics powers...Siphon Speed/Power....just love the "sucking something from the enemy and giving it to me" animations.

Propel. I've always liked the animation....sure it may not be the best damaging power but...man it's fun to throw a random object at a mob!

There's more....but can't think of any atm.

Edit: Oh yeah...and Poison Trap from the Traps set...love that power!

My top 3

1. Hover. It's just so cool looking. I keep it running on certain characters all the time, even in tight enclosed spaces like the twisty caves where it's mostly useless. I've squandered an awful lot of End feeding this addiction.

2. Power Thrust. The most super super power of them all. And you can get it at level 1!

3. Soul Storm. That it's Ghost Widow's signature power is quite awesome in itself. That it puts you in the ultimate megalomaniac villain pose when you use it is extremely awesome.

Ground punch (footstomp). Thankfully it is one of my best tools as a tank but despite it being an AoE I will spend the endurance to use it every time it's up even if it's against one mob.

My Sonic/En has hers 6 slotted and at 50, going back to Atlas Park and punting Hellions to the other side of the map never gets old. Makes me giggle every time.


For me, Fearsome Stare. It's still so awesome to just walk up to a spawn and shout "FEAR ME!" as it goes off then sit and laugh while they cower. Mwa ha ha ha!!!

Lets see...

Energy Torrent - While the overall range sucks, it warms my heart when I catch a fair size mob in it and send 'em flying.

Tornado - Seeing a whirling vortex sending critters everywhere is a another gleeful thing. Problem is it usually bugs the themed group I run with that has the Storm/Electric Def I use Tornado with...

Confuse - When I'm running a character that has it, my tactical judgement can get skewed. Case in point: Running my Illusion/Thermal 'Troller the other night in the first mission of the 10-14 Vhazilok Storyline. I was trying to confuse the Embalmed ones to blow themselves up and not really paying attention to anything else. But it's so much fun to see them blow up...

Hand Clap. There's just something so fun about seeing that whole group surrounding you go flying. And as it doesn't do any damage, you can do it again and again and again...

Propel. You say it's laughably slow DPS? You say I could use three holds while it is animating? You noticed that the team already killed the MOB while I was winding up to fire it? I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sheer awesome of THROWING A CAR AT MY ENEMIES!

I'm much the same about Sniper attacks, actually. Not while on a team, again, like Propel my team has usually killed the foe before I can fire the shot. But solo, I just ran my Dominator though the "Kidnap Akarist" mission last night, picking off the Longbow one by one from so far away they were never alerted.

Kheldian shapeshifting. It's a good thing that "dancing", or constant form shifting is considered a viable strategy, because I'd do it anyway. Pound the bad guy. BOOM! Blast the guy on the other side of the room with a beam. BOOM! Drain a guy to heal. BOOM! Drain a guy to heal again. BOOM! Stygian Circle.

Jump Kick. Most of the time I avoid it, but sometimes it's just too funny. My female Crab Spider, when she Jump Kicks, her crab legs embed themselves in the ground. I can't get enough of that.

Force Bolt. From the top of a building. 'Nuff said.

Tar Patch on my Mastermind. You mean there's other ways to aggro a spawn? Hey, I didn't three-slot this puppy for Recharge in order to not use it on every enemy I see.

I'm not sure I'm really overdosing on Tesla Cage, but I do tend to sling it around. A lot...

Fear powers, of any kind. This is why I want Dark Miasma ported to Controllers, so that I can make a Mind Control/Dark Miasma Controller with Intimidate and Invoke Panic from the Presence pool. Then I'd probably pick up Power Boost from Primal Forces Mastery.

Toe bombing with cloaking device, smoke grenade and trip mine on my electric/devices/electric blaster. Really it would be more efficient to just blast them away with attacks. I just like making it go boom!

Second best is spending three minutes laying out a minefield for a boss fight. With two holds I could just hold him in place and blow away his hit points faster than the time it takes to set the mines.

Shield Charge. I will use it on a single underling if that's what's around when it's done recharging. It makes me giggle like a schoolgirl every single time I use it.

Psychic Shockwave, how I love thee. What's that? One minion left? RrRrRRRAAAHH!!!!


Also, Speed Boost. I love Speed Boost. It's my favorite buff to both give and receive. I don't even mind the short duration when buffing with it on teams, because it means that the entire time I'm on that mission, in a fight or out, I am spamming buttons like a madman on meth. Freneticism!

One power that for me tops all other powers for melee:

Fault: IT's down to earth just a kick *** power. ok it does no damage..but its one of the misunderstood powers. using your foot to break the earth around u and send people into a drunken state is a simple lol power. plus it helps with team protection and damage migration.

I just made a plant/storm summoning controller a few weeks ago and I am seriously getting addicted to Seeds of Confusion...especially mixed with Freezing Rain. Watching a group of bad guys fight each other while slip-sliding and landing on their butts. Sometimes I don't even use my Roots just so I can watch the show.

Also, Carrion Creepers is a big mug full o' awesome. Watching a bunch of vines pop out of the ground that start smacking the bad guys around and off their feet is a real fun-fest.

My Controller is lvl 29 now...Can't wait until I hit lvl 38 and get Tornado and T-Storm as well. Plant/SS seems like it is going to have a real big bag of toys to keep me amused for some time.

I am also working on an Elec Melee/Shield Defense toon that is at 39. I have to agree with those that say Lightning Rod and Shield Charge are addictive. Very, very fun powers.

Crane kick- hey, he is 30 levels lower than me....wonder how far he will fly? its like Adam and Jamie invited chick lidell along

also, ice slick, watching a bunch of enemies pop around like popcorn is the definition of happiness, adding in freezing rain from my controller makes me giggle like a little kid.

oh and sterling is right, carrion creepers are much fun..plus they force you to toss them on huge groups to see how much i can grow at once...in the itf, i make forests.
