Wouldn't count on it. I grew up in the Bay Area and being able to see the Golden Gate not shrouded in fog was very much the exception to the rule. The one time I ever walked across the Golden Gate Bridge it was windy and foggy and generally miserable.

Of course, generally speaking the weather in San Jose will be nicer than San Francisco (not as windy/foggy) but still, I wouldn't expect it to be warm. Pack layers.

And to complicate things, I don't have a laptop that can run CoH..A good gaming laptop is tres expensive- not in the budget right now
Weather is usually fairly good up until the last week of October, however things have been a bit odd for the last week. We should get a last blast of good weather (too hot for me unfortunately) and then we'll all be crossing our fingers for Hero-Con. Halloween is usually pretty dicey.

The one saving grace is that weather is rarely that bad. No blizzards, no hurricanes, just kinda drab.

And she'd spawn random mobs dependant on zones...rain o' Mitos anyone?

In my version of the Halloween event, every door would spawn a completely random set of critters disguised as some other random set of critters that you would have to defeat to get your treat.

So you might get a Rikti Monkey wearing a Jurassik costume that you can easily put down. Then again if you find a Cog packing laser beam eyes and total focus with thirty thousand health you might want to consider an easier door.

You can cause a zombie attack on a random zone by trading in the Halloween salvage for the 5th costume slot.

Yes, yes they were. Not by me, mind you (I wouldn't post them). But PIGG diving is pretty much the only way one can harvest that type of info.

Heh, imagine how it feels to those of us for whom it never had any charm to begin with.

I hope they fixed the spawning rate for this year for critters. I remember that last year I think we had a problem with ghosts and vamps, I think.

I second this wish, the winter event especially gets dull with people running it all gray.

Come to wales We'ld literally kill for an afternoon of sun

Seriously, the other day we had maybe 4/5 hours max of sun and people were starting to talk about a heatwave

I really hope they don't extend the use of the invasion code. It's fine for free for alls with dozens of heroes or villains in the same place, but if you've ever fought an invasion event rikti or zombie solo with a low level character you'll know they are 'even-con' in name only, being far more resistant to your damage than a genuine equivalent level enemy of the same rank.

Don't give me that Damz, it's sunny right now, in North Wales, I know I can see it outside the window and it has been most of the week

For Baby New Year, the invasion code won't be needed. The entire team will be adjusted to the level of the Mission Owner under the new SSK rules, meaning that you CAN'T run an all-grey mission for easy rewards.

Well, not easily. You can take the mission, outlevel it and then do it with a team and they'll all be grey to everyone.

It isn't that they resist damage, it's that they have a native level despite having no visible level. That code basically says that you do as much damage to it as you would do to an even-con of the same rank. Problem being that a level 5 doing the same numerical damage to something that has level 30 or level 50 hit points as they do to a level 5 is struggling to whittle it down. If they somehow made it so that you did the same proportion of the total hit points instead, the disparity would only be in how much enhancement the level 5 has compared to a level 30 or level 50. That would even out the offense side of the no level mob code to what the defensive side of it is, but I doubt it would be easy to do.

There'll be some new stuff, but all the content from the previous events will also be around - not every player has seen it all

I really feel sorry for new players.

It seems every year they add more stuff... it's gotten to the point that unless you play a ton during the time of the event it will likely take more than that one year to achieve all of the different badges and such. My main redside badger is still in need of Ghosts and a few other things from last year... we shall see what exactly got added.

I'm always up for some new event stuff. It gives me a reason to dust off my 50 and actually play as him.

Ghosts were scarce last year due to some glitch. Hopefully they've taken care of that for this year. The fact that they're going to be testing this event is already a good idea.

OTOH, I've never had problems defeating Zombies that use the same code in the Halloween events using my low level characters, besides their Toxic damage. Is there empirical data on this matter, or is this just based upon subjective observations? I tried looking up this topic in the Paragon Wiki, without much success.

I will also point out that the zombie Halloween event from last year was unleashed by surprise by the devs at HeroCon, which is scheduled =this= year on Oct 24-25.

I tell you, it was a kick in the big computer room, all these people playing the zombiepocalypse, players going berserk about it in broadcast, and the devs standing around watching over our shoulders, grinning the biggest grins ever.
