Power Customization is going to be crazy. My eyes are reeling from a quick trip inside the tailor in Steel. Tinted Dispersion Bubbles can be VERY distracting. So far I've seen bright purple, an ugly tan yellow, and a bright red. I went with a low-visibility dark grey combo on my FF Defender. A lot of the colour choices look great, but some are quite garish. I'd imagine that will calm down some when the newness wears off though.

That's pretty much all I've really seen of i16 so far. I don't have any great solo ATs to mess around with the new difficulty settings. Oh, and I guess there's a lot of gloating in Atlas/Cap.

Eh. There's a lot of really neat new toys, things I'm definitely excited about. But until we get some new story content, I'm going to have a hard time talking myself into playing with any of it. I see myself unsubscribing until Going Rogue hits, even though I'm very grateful that I'll have all these new options available when I get to GR's content.

Nice features, but not much that catches my interest.

I've had a character concept in mind for some time that I've finally been able to bring to life and I'm enjoying it. I spent a good deal of time just playing with power customization. I also like being able to see my level without having to bring up personal info. :P

I don't know if its my imagination or not, but I think I'm finding enemies in odd places. Has the 5th column always shown up in Steel, or have I just never noticed before?

Edit: Forgot the new difficulty options too. So far I'm loving I16. Looking forward to Going Rogue now.

That's new.

This is going to be a massive time waster for me, as many characters are having to take a trip to the tailor. It gets way worse when you consider you can do different colors on each costume.

The 5th in Steel are new.

I only had 2 hours to play before coming to work.

I made a Radiation/Fire blaster. Sgt. Toxic
Matched the color of fire to the radiation green and must say I'm really impressed. Such a little change goes a long way towards making a toon more playable.
Ring of fire really looked like it was intense radiation holding them. I was afraid I wouldn't roll up a Rad toon without a matching secondary. I really just rolled him up to check out the update.
Once I saw what it'd look like having both primary and secondary colored the same I realized I 'do' have a radiation secondary!

So then I logged on my level 40 MM.
I cruised over to the Fate Weaver and was glad to see the new system is easy to comprehend. I set my levels to be treated like a 4 man team with enemies +1 to me with bosses and Heroes.
I clicked on a freakshow paper mish and went to town.

It was wonderful!! This MM has gone solo his entire career and wanted to feel challenged like this since level 20!
I had large groups of freaks, with bosses in every mob. My zombies ate so much they'll be spitting up chunks of metal and wires for days!
My debuffs actually felt important for once as well.

When I get home I'm planning on cranking it up to 8 man setting and see if I can handle it.

I really like I16. First thing I did was disable in-game email on all my toons. Second, I adjusted my mish difficulty to +4/x8 (on my Tanker) and did a few radio missions--was awesome! And last, I tinkered around a bit with some color tinting. Two thumbs up.

the new sking is quite good actually tbh, but the pop up afgter every mission gets abit annoying sometime and it only has the accept or quit team choice

could do with a no sk ty option. broad sword stalker feels wierd but nice. and go ftw with arch/ta corrs.

colours so far look alright

I expect I'll roll several new characters - I played about with a broadsword stalker on test, and I have a couple of other concepts in mind as well.

Power colours don't interest me much, except for the min fx settings - I usually play with suppressclosefx enabled. I expect I'll play around with it a bit though (and if I can get rid of the annoying golden glow of WP I will be happy) That said, the alternate animation for MA's assassin strike means I'll be returning to a stalker I abandoned at level 6 because I hated the original AS so much.

My favourite new feature by far is the difficulty settings. This will actually make soloing at high levels challenging (and therefore interesting) again. No longer will I have to go all the way out to the Fab when I want to test myself

Haven't tried the SSKing yet, but hopefully that and the AE adjustments (nerf is such an ugly word...) will revitalise regular casual teaming a bit.

Since I've been playing I've seen the launch of I13, 14 and 15, and now I16. I16 is easily the best of them.

Oh, and good riddance to the emails.

there's an option in your menu to choose what level to be prompted about SSK set it to 50 it'll never ask again

Too many people in Icon. Not enough people in the AE. Game is not fun at all today. Hopefully the AE will gain popularity later in the week.

I have only had a chance to play with the new difficulty options. Very entertaining, and my dark/dark defender is once again a challenge to pay.

Other than getting a whole mess of badges from the requirement changes, I haven't really experienced much but am looking forward to some power customization.

I've been spending too much time with changing colors. On the upside, I've logged on with characters I hadn't played in months and found a few of them refreshing to play. I might start playing some of these.

Also, Force of Nature on my Trick Archery Defender... Yummy. Is that supposed to give that kind of resistance? Combined with Temp Invul I'm capping Smashing and Lethal Res and when I've slotted FoN, I'll be capping all but Psi. That's awesome, just what I needed.

EDIT: I had a few problems getting into a door mission, though. The loading screen came up and just froze. I had to kill CoH via the Task Manager to close it and I had a color change not stick on a Scrapper of mine.

I agree that the lack of new content sucks, but I can see why they are focusing on qol stuff that has been asked for since the testing stages of the game, this stuff is foundational, adding to the base of the game so that it's out of the way by the time gr comes out so after they can focus on content, perphaps even going back and reviewing old stuff *cough* posi *cough*

Or the really forgotten one in Founders Falls.

Most of this issue is meh for me. I have maybe 2 new characters I'd like to play but have no desire to start them any time soon. The whole power recoloring thing is nigh-useless to me as well, I was happy with the way things looked before and now just have to be annoyed with "ok, WHAT power was that which just went off?" from now on.

I still don't plan to ever play Spines, even with the new options.

No improvements to AE either. Well, there were a few UI additions but the massive nerfing to custom critters for no good reason overshadows them greatly.

The supersidekicking is nice and would have been great before the AE nerfs hit. One of the reasons it was so hard to get a non-farming team going was because you could never find people who were near the same level.

So far so good for me.

I gave my little Bug Spines/Inv Scrapper a makeover - with neon green/yellow crystal spines and bright green Inv effects.

Suits him very well indeed

I then took my Fire/Fire/Fire Tank and did some solo +8 mob radios - which was a whole lotta fun.

I also made a Rad/Elec Blaster and changed the elec colours to bright green (again)

It was a bonus that he was able to get a Raptor Pack in the Shard at lev 2 - and thus no need to do the usual Kings Row radio mission run. I have nothing against the Kings Row run, but I was a little tired of having to do the same sequence at low level everytime to get it.

I plan to make an Elec/Regen Scrapper tomorrow and also perhaps a Traps/Ice Defender.

I like i16 so far. My only complaint is the lack of new content .... roll on GR and i17 I suppose for that.

I'm hearing good things about the UI tweaks (i.e. graphical clean-up).

I'm at work 'til midnight ET and very curious - could someone post a screenie of the reworked UI?

Please?

In the short time I was on, I was able to find a color combo that really made psionic blasting "pop". Can't wait to try it out in a team. Unfortunately, no one seems to be teaming. They're all in the tailor shops, including the "forgotten" one in IP. Walked into it and was surprised there was no lag there were so many.

Found one possible bug. On the very brief time I did manage to find a team, the team member locations frequently changed. Particularly from "on mission map" to some zone or other. They were not on a mission at the time.
