I love the power customization...so nice to colour my bubbles!

In love with the mission setting. My Spine/SR had been hanging on to a lvel 47 Banished Pantheon mission, not really touching it except for badge purposes.

Now though? Set for 7, no bosses, -1 level.
MOWING ZOMBIES LIKE NO TOMORROW!!!! Making tens of millions per run, resetting, MOWING ZOMBIES AS IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!

Full. Of. Win.

Oh, knocked off Master ITF with a capable team last night on Champion.

The mission settings are crazy nice.
Think I rolled a Mind/Cold and a Sonic/Trick Arrow too.

Awesome issue, content soon please.

Level 47 at -1 is level 46? Wouldn't it be better to leave them at 47 where they have a chance to drop purple recipes?

They are spawning at 47. I miswrote. My mission is Level 48, -1 level to 47 and getting level 50 Recipe drops. I'm too lazy to log into game again but my setup was netting me level 47 mobs and lots of them.

Not a lot of recipes though, but perhaps this is WAI.

I love the colouring of various powersets (though slightly upset they didn't give Masterminds any pet customisations) and I welcome most of the AE changes with open arms. I for one was rather sick of fighting wave after wave of endless boss monsters. Not only was the "all boss" scenario overused it was plain boring and showed a desparing lack of originality on the part of the designers.

However... I feel the need to RANT about one niggling factoid. Why oh why did they reduce the XP gain to ZERO for mobs who've had their default skills removed? Bear with me on this. I wanted to create a Ninja group. Easy enough, but I've had to use Super Reflexes INSTEAD of Ninjutsu. The reason? Simple. Hide is a DEFAULT power in the Ninjutsu set resulting in a whole map of invisible enemies all capable of instant critical hits! Removing this power means zero XP gain and my storyarc is less enjoyable to anyone who wants to play through it.

Another bearbug is the kinetics nerf. No, not for controllers but for corruptors. Face it, there are NO primary defender-esque powers redside. The closest we get to a defender on villains is a corruptor and they've just had one of their aces demoted. It's painful enough that most of the jobs are too solo-centric, did they really have to swing the bat towards one of the few decent powersets remaining to slowly remove all incentives to team up? The only time I ever see a team villainside is for the occasional SF...

Anyway ranting over. I'm happy for the most part but those annoyances are stinging like a hornet and it's hard to see the justification for them. Perhaps one day they'll add a more support oriented (defender style) AT for villains. Until then I hope my team can handle a big dip in attack power.

I should have taken time off work this week. New grav/earth Dom is starting off so nicely.

Have redone 3-4 of my 50s power colors.

Love my new SS brute being able to switch costumes (with the same tailor settings, elec armor visualizations, but different attack options) and have different attacks.

Love soloing a mayhem at +2 x 6, may have to grab some inspirations and crank it higher. Raaar!

Metal Spikes/regen scrapper, with almost no regen visual FXs!! Just put dark red on the heal, a la per her bio, sucking the like out of foes through their blood. Pearline tries to be good she just wasn't drawn that way.

Mains - Freedom: Croatoa - 50 Fire/Psi Dom, Grandville - 50 SS/Elec Brute, Dark-Astoria - 50 Dark/Fire Scrapper, Pearline - 50 Spines/Regen Scrapper, Caffeine Girl - 50 Earth/Kin Troller

This is correct team size overrides individual settings.

With the new ability to choose any power it was far too easy to create creeps that had no attacks and were nothing more then bags of free experience. The current system is a stop gap until the Developers come up with a more robust set of rules to limit abuse of custom creeps.

As to i16 I'm enjoying most every change.

I did have a chance to kick the tires on a couple things while on test but I only have one of my 50's on the test server and that is a corr. So, the first thing I did was grab my dark/fire/Mu Brute and run the Liberate TV mish as a 6 man team. Electric fences/soul drain/burn is very fun and will be even more fun when I crank it up a notch or two. Difficulty sliding is an A++

Then I had to see what energize did for my SS/elec/Mu brute...absolutely thrilled...this will allow a heathly respec out of the healing pool and likely dropping hurl and into the fighting pool...or maybe leadership...either way a more survivable and enjoyable toon. A+

SSK is an A+ hands down...nothing more needs to be said.

I messed with them some on test but never got the chance to play with colors live last night, however, the highlight of my night may have been when a newer player in a coalition SG was being a little "blah" in chat about the whole color thing...until he jumped on a Death Surge team in Cap which happened to have a couple of my freshly recolored SG mates on it. After that team he could not get to the tailor fast enough. Showing people just how good this issue really is: A+++++

The Revenants and Vengeance Imperium-Triumph, Champion & now flavoring Justice!

Tanker Tuesdays & Brutal Thursdays. If you like fun, look'em up!

Shhh! Rangle is plotting.

#1 on my list was wanting that declared additional ancillary/patron pool option as forcasted. When announced, scrappers were cited merely as an 'example', not as 'only'. There had been too much specificity for it to be merely 'misworded'.

Was there perhaps an official retraction and rewording prior to live that I missed?

Issue 16 will also improve on the Epic Power Pools. Each archetype is getting an additional power set in their epic power pool, and each power set is getting an additional power so that there will be five powers from which to choose. Using the scrapper as an example: Blaze Mastery was a power set added to the Epic Power Pool which will include the powers Ring of Fire, Char, Fire Blast, Melt Armor, and Fireball. In addition the Body Mastery power set had the power Physical Perfection added for a total of five powers.
Not that they'd necessarily get it, but I know I myself was praying this added pool might consist of a mez prot for corruptors.

Having the AE die back in popularity -- particularly with regard to the AEtards who disappear into the AE building at level 1 and are only seen outside to train until they hit 50 -- is far from a drawback to me...

"AE team" has become synonymous with XP farming. I've already played some AE with a good team, because I joined them outside of the AE and then asked if they wanted to do a fun story mission. They agreed, so in we went. I think it'll take some time for people to get used to "AE team starting" sounding like fun, but it'll happen eventually.

-I love the new character creation format.

-Power coloring is awesome. Power tinting is tricky, especially trying to sync up the two.

-Haven't gotten my Claws/SR Brute werewolf past lvl...3? No real opinion yet there.

-Might do an Earth/Earth Dom for S's&G's.

-Scrappers finally have superheroey energy powers that I haven't leveled up to 36 before! Huzzah!

-Supersidekicking, I need to look into more. I love the concept, the timered wall of text that appears when you join a team, enter a mission with that same team, and leave a mission with that same team, jury's still out on. Why is it timered? Why does it pop up so much? I don't mind reading anything in game, hell, I -like- reading things in game, but the timer throws me off.

-And finally, haven't gotten to look into it much yet, but is there a bug (and word on a fix if so) with the tailor tokens that were supposed to be issued according to the number of costumes you have?

And then go back in once they hit lvl 50 for reason I don't even want to think about, but anyway, agreed.

I love this game even more now . Going to have to make time this weekend to improve the color of my toons powers . Love the ssk , and mishs are more enjoyable now , doubt AE will go away and I don't want it to , but looking forward to the new structure in lvling for it . Besides some lag issues , really enjoying this issue . Man I wish it was 4:30 so I could go home and log on .

It's not a bug. You haven't received your expected number of tailor tokens because they haven't been issued yet. (or the Devs hate you, your pick )

The tailor tokens are going to be issued after the server maintenance on Friday.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

One of the reasons it was argued in beta that the RWZ should remain level-gated.

I really like the power customization. Gave me a reason to use a few of the 63 free tailor tokens my main had squirrelled away. It's rather well done, and I'm glad it's linked to costumes. Haven't tried the mission difficulty features or super-sidekicking, but that's mainly because I don't actually feel like playing any of my characters at the moment. I'm certainly glad that they're there for when GR hits, however. Overall, looks like a very nice QoL Issue.

Grrrr...

Well, the only two sets I have any interest in customizing are Ice Assault and Earth Control/Assault. Since I haven't had time to roll the Earth Dom yet, I went to work on my old Ice Dom.

And found it to be pointless. All I wanted to do was change the models on Ice Sword, Ice Sword Circle, and Ice Slash to all be the same so that I'd be rid of that annoying thing where each attack changes the size of the sword.

The problem is that once you change away from the default ice sword for that power, you lose all the cool bright shinyness that ice sword had. The color tinted version is so friggin' dull looking and there is no way to get the colors anywhere near as bright and shiny as the default weapon model.

My thoughts in a nutshell: Meh.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good add-on, and much needed. However after playing for a few weeks on another [not to be named] super hero MMO, it's too little too late. And no I am not leaving CoH, I love this community, and as long as it's here, I will maintain a presence.

Specifically, after over 5 years of asking for it, we finally got the changes to the animations of Super strength, so that a "punch" actually looks like a punch, and a "haymaker" looks like an haymaker. And I love the ground punch animation for Footstomp. However, in that other game's super strength, it's just soo much more. More powerfull looking, more powerfull feeling. Knockback that does additional damage. I could go on, but not here.

I am looking forward to GR though, that should be very fun. I guess after 5+ years of almost continous play here, I need a break from it, a change of pace.

I agree with most of this. I logged on, played with colors, checked the new power prolif etc. It is a nice issue but another issue that didn't really provide us with much new stuff to do. It seems the quick and easy is to re-hash old missions. They have done it so often and it was one of the reasons I took a break. I think I might be staying away until GR. This issue has a lot of cool stuff but the game has stagnated and just looks old now.

I don't mind the graphics too much here. I just want quality and not quantity.

Also, is it just me or have there been very few people logging on lately? It seems the numbers are down. I can't find the subscriber numbers on the NC Soft site. Anyone have this link?

I'm excited that I can create a challenge for my brute that doesnt involve archvillains with the difficulty slider.

Not super-impressed with the new SS animations although the ground pound is pretty sweet

looking forward to a new /elec brute or scrapper. Trying to decide on a primary.

They stopped listing them a short while after I14 came out, from what I understand.

Wouldn't it be awesome if it you actually spent forever leveling up a character? As in literally forever? How awesome would the game have to be if for you to be willing to play it forever. And how super awesome would it that Death itself wouldn't be able to stop watching you play over your shoulder long enough to tote your soul off into the afterlife. You'd be immortal and entertained!

Although, I suppose if you're more cynical you could view it as some kind of eternal punishment. IE, replace the fire and pitchforks with an uncomfortable chair and an eternal climb to ding level 50 in CoH (undoubtedly on a really bad PUG).

(This post is all in good fun, and I truly regret that you feel the leveling pace of the game has become too slow for your tastes)
