I won't miss the crowds in AE at all. And now there are other farming alternatives, I don't think AE will come close to its former prominence. Diversity of mission choice will be better for the game.

That's correct.

Biggest shock I got playing today?

I went to the AE building in Atlas just to make sure none of my arcs had become invalid. I hesistated because of the wall of lag I normally get when I'm close to that wretched building. I zone in and.....

Empty??!?!?!

I was the only hero in the Atlas park AE building at 2pm central!!

Of course, everyones more than likely clustered in icon or busy rolling through radios to try the new settings. Still, it was a nice surprise!

I will though. The AE is the only place I really have fun in this game aside from working on my SG base. I hate fedex missions. I hate running around talking to contacts. I just want to smash things. With an 8 man team. That's all.

I miss the mass crowds in the AE because of the way you could log on any toon, any level, red side or blue, and be in a PuG AE mission in 5 minutes flat. And just nonstop smash until you got tired of it and went to work on your base, or your costume, or logged for the day.

I will miss that a lot

Oh well. At least I have the Majesty 2 demo to play with (And the full game in like another 3 days.

Never thought I'd actually would care about power customization but now that I have it, I LOVE IT!! This game has always had the most character customization and this just brings it up another level.

Nice to see the 5th Column back in steel kicking Council butt.

Nice to have the in-game email options to help stop the spammers.

No bugs of any kind as yet.

So far it gets a big thumbs up from me, more to check out though.

Two things really stand out for me in this issue

Super Sidekick and Exemping changes. Keeping powers a few levels above whenre you exemp down to is going to get me back to Flashback, and Super SK is just an awsome idea.

This issue is a QOL issue to be sure but I am very happy with it.

I spent all day teaming with my mom and my nephew doing radio and contact missions.

Good lord is teaming streamlined. At various times, either my mom or myself was playing a toon that was significantly higher than my nephew's level 20ish toon. It did not matter which mission we played, we all got XP, influence and drops. Once we figured out how to turn off the pesky nag screens about exemplar penalties, it was even easier.

Earlier in the day, Icon was pleasantly uncrowded. Around 6PM EST, it was a nightmare. Fortunately, we all made it a point to use the IP and other less-commonly used tailors.

For my tank, I loved the No FX options for my toggle powers. Also, the alternate punches for Super Strength are full of win. Regardless of my toons, I'm glad I can make the primary and secondary sets use the same color schemes so that energy blast and energy melee are blue throughout (goodbye pink pom-poms of doom, I shall NOT miss thee).

And much to my pleasant surprise, my story in AE didn't need tweaking. I was nervous, but had it well designed, so I was able to run my nephew through it to teach him how AE works.

We spent the WHOLE day in the game. It was THAT MUCH FUN.

I16 is 100% win. At least, it is for the three of us.

I agree with this. There is no new content to play through, so it's not something I've gotten excited about.

colours so far look alright
You can fix that. Go into options. At the top of the window, in Team Options, grab that first slider and move it all the way over to level 50. No more nagging.

I left the second one at level 5, though. That way I'm warned when I'm going to be exemplared down more than 5 levels.

Yeah, we ran into that one as well. I was standing in Portal Corp, and my nephew shouted, "Will you make up your mind?!"

I was like, "What?"

"Are you in the mission or in the base?!"

"Neither. I'm still in Portal Corporation."

"Well the game keeps saying you're in the mission, then in the base."

Must have been a bug.

I couldn't disagree more! Finally people doing Sewer Teams again, and people are out and about in-game, not crammed into one building.

It is a sight to behold!

Loving my two new characters:
- Spines/Elec Scrapper: Sturmsplitter Mk II
- Stone(Crystal)/Mace Tank: Palissade

Maybe they tried to fix the "in SG Base" when on a mission map bug (and vice versa).

When I joined this game ages ago, one of the first alts I made was an Elec/elec blaster. Being new I've never seen it in action, so I made him thinking electricity was yellowish as in the movies. I was very sad when it turned out purple. I tried to play him, even tried to change his color scheme, but nothing ever clicked. Now I'm playing him again.

On the other hand, I'm so used to building concepts with what I had available, very few of my current alts will need many changes. Their concept and color schemes match the default colors. I think the most drastic ones are adding a few punches to the Martial artists, making energy/energy actually match, and standardizing all the flame swords.

On the other hand, it does open a lot of doors for new alts.

I can kind of agree with those who notice the lack of new content (where the hell is The Coming Storm?).....but I myself can say that I haven't been through every story the game offers. Some I skipped on purpose, promising to come back to it on a different character or AT.

I would say that Going Rogue has what you want, but I cannot see the future, so.......and I won't suggest trying AE as your storyline source. That recommendation always gets ugly.

All in all (and I usually don't comment on Issues), this issue is very impressive. Like I said, no new content, but I haven't done all that there is anyway, so no problem for me there.

I almost feel sorry for the RMT spammers now. I'd wonder what they'll do next, but I don't want to give them any ideas.....

I wonder if I can make Spines/Dark even uglier.

I hope there's still laughing to do in Atlas.

My thoughts? I love it all. Except for the recipe drops rates suddenly sucking.

Be well, people of CoH.

The Super SK system is nice. I'll have to gather up some friends to help me throw down with Lord Recluse on my MM, and finish up that Praetorian arc on my Warshade.

Also, the tears of AE babies are a sweet, sweet nectar.

Kinda noticed that too.....been playing most of i16, till now, going to bed, alot of generic and common/uncommon/and some rare salvage drops here and there.....purples and useful recipe's arent a guarantee.....keep going on! At least common salvage wont cost 500k a piece now.

Green Phantom Army.

Pink Dark Servant.

I didn't think I'd like the MA punches, but it really is a nice change of pace. Mix of punches and kicks, they mostly replace the really high-flying kicks so hopefully the "street fighting" crowd will be happy.

Fighting 30 or more Council at once, solo, +3 to me? Awesome!

quick thoughts-

new Spines are AWESOME. and dunno if it's a bug or not, but you can get DOUBLE SPINES by selecting a different type for Quills. Gave my guy green crystaline spines for Quills and white Thorns for the rest of his attacks. Very nice!

New mission difficulty is likewise AWESOME. Set my spines/regen for even con 5 man spawns and MOWED. Felt fantastic, like running DA every time you step in the mission door.

And that was fighting Rikti....I can't wait to fire up my zombie map!

Checked in with the Goat and messed around with his powers- turned his fire black and purple, added a purple tint to his /dark powers, and laughed with glee.

So far so good!
