  1. Howsabout the missing additional ancillary/patron pools that were announced for issue 16 but were neglected and quietly left alone?

Scrappers were cited as 'an example' of 'just one' of the round outs, NOT as the only one.

If the issue is the cheaping of the "Master of" attempts, perhaps devs should add an additional difficulty setting called "Master of X" for the TF's that can grant said badge that directly takes the team to certain difficulty settings and option requirements overriding anything else. If that worked for the whole team no matter what, would also be good in case team leader gets temporarily disconnected during the TF.

Respects ALL views and takes on it for one's own toons.
  3. To paraphrase:

Dear players, we recognize and understand that many wish to and enjoy having the ability to alter the difficulty levels of their missions. As such, we have thought it thoroughly through and decided to improve on the current system.

Now you can range from -1 difficulty to +4 (from the old 0-+4). We realize that there are occassions where, for whatever reason: be it time, or degree of character slotting (not required for play, of course), or even if you haven't used that toon in a long time, or maybe your toon is an AE baby... for which a -1 Choice really is a reasonable option to have. A continuation of up to +4 is also enjoyed by a great many, had we not learned to try avoiding preemptive hinting too long before initiating new innovations, we might consider clueing in at a difficulty setting that's a little past +4 even... After all, personal choice is something we respect and wholly encourage.

We've also added the options to increase just how big a team you are considered to be. (Let player's choose their challenge factor and stop the annoying 'anchor/padding/filler/whatever call outs)

Even further respecting personal choices, we've added bosses and EB/AV scale options as well.

Based on request and feedback, we know this system to be innovative and respective of our player base's tastes, desires and choices on a vast scale. From the time limited, or PUG teams to the 'let's do some +4 uber boss/ AV smashing!'

    ***************

Bulletin: Due to not realizing our players really actually would use our diverse new system and exercise these new found innovative options, we've decided to cut a bunch of it out until we find a more developed way for you to choose what we want you to choose... While we sort of respect choice, it must ONLY coincide with what we WANT you to pick, not just what to pick FROM, but what to actually pick. We'll keep you posted.
    ____________________________________

It's a 'duh' thing. The new system was innovative and beyond expectation. If a team wishes to +4 their TF, FINE. If a team wants -1 for their TF, FINE. LRSF/STF, other SF/TFs - have the Heroes/AVs otherwise -1 from what they were before, FINE. Master runs - a make sense auto set option when pulling the run, FINE. Why continually complicate an opinion-based 'problem'?

Does that toon have a stealth proc in a sprint that was also on? I'm not suggesting it does or doesn't or was an oversight, just looking to rule it out.
  5. #1 on my list was wanting that declared additional ancillary/patron pool option as forcasted. When announced, scrappers were cited merely as an 'example', not as 'only'. There had been too much specificity for it to be merely 'misworded'.

Was there perhaps an official retraction and rewording prior to live that I missed?

Issue 16 will also improve on the Epic Power Pools. Each archetype is getting an additional power set in their epic power pool, and each power set is getting an additional power so that there will be five powers from which to choose. Using the scrapper as an example: Blaze Mastery was a power set added to the Epic Power Pool which will include the powers Ring of Fire, Char, Fire Blast, Melt Armor, and Fireball. In addition the Body Mastery power set had the power Physical Perfection added for a total of five powers.
Not that they'd necessarily get it, but I know I myself was praying this added pool might consist of a mez prot for corruptors.

Of course I hope I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure the i16 feature list doesn't mention any new pools for anyone except scrappers (who are just getting a copy of the Tanks one from what I can tell).
I've spent a couple hours today looking for this, I KNEW there had been a declaration of 5th pool set opening as well as bringing the other sets up to 5 each, but was wracking my fingers trying to find it. As indicated, the paragraph does not leave opening for misunderstanding/ poor word choice. It is VERY specific.
"Each archetype is getting an additional power set in their epic power pool"
and "Using the scrapper as an example" - just listed as an example for one archtype's boon.

I agree that I am so far only seeing one archtype getting an added pool at this time, the scrapper, however that is wholeheartedly NOT what was declared.

I am not belittling the vast other features of this issue, I am however disappointed already before log in, as my top desire with i16 was additional ancillary/patron set openings. Fervently wishing for even just a click mez prot somewhere in there for corruptors. Unfortunately, i16 was not ready for live. I'm indifferent if there'd been an actual patron handing out a new patron pool, such is Not a requirement for having access to one.

    2. Some players enjoy flipping and some enjoy farming. Reducing the ability of these players to participate in the activities they enjoy does not mean that they will suddenly turn into awesome teamies. If you think these flippers and farmers are evil greedy players why do you want to push them into your PUGs?

    3. All scarcity in the game is put there artificially by the devs. If you want prices to go down, or availability of certain items to go up, the devs need to change the drop rates. Player behaviour won't do it, because if items are dropping more (or less) frequently than the devs want, they will adjust the game, just as they have done for activities that earn xp more quickly than they want.

    4. CoX is five years old. It should be no surprise to anyone that there is a hard core of players that farm/flip etc. It should be no surprise to anyone that it is harder to team than five years ago. New content that attracts new players is what is needed in the game. Meddling with drop/market mechanics is a waste of dev time because it does not bring new players into the game.

    5. If buying up all the salvage and then dribbling it back on to the market was profitable, I'd sure as heck do it, but it simply is not profitable. Sure, you can buy 100 items and sell 10 for twice as much as you bought, but you aren't profiting, you are just stockpiling unsaleable items. Trust me on this, I bought all the Luck Charms (see my sig).

    6. The way the game is designed, flippers are actually renting out their time, inf and auction slots. I spam bids across multiple recipe levels and relist any I purchase. Another player who does not have the slots or inf or patience to do this can then buy the items I relist.

Just going through a checklist here...
How many 'bonus hps' are you dealing with? From sets or accolades, high pain tolerance...etc

If you have say 1500 hps and 300 of it is bonus, then that first 300 just doesnt count. It appears as though any single hit that is part of the 300 is not counted even in part either. Meaning: youre at full hp (1500, 300 of it is bonus) - you get hit for 1000 damage, but no credit. Not even 1000 - 300 = credit for 700. But any damage sustained After you have reached your base hps then Does count. So the next 1+ hp of damage after that 1k hit would count on your badge.

Things you can do - if you have powers/sets that are granting you bonus hps, can you junk them/ respec out of them temporarily?

What server are you? If infinity, I've a friend that has a Thug/ Pain MM CONSTANTLY online in mission heaing a pet for sg heal badge credit. Would be happy to set you up in overnight supported healing. - granted this constant healing isnt as lucrative heal credit wise... I Have to respect it's consistency. 500k or whatever it is per day for healing just a pet isn't a lot towards 100mill... But... it IS EveryFreakingDay. He's determined to keep it constantly going...

I would be satisfied if they made buffs affect teammates only. That would remove 99% of the irritating misuse of the buffs.

I would prefer a toggle to accept buffs or to block them. They could be done in two ways.

We could be given a choice to:

    A. Accept all buffs
    B. Accept buffs from teammates only
    C. Block all buffs

Or it could be broken down into specific buffs and we could select which buffs we accept/decline, in a window similar to the one we get when we /hide.
Aight, I'll see your ABC and add expansion windows to make it buff specific. Not dissimilar to Simple/Advanced Pet command options for MMs. Lets allow permissions on a broad level as you have here And more specific options that can be tailored for all. i18 Permission Customizations! culling from you... what you errr... didn't want in the first place!

I think the intended usage, to draw people closer to you to get the PF buff, while they get buffed by GC, is flawed. My experiences is that people basically either don't understand the power, don't need it due to defenders/corrs/controllers/whatever supplying adequate damage mitigation, or don't even think to look at the melee guy as being the source of a good defense buff.

For that reason, I am trying to build my Fire/SD scrap to be totally self-sufficiant, with all of that extra stuff being a good icing on the cake. (and yeah I'm taking grant cover, but only to hold a LotG )
My first Shield/Axe was pacted with my brother's broadsword shield. Though often teamed together (and with others) our mindset - we aint gonna take grantcover cause it doesnt do anything for ourselves (directly). It wasn't until after hitting level 50 we both realized all the shortchanging we'd been doing.

Arguments aside on 'having to ask/ remind other's for our "due" buffs', how often have you been looking at those slacking, missed, inbetween times for 'your' speedboost, shields, bubbles, clearminds, forge, adrenalin boost, thaw, etc... times when you admire -or at the least respect- the frequency of the other player's ability to keep the buffs going, times when youre shouting at the monitor for the blasted 'buffer' to freaking hit the team with the buffs at least ONCE every 5 min..., times when you patiently or not-so-patiently remind your fellow to please sb...

Then look at the not so frequently used Grant Cover. Depending on slotting... it can be near a luck to 2 constant pbaoe buff. It's a toggle... you Don't Have to keep buffing your fellows... if they can handle the proximity/ your aggro hold/managing skills, mob sizes, etc... they get the buff. If not... well, it's not like you don't have it toggled up. Multi-shield teams... (not discounting leadership, etc), the overlapping Grant Covers can be jawdropping. Did a jawdropping VEAT ITF yesterday, amongst the funnest in a while and the overlapping assault, leadership, and maneuvers was impressive...

Even if you solo 100% of the time (I wouldn't suggest there aren't some that really do solo 100%... but I'd be surprised to come across them) That's 3-4 more slots of ...Luck of the Gambler? If you happen to be by yourself, don't toggle it on (yeah, 'duh').

I'm likely not going to be able to sell anyone to flipping to Grant Cover, it's a choice thing, but as a choice thing, at least consider looking at the team benefit aspects - especially for being a low maintaince toggled contribution that can hold sets that DO benefit YOU also. From a perspective, a teamed shield without grant cover, isnt that dissimilar to the chuckles directed at a kin without speedboost (I respect the decision while disagreeing with it) - and speedboost one actually has to pay attention to, imagine a kin's glee if it could just be a toggle that grants 2 min of sb, just by being near for a moment!

Being a set replacement is, in general, a bad thing, sure. Fighting the horesmen in the LGTF, or ghost widow in the STF, just for example, I very much like my click resistance that isn't dependant upon anything else to be sufficient. The instances where that matters is perhaps few and far between, but then that's more than I can say I get out of the resists and hp in OWtS. I liked the idea when it was introduced with strength of will, but I really just don't care for the execution in-game.

Besides, you of all people know that 90% down to 78% isn't "next to no effect", even if the crash is easier on people that hate the power. That's to say nothing of what this will do to brutes. All three invuln brutes in the game would hunt you down and shave you without lathering you first.

*****edit: Nerfing the S/L portion to zero because some tankers take tough would be a terrible descision.*****
Caught my attention here! When they look at 'tweaking'/nerfing powers, PLEASE, tell me they do it considering the Powerset in and of itself and it's own merits while NOT counting influences from outside the powerset such as tough/weave... I certainly hope this is the case.
