  1. Thanks, everyone. Didn't exactly do anything today, but I do have some plans for tommorow and Sunday. Should be a decent weekend.
  2. Bob does not heed fake bacon in any form, from flavorings to oddly bacon shaped meat. Only the pure, true bacon can stand before the Bacon Lord.
  3. I had a freaking awesome time at the con, and I've already set aside the funds to make sure I can go again next year. So barring any unexpected financial pitfalls, I should be there. I've got to thank Red again for carting around Bob and I the entire weekend. Would have had a much harder time getting around to various Justice fun without him.

There literally wasn't a bad thing about the con for me. The Justice Dinner, Game Night, Bacon Waffles, Team Barfly, The San Fransico Raid, and all the various con panels and activities. All awesome.
  4. Bob and I got home with no problems. The two flights back were nice.

    Video Card Help

I had the exact same issue with my 8800 GTX a couple months back. It seems to be caused by microfractures forming in the electrical connections on the board do to repeated heating and cooling of the card during normal use. I was able to fix it by actually baking the card in the oven for around ten minutes, as shown here: http://www.gpureview.com/how-to-fix-...ticle-798.html

I had a backup video card to use, so I gave that a shot for the hell of it. Sometimes seemingly terrible solutions the internet can provide actually work
  6. I'm still undecided on if I'll take part in the Live Mission. If I don't, I know I'll certainly be up for joining Team Barfly to watch, though.
  7. Luckily I live in the city, so getting to the Airport will just be a matter of a taxi or train ride depending on how I feel like going. Do have to get up rather early to get there in plenty of time for our 6:00 am flight, though.
  8. Just two. Took my Crab Spider from 30 to 32. I only played a little, but that's still a lot more than I have been lately.

Oh, God. I forgot about time zones. Yea, getting up for breakfast for me is going to be terrible, but no way am I missing bacon waffles.

Yep, I'm definitely down and I'm sure Bob will be as well. We'll need to catch a ride out there, though.

Whooo, Settlers! I'd certainly be up for that and some other games.

Psh, that's no excuse for taking so long to respond. That's what I'm doing and I still was able to respond to a PM Red sent me about the dinner in a timely fashion. Of course, someone did have to poke me and tell me I had a PM. Despite still reading the forums daily I never notice when I have a new one .
  13. I really like the power customization. Gave me a reason to use a few of the 63 free tailor tokens my main had squirrelled away. It's rather well done, and I'm glad it's linked to costumes. Haven't tried the mission difficulty features or super-sidekicking, but that's mainly because I don't actually feel like playing any of my characters at the moment. I'm certainly glad that they're there for when GR hits, however. Overall, looks like a very nice QoL Issue.
  14. Bob and I are all set with our hotel reservations and plane tickets. With splitting the room between two people, the trip out there from Philadelphia is running us $470 a piece, which isn't all that bad. I could certainly go for bacon waffles, and obviously there is no need to question if Bob would as well.
  15. I've had an active account since launch, so I'll be there.

And I think he totally missed the nail and almost whacked his thumb...

Where is the faction slider in this?

Our heroes have been to Preatoria / alternate universe before and never switched alignment.

My guess is that we will have a hero <--> villain meter and doing missions / whatever actions and choices will move that meter one way or the other. If you move beyond a specific point you will no longer be accepted by your old faction but will be able to go to the other. Thus having stalkers and MM under the Atlas statue and scrappers and blasters working for Arachnos.

After all, the only difference between a hero and a villain game mechanic wise is a simple flag...

Anyway, we'll see sooner or later.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is correct. I'll go further and say that there will be three Cities when GR hits: Paragon City, Rogue Isles, and Praetoria.

Paragon is Hero only, RI is Villain only, and Praetoria is accessible to everyone. While in Praetoria, you can do stuff that will affect your alignment. If a Hero does enough Bad stuff, he will lose access to Paragon City and only be able to access the Rogue Isles. The same goes for a Villain with the locations reversed, obviously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really think this is how it'll work as well. Honestly, if all it does is let heroes access a mirror version of the isles and villains a mirror paragon, the expansion will be a complete and utter waste that does nothing to really change the games dynamics, imo.
  17. [ QUOTE ]

I'd say it's a fairly recent event, i.e. after his rescue from Praetoria. Statesman himself doesn't seem to express any kind of surprise about the appearance, only Desdemona does. I would assume that she's only just turned up after defecting from the Rogue Isles and States is briefing her on Tyrant and his world. Could be the situation is caused by Maelstrom leaving the blues and joining Tyrant's group, providing them with the info they need to start a large scale attack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, that does indeed make sense. If that's the situation the storyline they're creating certainly could work.
  18. Considering the storylines about Praetoria and it's utopian status thanks to being ruled by Tyrant have been in the game since Issue 1, no I don't think it's a jab at the competition since the place was created under said competition's watch. I'm just wondering when the video actually takes place since the fact that there is a story arc that has Tyrant capturing Statesman and taking him to Praetoria in the game already, it'd be kinda weird for them to be acting like it's the first time they've seen the place if it is in the present.
  19. I'll be there on the 20th, more likely than not with Bob. The amount of crap I buy at the dealer's room generally makes it quite worth it for me to attend.

Why you should play them: Well, these arcs let you fight two classic comic book villains: Commies and Nazis, respectively. The stories aren't complicated, but I like to think they're written alright and would love to here some feedback on them, as a whole 6 people have rated the first one, and the second only got published last night. The first features a custom villain group, who I've toned down since the arcs first iteration do to some feedback and my own experiences. The second arc primarily features the 5th Column. I can solo both on my blaster with a few inspirations for the AVs/EBs so they're not terribly difficult, either. If you do play both, I would recommend playing Ghosts first, as the last mission of A Formula For War has a slight tie in to it that I think works better being experienced in that order.

  23. The zone looks like it should be very interesting for my main villain and her SS. The Thug pets look great. The trenchcoats they had on seemed pretty well done, and the fact they they fight with dual machine gun pistols is extremely cool. I'll definently be making a Thug MM when I7 hits.
  24. I should be going to the stop at Fat Jack's Comic Crypt in Philly.
