Why do I have to buy Going Rogue in Europe?
Just a quick reminder that not all the Euro players have English as their main language, so pointing out the language mistakes is a little uncool.

Well, the people who have bad english usually don't have english as the first language. It's still fun to drop the mine for fish line.

Can't help but agree to the OP.
Sure, I could start a new account and move to the NA side. But losing all the toons I love, losing all the effort I put into them, losing 48 months of vet rewards I am attached to, not to mention all those packs I bought, I have all but the last two. Now I could go and abandon it all to play on the NA servers, having to pay again for the privilege of playing this game To be honest I rather start playing CO then star again from scratch. I would love to get access to those 11 extra servers though. |

Well, you can, at least until you get to the door where we then tie you up and burn you
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I could be totally offbase but it wouldn't surprise me if sometime in the next year or two they completely erase the distinction between North American and European servers, allowing players to simply play on whatever server they preferred. I think if they did this they'd probably merge a couple, though, taking the total number from 15 down to something more like 12.
But NCsoft may be completely satisfied with the way things are set up now, so it's more likely the current situation will remain as is.
I didn't the valkyrie pack or the science one. Basically because I tend to lose interest in this game. And yes, having not many people to play with is part (and only part mind you) of the problem.
All I can say is get a few friends to "Go Rogue" with you.

Something in this game keeps pulling me.
So, not running away yet. Just stating that moving to NA servers without the benefits/toons I worked and paid for is not an option I am willing to take.
Do what a few of us are doing, play CO till going rogue, or an issue comes out with something new to do in it.
That way if GR is a load of bollox (and if it is, it will be the end of this game for me anyway) at least you will have got your foot in the door of a new game.
Yeah, a game is supposed to be fun - so if you're not finding it so much fun right now, taking a break is a good idea.

OP, take a good look at this Going Rogue Trailer and still try to say you have problems buying it.

Tried leaving before, didn't work

I can only *imagine* how I would feel if I were told that I had to leave all of my old characters behind in order to merge servers with the EU. I would go ballistic, and so would every last person in this thread - although of course you could not get that admission out of them with a red-hot hammer and tongs.
I think offering the EU people a free transfer of their characters would be a very nice and classy thing to do, as well as retaining a few players.
But eh, the hell with that! Let's just tell them they're "whining" and the sooner they quit, the better. Right?
The following are all [ok mostly!] true facts.
- The EU playerbase numbers are NOTHING compared to the US.
- Our entire server list peak time numbers barely reach half of freedoms peak time numbers.
- A large majority of EU players have said at least once that numbers are low and would like the opportunity to transfer their account to the US server list.
- A large majority of EU players however also say that they like the community feel that the EU playerbase has [in that we all mostly know eachother].
- Us EU players do sometimes fall into the trap that our entire playerbase are part of the main global channels such as sals/defiant events/etc where the majority of events are organised.
- We have a very wierd sense of humour.
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
And despite the rampant "TOO BAD FOR YOU, DON'T LIKE IT? LEAVE THE GAME" crap in here, this is very valid.

Or posts that ask about server merges that only exist in the poster's head.
Or just posts that make false/nonsensical assumptions.
FYI: You do not have to buy Going Rogue. You do not have to buy it in Europe. (Unless you want to.) You do not have to buy it in North America. (Unless you want to.) You do not have to buy Going Rogue. (But i will, and rather hope you will as well.)
Now, if the issue is that you feel that the European servers are underpopulated at your playtimes, then you could try asking the Devs if it will ever be permitted to transfer accounts back and forth between the NA and EU systems. Remember that making demands and threats is usually a poor way to ask that sort of question.
If you're tired of CoX and need a change, then there's no problem with taking a hiatus and playing another game, be it CO, WoW, DAoC, AoC or HKO. Of course taking a break may very well solve both problems. The Devs might implement an account transfer system in the meantime, and/or the release of i16 and i17 while you're gone may cause a surge in server population that raises it to whatever level meets your threshold.
But you know what? Asking the appropriate people and doing it nicely when you ask them is the best route to go.

This thread delivers.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
fact: all eu players know this is what makes us better then us, the us cant match our psycho sense of humour lmao
|
ok just for clarity, the guy wants the us and eu servers both to be selectable for eu players because he finds the population too low, right? that's what i think i'm getting. doesnt seem unreasonable to me, thought i have no idea if there are major technical/legal problems with this.

I don't actually remember reading anything saying that we can't still play without buying Going Rogue. If it doesn't interest you for whatever reason, don't buy it.
I agree that villains are a bit quiet on Union anyway, can't say about any of the other servers. However, GR works both ways. You could take those villain characters you don't play because they never get teams over to the hero side and play them there. Or do all the new content which I'm sure will be fairly popular after the release, or maybe there will be a lot of folks taking heroes to the Rogue Isles and villain side will be more popular for a time?
@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.
