Given that alternate animations for Martial Arts and Superstrength are included in Issue 16 something of the sort is possible. But before that, he'd have to tweak the animation so that it had the same animation time as the animation it's replacing. So it would be more complicated and have to be done on a more one-power-at-a-time basis.

"Off-color" things are things of dubious propriety. That is, it's a way of saying that something is indecent or vulgar. Hobo is joking about customizing vulgarity (and/or scatology, though I don't think we'll actually get to customize Granite). One might select themes, such as l337 (leet-speak profanity), Comic (standard non-alphanumeric symbology familiar to us from our favorite superhero titles), or even Archaic British (featuring such long-standing favorites as "Balderdash!").

I leave it as an exercise for the readers to interpret his bran-related comment in light of this new information. I submit that it is highly relevant to the content of his posts.

Wow. So you actually DID pull out random animations here and there, do all the greyscale stuff needed, and just do this piecemeal over the long term. I think I outright suggested it a year ago, but I never imagined you'd actually do that. That's a crazy amount of dedication.

What I really love about this dev team is they go the extra mile just to make as many people as happy as power. Lazier developers wouldn't have bothered with both "light" and "dark" versions, no matter how lame it would be not to be able to throw solid black balls of flame at people. I sound like a total sycophant here, but this is astounding when you have some idea of how much effort all this took.

I don't know if it's been said enough, but I think CoX has the best devs of any game I've played. How often do you find games where the fans dictate the direction of the game as much as here? Power Customization is just another piece in a long list of pieces the devs have gone above and beyond to give us the players what we want in a game instead of just what their vision of a game should be. What's even more amazing is they are doing it depite what they originally thought were system limitations. They found a way to give this to us and I for one just want ot say thank you to the CoX Dev teams for everything they've done for us over the years.

I do believe they are at 12 or 13 for that feature.

I expected to be allowed to customize the colors of the powers individually. They added different color blending options, per costume slot customization, and the framework for new animation (with two sets utilizing it). They're even allowing Spines (previously exempt from weapon customization) to be modified.

They're well above and beyond what I anticipated.

Though as I mentioned in another thread, this makes me wonder what happens to the coloring of toggles (armors, rad and dark debuffs, etc) or clicks with durations (bubbles, pets, etc) when someone changes their costume while it's up.


Tech support IRL, CLR/DRU/MED/WHM/PRI/DEF. Hmm, I sense a pattern...

Oh they already have that in the game. Only magic-origin characters can see it though.

I think this confirm: we can alternate colors/animations (for MA/SS) by having macros switching costumes as we fight.
