Ooh... this is a hard call. My first is easy: my Main, my namesake, the first character I ever created.
Shortspark (Fire/Fire Tanker)
"All her life, Tara Riley had been looked down on. Literally. Although diminuitive, she was tough, and made up for her dearth of height with a plethora of spirit. Mischievious and impulsive, she got into binds often from not thinking things through completely. Despite these occasional shortcomings and a temper hot enough to oxidize iron, she was loyal to her friends and never got into real trouble.
On the evening of her 21st birthday, she went out to a bar with a few friends to celebrate her drinking privileges. A mix of inebriation and crude pickup lines caused her famous temper to manifest in a fiery blaze that ended up torching the bar. No one was injured badly, but Tara decided to leave town. Searching for a new place to fit in, she heard of Paragon City, and left to seek her fortune in a city where a girl who sometimes caught fire wouldn't draw notice.
Shortspark doesn't bother with a secret identity. It's hard to avoid notice when you catch fire whenever you're angry."
So I after playing on a friend's account for a few days, I'd quickly cracked and gotten my own. I hadn't a clue what I was doing, I barely knew what archetypes were, I just created a character that seemed cool to me. So I ended up with a short curvy redheaded fire tanker with an anger problem. I liked the idea of anger manifesting in the form of fire, being wielded to great effect against her enemies.
I played no character but Shortspark for a long, long time. At first, she flew, then later switched to jumping. I ground my way through the early parts of the game, teaming, soloing, but mostly dragging an endurance problem I could not shake. First into every fight, never fearing, but always asking "Anyone got a blue?" afterwards.
By the time she reached 50, I had managed to handle my end problems. Judicious power use, along with Consume, Conserve Power, and Geas of the Kind Ones, could see me through any tough spot. But with the advent of Inventions, I suddenly had a new goal. I could now slot for endurance reduction without reducing any of my other attributes, and I could get recovery and Max END bonuses. My vision of Shortspark as an unstoppable ball of fire was complete. I could fight without stopping, my survival no longer dependent on an empty endurance bar.
Incarnates brought another iteration to Shortspark. No longer was I limited to my tanker powers; now she could REALLY wreak havoc. Shortspark had finally become what I had originally envisioned. Over 6 years of play, she had grown and matured from a brash young hero into a mature, competent, and fully self-sustaining fighter. In addition, she'd picked up a pair of sisters, making three fire-based anger manifesting redheads. But I digress.
For my second pick... I'd have to go with a much moar recent character.
Moar Power was created in the goal of making an overpowered character. He was a Cold/Ice def with no backstory and no concept beyond raw, overpowered fun. And oh boy, what a blast I had. When I was playing MP, I felt cocky and carefree. He seemed like a character that didn't have a care in the world or to give much of a damn for anything. He did what he wanted, went where he wanted and had fun.
My final character is The Nemesis Plothole.
He was conceived around a single idea; for all the complexity of the Prussian Prince of Automaton's plans, a single hero who keeps wrecking his plans. And not just foiling them; foiling them in a uncomplicated and easy to understand way.
He was a StJ/Regen scrapper. After supposedly being disintegrated completely in the 70's, he reappeared and had begun to take the fight to Nemesis once again. I had a absolute blast playing him to 50, and he ended up being on of my most survivable characters, assuming I paid attention and anticipated. At a time when I was starting to burn out on the game, he made it fun for me again by giving me a new playstyle.
I'm going to end it here or I'll end up trotting out every alt I've ever rolled. I'll just list some other characters that deserve a mention: Shortspark's sister toons, Emberblast (Fire/Fire Blaster) and Jessie Inferno (Fire/Shield scrapper), a wizard (Rad/Sonic Defender), Strongarm Sara (Inv/SS Tanker), and Sybil Disobedience (TW/EA Brute) -
I started playing this game waaaaay back in the days of the Winter Lord babies, I'm not even sure what issue it was. I'd been on a bit of a break recently but had started thinking of the game again. I'm going to miss this game and all of my friends in it.

So. Um... mine might be a bit cluttered.
All these freakishly clean desks have me self-conscious. -
Two of my characters are my favorite for concept.
First is Shortspark, my first hero and my namesake. She's a fire/fire tanker, who causes her anger to manifest as fire-based powers. She's the oldest of three sisters who all have anger-fueled fire powers in the same vein.
Nemesis Plothole, a much more recent arrival. He's a StJ/Reg scrapper, and exists simply to be the monkey-wrench in Lord Nemesis' plans. He appeared shortly after Nemesis became active, and has persisted in his heroic activities ever since. -
Gurus of the scrapper forums, I need your help. The Nemesis Plothole, my Street Justice/Regen scrapper and sworn enemy of the Prussian Prince of Automatons, had reached the limit of my build-creation abilities. I've been tinkering and tweaking this planned build for days, and I wanted your input and critiques before I start trying to put it into action.
A few notes:
-My main goals for set bonuses were +Rech, +Regen, and +HP
-I plan to PvP some with this character
-Attack chain is tentatively planned as Ribcracker>Shin Breaker>Ribcracker>Finisher. Dark Blast is used as a filler or to tag runners.

You can save your windows settings and chat settings in the options window. Use a default bind file that you load in with bindloadfile and you'll have 90% of it done.

I'd say skip Initial Strike, if possible. Based on a level 38 scrapper with moderate IOing, I can chain together Heavy Blow, Rib Cracker and Curbstom- I mean, Shin Breaker fairly well. I'd hate losing Sweeping Cross, just because sometimes 2 AoEs are nice.

Okay, this has been annoying me. Take Super Strength, for example. If you'd been playing for just one year and paying each month, you will have spent $180 ($15x12) to unlock Super Strength. Stop saying that you didn't have to pay for old sets, because you had to pay for them CONSTANTLY.

Just for the record, I had to remove my custom sound folder entirely. It was crashing CoH at the login screen. Anyone have any ideas for a workaround?

I'm going to be rerolling one of my toons as a BR/Traps corruptor. I'm dropping the Elec blast because BR/ fits his concept a LOT better.

If you've downloaded the most recent beta build, you can copy that into your main CoH folder and try patching that. You'll still have to download, but it should be much faster.

We have two cats in our apartment.
First, we have Baker, an almost completely black cat tipping the scales at 18 pounds of easygoing feline muscle. Baker is a Invul/Super Strength tanker with the entire jump pool. He's easily capable of a 4' jump from a standing start, and has reached even greater heights with a running start and wall assist. Invul because I've watched this doofus headbutt the a table leg at full speed and continue without a pause. SS because of how hard he'll hang on whenever we're playing. Hero name would be "The Immovable Lump".
The second is Sully, a more normal-sized tortoiseshell cat with little white mittens on her feet. Sully would be a Claws/Regen stalker. Claws because of her tendency to shred everything she can, and Regen for indefatigable energy and never staying down.
There's a motive behind the archetypes as well. At night, "playtime" in our apartment, Sully starts getting wound up. She'll hide beneath chairs and tables, around corners, but away from the main action. All of a sudden, she'll sprint out of the shadows and attack Baker, who outweighs her by half again her weight. Baker will be surprised, and usually will fall back to defend himself. Invariably, Sully'll get pinned, and have to squirm free and retreat... but like any good Regen, she won't stay down long -

Thank you for your advice, everyone. I didn't even know about the Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control. With these suggestions, I've revamped my build. I was even able to pick up the Blaze Mastery pool to get a good ranged attack. Here's the final version of my build:

I recently got my Fire/SD scrapper to 50 and I'm trying to decide on a final build. Currently, I use the build below (minus the Gladiator's proc. Still grinding tips for that one

This build has Aid Self and Physical Perfection from the Medicine and Body Mastery pools, but lacks Hasten and Super Speed. I'd really like to get those last two in the build, so I've been attempting to find an alternate build that preserves or improves the existing defense without sacrificing the offense.
So far, I've worked out two options: drop the Medicine pool, or drop the Body Mastery pool. I'm worried that dropping Aid Self may make me squishier, and I'm worried that dropping Physical Perfection may cause me to have end problem. As it stands, I find my self occasionally reaching for my heal, and I have to click Conserve Power in extended fights. I'm coming here for suggestions and any other ideas you may have. Every time I launch CoH Beta, It loads normally until it gets to the login screen. I get the login UI, and then I receive a popup box telling me that CoH has crashed, and to please explain what I was doing when CoH crashed. I can ignore the box and still attempt to log on, but I'm getting bounced out at the moment since it's not Beta time yet. Any ideas on what's wrong? CoH Helper and HijackThis logs are forthcoming.
