Since when? I was under th impression that (and I've never used confuse, btw...even though I have 3 ILL trollers ), 'arresting' that enemies that have taken damage from an NPC, yield a lower amount of Xp depending on the damage taken from said NPC (including some powers, ie: confuse, OLD chain reaction, others). Even in MA (or AE, whatever...make up our minds, people! ).

AM I wrong? AM I a n00b?

P.S. Don't answer that last one, hehe.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, the XP per mob will be lower... but, you'll be able to kill more mobs in the same time frame, which'll result in a net increase. Lets say your NPC ally is doing a LOT of damage... and you're only really doing about 20% of the damage to each mob. What does that do to the XP you'd make for that mission? It'd cut it in half... BUT, what does it do to how long it took to complete the mission? It was cut to one fifth! That's a one hundred and fifty percent increase in earned XP per minute!

See this chart for how it works out. Really, confuses is basically one of the most underrated abilities in the entire game (which is why I love Seeds of Confusion... it's up basically every mob, and it's pretty easy to hit the entire spawn with it).

[/ QUOTE ]

It's true. Confuse is just plain awesome. It's one of my favorite powers.

Recently an SG mate rolled a mind dom and finally got confuse. They exclaimed "Wow Confuse is great!" and I said "You know what's better than Confusion? MASS Confusion!"

Initially, I thought the OP was an interesting attempt at satire. It seemed ripe for it, because it did many things easily associated with AE farms (farm in the name, commonly farmed enemies, ally providing buffs). The post just screamed "satire" at me. Until I saw who posted it.

If it was not for the fact that I have seen Airman_America post before, I would have thought this entire thread a very well done satire piece. Indeed, the mission to me sounds like a thinly veiled farming mission, even as AA explains it throughout the thread. I would assume he wasn't doing it on purpose, which makes me wonder what truly is going on here.

If the mission does get unbanned, I would love for him to Post the ID number so I could take a look. If only to see where the line may be.

While this may be true for Confused mobs, an EB in a MA mission is not the same thing. When they hit, they tend to just destroy things, not wound them the way the regular mobs do. It doesn't matter if you get the mission over in 1/5 the time, if you get no xp/inf/tickets for 90% of the mobs. I had one in a mission I ran the other day, I hadn't lost yet when I ran into a spawn. I went to hit Footstomp, but before my attack went through, the EB dropped in, hit Whirling Axe and the entire spawn fell over dead. It was fast, but that was 5 minions and 1 Lt. I didn't get inf or tickets from. An Lt or maybe a Boss as an ally may have the same kind of effect as using Confuse, but an EB or AV is just too much more powerful than the standard mobs.

So true.

As a famous quote puts it, "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to post to the forums and invite a lot of other fools to respond."

Or something to that effect.

Seriously thought, you're not the first to have a mission banned just because it contained the word farm. If it isn't really a farm, it should be restored, it just might take a few days.

(But our other problem here is that everyone has a different definition of what the word "farm" means...)

So freakin' sick of people blueside trying so hard to control what other people do in a mission, while wanting endless license to annoy for themselves. Idiots.

Airman,

Sorry your arc got banned, but please do not act innocent, there is a GMOTD available at any time when you're in game, and when new ones are released, they are displayed immediately if you're already in game or the next time you login if you weren't on at that moment.

When you close the window and don't ever to bother to read it, that falls on you.

I love threads like this. There's no way anyone could make such an obvious farm arc and actually be surprised when it's banned. I mean, an arc about Farming with Freakshow as the enemy group? How would that even make sense from a story perspective?! Obvious prank. With that in mind, a lot of these replies are great.

Good show OP, good show.

if it helps, i've played the arc, i enjoyed it, and it was by no means a "farm". to who ever "reported" your mish, they're an [censored], and if the gm's don't un-ban it, screw them too. Draconian enforcement of over reactions to Dev created issues is something that seriously bothers me.

i understand the devs never wanted people to farm AE, and in essence i agree, but giving them access to the ability to make farms is not the farmers fault, you gave access to it, it's the Devs, so a smackdown type retaliation to the farming, should at the very least be heavily policed to make sure it doesn't adversly effect those that correctly use the MA. it reeks of "NOOOO!!! i don't ant you to play it that way.... NOW i will punish everyone who comes within my line of sight". i've had a handful of friends get completely legit arc's banned because one effin noob reports it because it ISNT a farm. at this point the "cure" is almost as bad as the "disease".

Interestingly enough, the reporter was completely correct in reporting that it WAS a farm.

Customer service would also be perfectly understandable to declare that it is banned because it is a farm.

Ah, good clean homonym fun.

[/ QUOTE ]You're exaggerating just a wee bit there, friend.

It takes a certain number of reports to get reviewed, and to trigger the temporary auto-lock. 1 report simply isn't enough. If it's perma-banned after the review, then it was a farm mission [u]in the reviewer's opinion[u], the only one that really matters. But even that can be appealed to Customer Service.
