We never get dev posts on weekends. Why?

What's a weekend? The world exists more than just during Banker's Hours.
And so does the Intarwez.

[/ QUOTE ]thats the good thing about working longer days, the weekend for me is friday through sunday . of course, once OT gets dangled in front of me ill be camping at work, but still.

Maybe they just want time to enjoy their families and the weekend.

The answer is obvious - they use the weekends to fight crime. High end super villany rises on Friday night peaks on Saturday around 3am and returns to normal by Sunday around 5 pm. Really, just ask Batman or James Bond.

Well Babs has baby babs that was born not too long ago. Is the kid even a year old yet?

If I were him I'd spend every moment I could with that child, but I'm a sap like that.

Honestly, I never liked taking my work home with me, even when I really like my job. (If I worked at City of Heroes, I might make an exception. You hear that HR?)

So my guess is, they probably like to just leave work at work, I am sure they are swamped with this game and all the upcoming stuff they got going on. We already know they got I15 coming up, possible power customization in I16, Going Rogue with several new zones, and that's just what we know about. (Which appears more and more just to be the tip of the ice berg.) So I am sure they are putting in long hours and are done with it by the time they go home.

Plus, it may be similar to the reason they don't release new issues right before the weekend. They may want to limit red name posts on the weekends so that a Redname doesn't get on friday night drunk, tell everyone a bunch of stuff he isn't supposed to, and then everyone reads it all weekend until monday morning when a moderator logs in, finds the post and then has to delete it and tell everyone it was a lie.

It's easier to damage control anything that might potentially slip if they only post on weekdays etc. But that's just my personal theory and I have no way to back that up with anything solid.

You bet - logging into one's work system on one's time off is what every IT professional lives for.

(I am assuming this post was intended satirically, but just in case...)

I don't think they're allowed to make fun of us unless they use their redname accounts.

[/ QUOTE ]
How can you tell the difference between a redname making fun of you posting on the boards through a non-redname board account and some random board member making fun of you posting on the boards through their non-redname board account? It's still a green name in the 'Poster' column; you'd have to look at the diction and writing style to have a chance at figuring it out, and even then it could be someone mimicking their style.

The Devs hate weekends.

This is a slap to the face for those of us who enjoy playing on the weekends. The obvious weekday dev-favoritism is getting out of hand.

I agree with all of the 'they have lives' responses. And an additional note, we get more interaction out of the Devs than any other game already.

So, in theory, any non-redname poster could be a redname, except ones that claim that they are?

[/ QUOTE ]

People denying the existence of rednames may be rednames themselves.

I'm actually a redname. I can safely say that because I know nobody will believe me. Unless that's what you expected me to do. Or maybe that's what I want you to think...

It's worth noting that impersonating a dev or other NCSoft staff on the forums or in game is something that the CS staff takes pretty seriously.

Don't do it.

The obvious answer is that the devs post when they work, and they don't work on weekends. Fair enough. But why? Is it not possible for them to log into their redname accounts outside of the office or something?

[/ QUOTE ]

BABs and I have been known to post on the weekend, at times, as have Ghost Falcon, Dark Watcher and even SexyJay.

It's just relatively uncommon.

Well stop having lives, will you. It's really annoying that you don't spend 24/7/365 dealing with CoX. Show some dedication for pete's sake.

Jesh, you can't get the staff.

Considering that they have just released i15, working on GR and i16, which has already been confirmed will be announced in July.

Lets see, this weekend I was about as far away from a computer as I could get: Swimming out on the sunny cali coast, enjoying parks around the bay, watching old Enterprise episodes, housecleaning that's been neglected, helping the wife cook a ham dinner and drinking wine from our trip to Napa Valley a few weeks back.

Gotta come back refreshed for another week of spread sheets, word docs, planning meetings, and especially reading the forums and PM's.
