um, hello everyone. As you see i hardly post, but i want to add to this. I like the thought of this.
if i was to have a wish list for this new set it would be...
a pet. maybe 2 tankish combat bots that taunt for a few secs and herds then slows and despawns. -
yeah, I suggested this about 5 years ago. I wanted a self anchored "Def rad" armor. Close enough.

I dont want every damn combo to be the OPness that is bots/traps i just want it fun and enoyable.
Back to the topic. I like time over sonic. Now that i think of it, i guess it just depends on your playstyle. if you are going for a tank, i think time wins out, but if you are sending the pets in to tank, sonic would be better. -

I have noticed a lack of fire armor posts/guides/advice. could it be that it's the least popular armor, unless paired with spines*?

That's why combat jumping + a karma -KB IO is one of the best methods for filling the holes in /FA, you get both KB and immob covered in one power. You could still take kick, slot kinetic in it to get -7 Kb resistance instead of the -4 karma would give you.
Also, slotting 4 kinetic IO's is only going to give you 3 points of KB protection - not sure if that extra point matters or not but its good to be aware that it IS less than a karma or steadfast prot -kb IO.

My DM/FA is actually a brute, so I do use boxing as part of my attack chain. It does amuse me to Whooooomp, whoooomp with my DM attacks followed by the plink of boxing. -

sorry, i didn't know i would confuse anyone by talking about the ice brutes. my bad. yeah, it was the slows and holds that killed the ice brutes fury, not the def. just to be sure, they did not take ice armor away from tanks in CoV.

i do think rad armor would need either +hp power or a +regen power. -
ok, i have brought this up like once a year since CoV was in beta and they took out ice armor. (i said that rad/rad should be it's replacement), Of course no one ever comments on it, and i pray that i don't kill this thread with my bad luck.
first off. i think it should start off being a tanker set. scrapper... ok, meh imo but ok. and i will focus on the armor because the attacks are a given.
it would be a regen/sr/wp hybrid
how it works. picture the defenders powers place onto the caster. so most your debuffs are now pbaoe's. so 1.RI, 2.EF and 3.LR would be toggles of gas around you. before anyone says anything about the holes in this, the benefit might out weigh the loss of a true armor. def's RI gives -30% to-hit which is like have 30% def. and a dmg debuff would be like a resistance armor.
and the buffs in the sets are placed on you. AM would be an auto (maybe split them up to fill out the powers, like 4.quickness and 5.recovery. 6.mutation a self-rez. the 7.heal... a click heal. add a 8.mez armor.
and that leaves u with a 9 tier. i was thinking of something like something like warshade's eclipse. and if that isn't good enough for some reason or thematically correct, add a hold to the move. (for theme, it's like you are getting stronger as everyone else is getting weaker) make the buff last longer and the recharge no effected by recharge ala willpower~shield 9 tier.

Hello, I am a lurker (not a stalker). I don't really asked questions or talk a lot unless i can't figure out something myself. I am always into number crunching that other people come up with. I myself have put their info into a formula that i use for myself to calculate survival.

I think Regen is less powerful on teams because any toon that has healing capabilities will probably heal you as you're clicking Reconstruction/Dull Pain/Instant Healing/MoG. This puts your clickies down for the count, and has wasted your Defender/Troller friends endurance. Not very useful.

However if you have a forcefielder, or the empath puts fort on you. Even 25% defence not onoly doubles you own mitigation through regen (which is matched by a /Wp increase), but the mitigation your own click heals brings is doubled as well.
The click heals makes buffing a /regen on a team very potent indeed.
Playing whack a mole with health bars not so much, but thats descending into a defender forum favorite topic.

I hate to say this because i love this movie so much. These are two tankers duking it out.
it last almost 6 minutes. and they take it and become best friends. If a scrapper fights for 6 mins, they aint leaving till the other guy is dead.
there is no scrapper lock, just a bunch of taunts and haymakers.
after the first two punches, they waited for the other person to be "Ready!", does that sound like a Scrapper? No, there was clearly more than 7 seconds...
great moment, but this is for tankers.

I like this idea, gives us something new to try out, and would be very very cool to have all the combos as a blaster... like a Mega combo that will stun them, and then the final attack would be you run in the middile of the mob and take them out dantie style!
