I thought CoX was a Teen rated game?!?!?!

Yeah, didn't think so. Grow up.

Oh hey, I forgot about her. So Domi's not the only one.

I take it you never read the bio on Bronze Strongmen.

The Strongmen of the Carnival of Shadows are capable of amazing feats of strength. The Bronze Strongmen are recruited for their potential and are dominated by the Ring Mistresses. They are then put through a rigorous training regimen to achieve their Herculean physique and are sealed in their helmets.

CoH is a smorgasbord of BDSM.

Why should there be any differing standard of dress for men v. women anyway

Cuz girls look good in little black dresses and men (generally) do not?

I approve of, nay, encourage this trend of breast-baring. Especially when I'm around.

Erm, in that case it's psychically dominated (mind controlled), not whips and chains dominated.

But yeah, there's plenty of (very) mainstream BDSM kitsch in CoX.

Honestly, I figured there were probably more, but my brain could not conjure them up. And Strongmen also have whip marks on their backs if I'm not mistaken.

The smorgasbord isn't even out of type for the superhero genre, considering in some incarnations Wonder Woman is a BDSM fantasy gone wild. Among many many other examples, of course.

They are criss-crossed with scars all over, which are most definitely NOT whip marks.

I thought CoX was rated Teen. The devs go out of there way to gen names and costumes that are inappropriate for the Teen rating. Nothing with a sexual nature or undertone is allowed due to the rating. Rightfully so though. Which is cool an all but what confuses me is now with booster pack 3. They are introducing cross dressing. It potentially opening up a huge can of worms. Now if you changed gender and it applied to all character slots then this would even have come up. but since you can have say 3 slots male and 2 female. Say what ya want but that is cross dressing and i would think that this would violate the Teen rating. Maybe im wrong but i was just wondering. Idk what kinda recourse would happen if a game violated the game ranking but i rather not find out. I enjoy this game very much. its not perfect but its still a great game. Though i think the cross dress is going a bit far. Maybe change it so that when you gender bend it applies to all character slots not just 1 costume slot. Is it possible if we can get some kind of Dev clarification on this issue plz?

TEEN
Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.
MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.

I'd like to point out that Marvel, a company that has essentially had to operate under a "T" rating for years, had a villain named Vamp who became an androgynous Male looking being named Animus.

So it works.

Oh, for God's sake. -At least- 90% of kids shows(yes, including the ones on in the early morning that ask you questions) have some form of crossdressing. If a kid plays this game and sees that a man can wear a skirt and lipstick, they will not think "Oh my god, this is a message. I am supposed to dress like Mommy from now on." they think "Haha!". I mean, seriously now. Kids are in more danger of thinking they should start mercilessly murdering people from playing the game than they are of thinking they should crossdress.

Actually, now that I think of it, this "Crossdressing and transsexual blasphemy" will teach the kids that it's not wrong to see a woman that looks masculine and a man that looks feminine, if anything.

Seriously though, take it easy, okay?

I have two male concepts that use the female builds. One is a cross-dresser (twin sister died...he didn't take it well)...he looks completely feminant. I won't be using the male build on him at all.

My other is the future self of one of my toons (an 11 yearold). He's suppossed to have a more girlish figure, when he grows out of his baby fat. This will allow me to keep a dedicated slot to his future self, and not need to make an alt, everytime I plan to RP him.

Let me explain something. Really...for a teen rating you can mention alot more than CoH will let you (I mean really, have you ever seen an after school special...drugs, sex, incest, [censored], ect...ect.).

Or prime time television. It's Teen rated.

What you don't do, is get EXPLICIT! (Did I spell that right >.>;; I know I could just check that dictionary that's one foot away from me, but...naaaa).

Also, I think what you will find alot of is suddenly people will have their shapeshifters more a reality.

Go watch some PG-13 movies.

Hell, Spaceballs is rated PG and uses the F-word.

Actually, no, the scars are deep, not puffed up like branding marks.

Take a look: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Carnival-Strongman.jpg

The scars are relatively short (compared to whip marks), irregular in length, they criss-cross. They indent, some are clean and some are jagged and uneven in both width and depth. There's several different kinds of wounds here.

The ones on the left arm even partially encircle the arm and are both clean and even. No way a ring or a whip caused that.

Honestly, I think they're supposed to be battlescars, given the irregularity and inconsistency of the wounds, and that like someone else pointed out, anything else is purely subtext.

I was being a smart-[censored]... I knew that they weren't branding marks. I always kind of figured they were battle scars from fighting the other heroes in the city.

Edit: Villains if you happen to be in the Rogue Isles.

It the usual thing of "I'm right, I'm definitely right, I won't listen to any evidence to the contrary, I will outright ignore it just so I can continue to state my opinion!"

Seriously, What about Bugs Bunny, what about ANY bloody cartoon where one of the males has to dress as a female to

a) Fool the guards to get past.

b) Lure said guards around the corner with a show of leg before clobbering them on the head so they can free their friends.

c) Use it as a big old distraction technique.

d) Mulan, she in a DISNEY film dressed as a MALE soldier to fight alongside her troops so she could protect her country, since she wasn't allowed as a girl.

There are many, many, many examples of cross-dressing in stuff LESS than teen rated...

I just figured this feature was so they didn't have to do the work required to make an actual shapeshifting powerset.

Posted

I still don't see how it's crossdressing if your toon's gender is changed because of the costume switch....

No actualy. plz explain more on how standing up for what i believe and keeping morals and values intact has anything to do with common sense. sry if your lame attack makes no sense and you do nothing to contribute to the topic. Go troll somewhere else plz.

As far as the cartoons examples go. What happen to two wrongs dont make a right? I never said i agree with it. you only presume i do. Wrong is wrong and that's just the way it is. As far as mulan dressing up as a warrior. i didnt know soldiers had to be males. i fail to see how Disney has cross dressing in there movies. If they have and im unaware of it then plz provide a better example then then Mulan. Your comment is not only wrong but comes off sounding sexist.

As to Zombie saying men with long hair and girls wearing jeans is cross dressing that's just ridiculous. May be it was considered some generations ago but not today. today ppl changing outfits/costumes or appearance to look like the opposite sex is a current day example. See drag. Which by allowing to change form male to female with different outfits on the same toon at will is drag. like it or not.

As to the person that said there are clubs that do dress up stuff and drag that are 16 and older not just 18 still only furthers my point. 16+ doesnt fall under the Teen rating. which states its sutable for thous that are 13+. 16 dont equal 13.

Thank you for conflating cross-dressing with immorality. That is incredibly bigoted.

Also, you calling someone out on "sexism" and calling troll is comedy gold. For the record, Mulan dressing up as a man (which she did- and by your definition, would that not be cross-dressing?) was because of the limitations of the time period. Yes of course women can be soldiers- they couldn't in China in ~581 AD (I don't know exactly when Mulan is supposed to be set, so if I get that wrong, apologies). You making a sexism argument there is absolutely mindboggling.
