  1. Enhancements and the ability to solo everything were the selling points for me. I like to have the freedom to both look good (the pieces I want) as well as be capable/strong. Enhancements let me achieve this by avoiding the visual clutter that almost every other MMO seems to find a beneficial/enjoyable system. I'll take invisible enhancements over "mix-and-match the game' any day.

Sheesh, you're a rather toxic fellow...Let the man have his opinions and respect his position. It is better to ignore than to insult.

I honestly dunno where I'll go for information. I doubt I'll go to Titan Network (at least not the forums). I guess I'll just stick with SEGS.

As someone that did this with a broken IO build (I gave away most of my stuff back in 2010 when I quit for a while) I can confidently say it's absolutely amazing. You're a walking machine of death and overkill.
  4. ---I realize this thread has been done before, but I wanted to check and see one last time just what people will remember from this game---

What are some of the most memorable moments/most unusual events you experienced in City, regardless of whether they were exciting or somber moments? For me one of my favorite moments is when I soloed the Mender Silos Task Force on my Earth/Thermal Controller at level 38. I was overflowing with a sense of accomplishment, coupled with an air of confidence in my build that I could solo just about anything.

When I ran a shard TF weekend on my Soldiers/Traps Mastermind and fell in love with the zone, lore and all.

Hitting 50 on my EM/WP Brute, my first 50 that I ever acquired doing almost entirely solo content (and the first legitimate 50, the others I usually had farmed in Peregrine by a friend). I'll never forget that character

My first sighting of the Hamidon on my D3 Controller and the realization that no-one wanted me to take up a slot for the raid, hah. Such an awkward moment and awe-inspiring moment at the same time.

The LRSF on my EM/WP Brute. Nothing like that last level where your team is brimming with confidence and gloriously wipes attempting to overpower the phalanx Such a perfect moment when we came back and downed all but Statesman.

Leaving Sharkhead for St. Martial for the first time and seeing the massive Casino district on the horizon. Nothing like seeing the Giza in the distance magnetically stealing my gaze and curiosity for the next few hours!

The first time I found the Storm Palace admist the chaos of purple lightning and floating wisps. Its size always gave me a sense of authority and mystery.

Being invited to the Arena thinking we'd face off against waves of enemies...Yeah, that was such a long day of low-level chaos I'll never forget that session, especially all of the holding patterns I put people in with my D3.

The return of the Rikti was such an exhilarating event for me that I flew up to one of the ships with my Brute and attempted to kill it. Needless to say I was tasting dirt in a matter of seconds.

My first LGTF after watching a music video of it on youtube--my hype was indeed quite strong. Getting to the Honoree, facing the weakened Hamidon, hordes of Rikti--this TF had it all.

There's so much more I could post but I don't have the time to do it. So how about you? What things do you remember as being almost unforgettable?
  5. I never came full-circle with my Mastermind Col. James Riley. Originally I had planned to retire him after he saved the city from the Rikti by soloing the 3rd Hero Respec. It was to be his grand finale--all his efforts finally come to fruition from his failures in the first Rikti invasion. I truly do regret never doing that, and honestly I just can't find the time or the energy to log in and finish him off on that final, glorious run.

The other thing I regret not doing was finishing my story arc that I spent the last 6 months working on. I was halfway done when the announcement dropped and just couldn't see the end in sight (well...that and my terrible habit to over-analyze and second guess myself helped to delay the process).
  6. Eh, I'd rather not argue with her to be honest. A few years ago I would've, but I've cooled down a lot since then. Unfortunately the game will pass on the 30th, however, I'm willing to see what the future holds. Emulator? Sure. Revival? Sure. But this current iteration of City of X is going to have a very long rest come 11:59 on the 30th.

    An Update

Jeez...People sure can be aggressive and disrespectful on both sides.
  14. A single tear in memory of the awe-inspiring greatness that is EA/WM...
  15. Sean, thanks. All I can say.

    PS Television is better.

    I forgot my joke tags.
  17. In a heartbeat, provided they make PvP accommodations.
  18. Whew, at least I would be able to choose Union! Not fond of the other two choices.
  19. I'll avoid the lag fest and do some solo stuff, maybe a TF or two.

Minimum team size on tf/trials/etc or missions requiring multiple simultaneous clicks.
Mind if I agree with you on all of those points and add a few of my own?

    **Minimum TF/SF/Trial Sizes

**Being able to only lead trials once

**Unused/un-updated Special enhancements (Crystal and Hydra)

    **Lack of Villain Special enhancements
  21. I decided to do this here considering I didn't spend all my time on Infinity, and I figured if I'm going to do it right why not put it in general?

I gave this a lot of thought over the past few weeks since the announcement of the shutdown of the game, the studio and, as is obvious, our boards. Over the years I haven't been the most sincere or the most articulated of posters--I've gone about doing illogical and malicious things that I regret from the bottom of my heart. I wanted this to be a sort of "sorry" for my behavior, posts, actions, etc. I've matured a lot since back then, especially emotionally (I was going through difficult times--no excuse for my actions in this regard), and I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the times I said something painful, I'm sorry for the times I've been indirectly or directly involved in an activity that caused you grief or sorrow, I'm sorry for anything I've written on these boards that has been completely absurd or upsetting, and I'm sorry for all the times I struck out in a compromising or vicious manner. I do not wish to see the Cities (Villains and Heroes alike) go and leave ill-will towards anyone left lingering, especially not with the passing of a monumental community and game. I realize efforts are being made, but I want this to stand irregardless of the outcome of the game's future.
And with apologies comes the realization that I wish I could fix the mistakes I made and the behavior that I expressed through unconventional means. Reality is a painful well of suffering and back-peddling--I can only ask for forgiveness and live with sins I have committed. I realize I was wrong, I realize I was cruel, I realize I was too personal and emotionally compromised, yet the points of this apology is to make one thing clear: I understand and accept the things I have done, and I am fully aware I was in the wrong. You know who you are in some form or another, and you know what I've done. I am truly, deeply remorseful for potentially ruining your experiences.

And as for this next part, I wish to extend my gratitude to my home server of Infinity, as well as Protector and Guardian. My time spent on those servers was immensely enjoyable, creating within me a well of memories and emotions that I will happily invoke through nostalgic remembrance. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the fun task forces, the exciting strike forces, my first steps into the city, the sense of adventure, and for the all the fish I received or was denied (trust me, I remember being denied that fish--I remember you). Thanks for all the wondrous, incomprehensible moments that I was witness to within our cities, both hero and villain. I will never forget my first and last encounters with the Hydra--our team was whipped on both occasions, barely overcoming the situation with a bit of luck and some good-ole-fashioned heroic elbow grease. My first Hamidon raid on Villain side, the only one I ever witnessed as a victory over the might of that monstrosity. Those weekend TFs and SFs with the Infinity squad (you guys were awesome ), the Jello Shooters chat (my god that channel is incredible ), and my quiet evenings on Guardian with a friend or two (a relaxing time worth at least two)--these experiences have shaped the community in my eyes. If you read anything, read this: thank you from the depths of my heart for giving the city a soul, and for giving me memories worth keeping.

As a final note to the developers still with us or departed to other projects: thank you for making this game accessible and slow-riding for solo players. I cannot begin to express my gratitude at the ability to do just about anything solo, as well as doing it at my leisure and pace. I rarely stumble upon a game that gives you such freedoms solo as City of Heroes and City of Villains have. Thank you for your continued dedication to the game's future and for the dedication you've shown in past projects--I would not have been able to enjoy the game so completely as I have were it not for your efforts. You have my thanks, my gratitude, and hopefully my money. Should you save the city in some form or another or move on to new projects I will always remember this shining gem in the darkness of the MMO market that was born of your visions, hard work and investments. I salute you.

From your not-so-recognized forumite to a community that he has loved for nearly a decade: my belated gratitude, apologies, and hopes. May we enjoy a few more rounds together in the coming weeks. Thank you so much!
  22. On second thought I'd like to add:

**Make Another Mastermind (I'll finally have 13!)

    **Re-build my Thugs/Pain

    **Return to Infinity server

    **Break out my suggestion box

  23. I kid, I kid. I certainly don't blame Anet for this, but I will say that I was...disappointed with Guild Wars 2. Definitely not as special or as anti-grind as was promised. Still, GW2 is a fun game, and I suppose that's what matters.
