The Robot Heavies seem to (sometimes) have a mind of their own? I had one last night and it proceeded to trudge across the zone (towards what I don't know) and I was giving it commands to 1) Stay, 2) Follow and 3) attack my target.
It seemed to ignore all of those commands. Perhaps some indication of what the heavy is up to might be needed. Such as, going to point bravo, or attacking $target.
They still look cool even though mine was dumb as a stump.
[/ QUOTE ]
When I finally managed to get my hands on one of the robots (around 5 am ) it seemed to follow my commands well enough. There was one time though, when I got pretty far ahead of it and it suddenly started off in a different direction randomly. This could just be part of the general problem with the pet AI on Test currently though. When I was on my mastermind and teamed with another mastermind we both had major problems controlling our pets. I've seen plenty of other MMs reporting the same.
What is the minimum level for this zone?

So... Any Exploration Badges found yet? Villains with Top Dog, anything? }=D
[/ QUOTE ]
There are 4 Exploration badges in this zone, and not in the places where they would be if this was the real Atlas Park
The exploration badges are:
Dark Victory/Temporal Fighter
Last Stand
Globetrotter
Ragnarok
Edit: @TacRedline: Min lvl is 40

7 months... and all we get for a lvl 50 pvp zone is a rehash of Atlas Park? What a joke. I'm glad I didn't renew my account.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm also glad you didn't renew it.
When spawning in the hospital (villain side) I noticed my health was at 1/6 and my endurance was the same as 'at death'. Apparently everyone is experiencing this. Bugticketed it, not sure if this is by design, but it IS irritating.

Matt Miller: The Patron Powers are stronger and more powerful than the equivalent powers in City of Heroes (the Ancillary Power Pools), because there is less diversification and the fact that Patron choices are permanent alterations to your character.

Can I have your........Aw nuts, I can't do it, joke is so stale.......
But I can offer a parting prayer for our disillusioned game mate, "Fare thee well on thine departure from CoX, and let not the door hitheth thee where the Good Lord hath spliteth thee. We look upon this not as the loss of a comrade, but rather as the gain of bandwith, and we shall not cry, but shall rejoice in this. All those present say Amen, and CYA!"

This happened to my Heavy as well. He ran (painfully slowly) to the literal other end of the zone, right into a nest of villains, and died. He would follow my commands momentarily and would then continue to run about in random directions.
Once he respawned and I recaptured him, though, he worked fine, and was lots of fun. He didn't make that much difference with so many heroes in the zone, but once the hype wears off and fewer people are in the zone, the Heavies will become important. And they're cool. But they can't be TPd.
The only thing I don't like about them is that once you're "Captured" them, you can keep them as long as you want, precluding anybody else from using them. I think they need a set duration on them--say they respawn after two "Dimensional Reversions."

I like that it is Atlas Park. I never go back there anymore...
I remember reading somewhere, Masterminds were reporting this bug on Live (might have been on test) just before I7 hit test, so I would assume its to do with the mastermind controls, and not the dumb robot :P
I too could not find the mission contact ... I WANT MY RISK TAKER BADGE!
There is the problem at the moment with Heroes outnumbering Villains about 5-1, but think about it ... easier badges for your Ho .... urrr Hounds ... until they get upto scratch ...
CHAMPION!
So Heroes will have about 2 to 3months of doubled prestige waiting for villians to get 50 and hamio's, putting us even further behind then we already are. Well It's only prestige right?!
Stalkers<RV

Villians<FA
Alright, I played in there for a couple of hours last night.
Overall impression: the whole cycle of the zone happens WAY TOO FAST. Something needs to be done to slow down the turnaround time and force the side that takes pillboxes to actually defend them. Right now gray pillboxes are just being zerged hard and fast for the quick win, and I bet that will continue to be the pattern later.
Here's my example that repeated dozens of times in just 2 hours. Zone resets (Dimensional Reversion or whatever), everything goes gray. Heroes bum rush every gray dot on the map. 1 character can wipe all 4 turrets and grab the glowie in < 60 seconds. Before 2 minutes has passed since the Dimensional Reversion, half the map is owned by the hero side. Before 3 minutes has passed, the "Heroes Win" message pops up, and we go back to "defeat extra villains for bonus prestige." The timer in this part lasts longer than the entire battle over the pillboxes. When the zone finally reverts, less than 10 minutes has passed since the last reversion.
Having the "epic battle" repeat every 10 minutes sure makes it feel unimportant. Compare this to Siren's Call, where even under the best conditions it takes an hour or two to win the zone for your faction, since that bar moves slowly. The breakneck speed at which the RV cycle resets and repeats will make it very monotonous to me.
The Elite Boss pet robots are unimpressive graphically and utility-wise. (Sorry. ) I mean, the new Cataphracts look great but both they and the spiders are too small. Their powers made me yawn and didn't affect the battle much if any. Compared to a Blaster, Scrapper, or some Tankers, they are just slow, dumb AI distractions. (Sorry again. ) They really need to be AV class to be worthwhile.
Speaking of AVs, I saw a few show up and they were also unimpressive. A few heroes working together decimated Lord Recluse in short order. What's worse, I rushed to fight Black Scorpion at a pillbox where "Arachnos reinforcements have arrived" and after I got him targeted, he despawned! Please, don't have them despawn if the battle is over, just let them roam around. Give them preprogrammed aggro on every pillbox in the zone if you have to.
Compliments to the Devs:
- Graphically morphing zone = awesome
- Fighting in Atlas Park is actually very cool
- Cataphracts look good
- Whole presentation hero-side rules, hero base is cool as hell! Love that tactical floor map! Mynx posters are cool too.
- Pillboxes seem well-designed (but are still too easy to win)
This is also because there's a ton of heroes and very few villains at the moment. When both sides are more equally represented, I have a feeling the give and take of the zone will be a lot greater.

"Curse you Perry the Plata...wait, is that Love Handel?" - Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Phineas and Ferb
Yes, sorry, not trying to address H vs. V balance at all. Villain side is underdeveloped on Test right now so of course they're gimpy. I still feel that things move too fast for this to qualify as "epic" in any way... even if one side's PCs outnumber the other side by 2-to-1 it should take more than 10 minutes to rinse and repeat the cycle of the zone.
Winning the entire zone comes off as hardly more important than winning a single hotspot in SC. If the battles are that short there won't be any long-term appeal for me at least. I need my timesink zones to at least give the illusion of doing something important... winning RV for the 18th time will hardly seem significant and will make me want to go do something else.
Hmm, now that I've thought about it, the spawns seemed to be non-existant in RV. Maybe cause heroes were killing all the arachnos, but there didn't seem to be that heavy of Longbow. Though increasing the spawns might induce more lag, perhaps having to worry about npcs damaging (or defending) pillboxes might slow things down some.

Oh and get 10 more levels and max out you "States-O's"
Your examples would be like a level 20 villan entering Sirens Call and complaining that all the lvl 30 heroes with their SO's were destroying them.
D'uh.
Not a valid comparison.

You took the words out of my mouth, er keyboard. Either way, thanks. Not that I expect it to keep the throng of Stalkers from crying foul until they have it easy again...
Dominators don't need mitigation from their secondaries. Even if they did, there's ice (slows), psi (-recharge), and fire and elec (death).
-Talen_Lee commenting on Energy Assault's Utility
I believe at that start of this thread someone said there was a prestige bonus for members of the opposite side, the ones that control RV, while they control it.
If this is the case could this particular aspect be put on hold an patched into the zone in like a month or 2? Right now heroes will rule that zone unless we delay leveling to constantly fight the losing battle nd just hope to thwart them, or we rush to 50 to combat them...and in that case we don't get to enjoy all the content.
Here's what I've found so far:
[ QUOTE ]
Didn't see any signature heroes or villains turn up to defend the last pillboxes, like they were supposed to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't see any myself, but others have, so it may just be that they aren't spawning as frequently as some thought.
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, rezzers when you die leave you at 1 HP and 1 End, but the zone is amazing! WOW it was so much fun!
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. Both times I bought it, I only came back with 1 HP and 1 End. Probably a bug, this is not normal for other PvP zones.
[ QUOTE ]
Heroes outnumber vills and heroes are broken so the zone will always be under that control.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only becuase there are a LOT more high level heroes than villians ATM. I don't think that will take long to change though.
And after the Prestige bonus round, the zone reverts to neutral pill boxes (grey), at which point heroes can take them over (they turn blue), or villians can take them over (they turn red). This system looked to be working fine yesterday as far as I could tell.
[ QUOTE ]
And sounds like a ton of prestige exploits on the way.
[/ QUOTE ]
In order to get the Prestige round, all eight boxes must be under the control of the same faction. which should be harder once more higher-level villains start appearing. We'll just have to see how this plays out over the next ccouple of weeks to shake it down.
[ QUOTE ]
Has anyone figured out how to get missions? I can't find a contact.

Honestly didn't look LOL. I think I'll take a look tonight.

(...) the tanks still sucked but what can they do besides taunt and take a beating.
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, I think this will be my tank's new favorite PvP zone. APPs really help; it's harder for enemies to ignore you at range when you're launching Fireballs and Char

Well said.
Another thing I noticed is that the Heavy spawn points aren't listed on the map. Is this intentional or not?
I've got more testing to do tonight on this, I just jumped into it yesterday for the fun of it, but tonight I'll be looking for the mission contact (if he/ she exists) and be reviewing Heavy AI (if I can get one), maps, etc.

Positron siad we'd be able to do missions in RV, so if there's no mission contact (which I plan to verify tonight), it's either bugged, missing, or not implemented on Test yet.
there was a person who said "Ah $heroname, good to see you, let's get started" in the room that lead out to the battlefield (hero-side, natch)... I didn't stop to talk to him, but wasn't that the contact?
