Well Just got done doing some pvping with my Villain-lvl 40 dominator-and man....talk about pretty pointless for villains at this time. Essentially the heroes camped every pill box and the villain base the entire time--I'd wager it took less than 5 minutes for the heroes to win, over and over again. Now I understand that on the individual servers there won't be quite this big of an Imbalance of populations. But still I could see a large oranized supergroup completely owning the zone and wracking in unfathomable amounts of prestige and even XP from fighting the signature villains over and over again that this could be exploitable. All in all a great idea, but hopefully Villains will get a buff to make it at least a competitive zone.

The only reason the Villains have been getting PWND in Recluse's Victory is sheer numbers. For some reason, the ratio of Heroes to Villains is about 5:1. The lack of Villain PPPs (as of yet) plays a small role, but once all you Villains level up to 50 and the numbers even out, there's no reason why one side should have an advantage.

Villains also have TONS more stuff to test. They have a huge zone, patron powers, level 41-50 content, and several new powersets. Most of them are busy doing that instead of pvp'ing. Yes, when the numbers even out, this will be the ultimate pvp zone.

Some days are just bad days, it's gonna happen and this was one of 'em guys. Today in RV there were probably more heroes at each pillbox then there were villains in the entire zone. Of course, a gankfest of outrageous proportions quickly followed. Hell, they not only ganked us, I think they wiped the entire map of every arachnos mob except the entrance drones. Eh, like I said, it's all gonna happen at some point. On the good side, it did make me aware of one or two zone issues.

First, the villain entry point is a bottleneck and far too easily campable. Can the area in front be widened maybe? As it is now the heroes just set up camp at the end of the drone line with ice slicks, patchs, hurricaness, illusion armies, and invisibale snipers and not going through them wasn't an option. If the hero entrance is the same I would suggest changing it too. Bottlenecks for entry points is just not a good way to go.

Second, I know the signature heroes and villains are meant to be tough as hell but they may be a little too tough right now. From what I saw controllers and dominators are useless against them even in large numbers and with domination going. I saw a full team of heroes go at Recluse and they had three heavies with them, he was still at 3/4's health when he simply despawned. I know I'm a villain and all, but they should have had the win on that one.

I think there was something else, but it's escaped me now. I'll post again later if I remember.

My question is, what earns you "points" Players only or NPCs as well?

I know if you earn 1000 points you get a heavy temp power, but how on earth do you earn 1000 points.

I'm hoping to see more villains in RV soon too. I managed to spend a whole 10 or 15 minutes there after crashes and before a server reboot, and had an absolute blast. I sincerely hope that with more balanced numbers each battle is more give-and-take and isn't over in minutes. This is the CoX PvP I've been waiting for.

Regarding the rehash of Atlas Park... I think with the scenic changes as the tides turn, it's great. I'd rather fight over something familiar and iconic than some new zone I have no attachment to. This is where all my heroes BECAME HEROES. And from a villain's perspective, this is a powerful and symbolic place to strike. Kudos, devs!

And now if only the Training Room would come back up, I might offer more constructive criticism...

They're probably suffering from the overbuffed AV/Hero issues discussed in another thread -- Recluse's regen rate, plus ***** health, probably meant he was nigh-immune to damage unless heavily -regen debuffed. I briefly tussled with Ghost Widow along with a half-dozen other heroes (as I recall one heavy was with us), and we didn't make a dent in her before she despawned. I of course couldn't hold her either, but did manage to attract enough attention to get whacked with her DOT immobilize.

Villains are 4 powers behind.
Villains are 18? slots behind.
Stalkers aren't used to teaming.

You're probably also vastly out numbered because RV is about the only new thing for Heroes.

i am still crshing when i enter/exit recluse's victory, happens when it enters the loading screen, then have to restart my pc cause it bugs my pc out from the crash =/

Yes, I am too. Even after turning ALL graphics options to the MINIMUM allowed by the program...it loads to 1/5th or 1/4th...then my video driver stops responding! Really hope I7 won't do this too

{Edit} This is happening from both Hero AND Villain sides!{/edit}

{2nd Edit} This also includes starting the program for a toon who tried to zone to (and presumably is in) Recluse's Victory: when choosing that toon, the bar does the same progress, then WHAMMO{/2nd edit}

Okay, I found the real exit. This is still messed up, but it's not a bug so much as it is poor map and location setup.

I'd suggest putting up signs on the walls showing which way will take you to the portal out, just to clear up confusion, and to fix the map so that the way out is properly indicated (call the portal 'Portal to Present', and give the base portal its proper name).

testing has become a SERIOUS problem due to the fact there are heroes outnumbering the villains at the villain base, and even if you manage to bypass the mobs, they continuely HUNT you around preventing people from collecting badges to test accolades, and even trying to test the AV's/Hero NPC's to see if they are too powered or too easy (atm they seem overpowered) we've told many times what some of our intentions are, that we are here to TEST things out, but i find when i explain what i want to do before it hits live, i get a mob chasing me all over the map purposely...

i seriously think people NEED to know what TEST is for and to not prevent people TESTING when they are in the zone and tell people numberous of times they aren't there for pvp, can WAIT after I7 hits live

Here was my idea... I don't know if this will work, but I think so we can at least see how all of the AV's/heroes are working we ask a GM to set 4 pillboxes to Villain controll (if this is possible) and allow us to see how they are working out. Then once we've tested them, the zone can be reset.

All they need to do is just make it so the AV/Hero's stay until they are defeated.If the zone is taken over and they are still there,they retreat to their base until the Dimensional Reversion.

i've seen some AV's Mako/Recluse

yet to see any Heroes (besides the ones ganking me)

things would be alot easier if people worked TOGETHER, but this isn't gonna happen, i've explained and tried, but english is something people in this zone simily cannot read it seems

we gotta work together as hero/villains to see if these AV's/Hero NPC's need to be redone, but as far as i know, gonna be hard, and i can't wait for the day that once it hits live people scream "NERF MAKO HE"S TOO REGEN UBER!!!11!!11!!!!1!"

i've been to RV twice with my FF/Rad defender. Each time i've had a low virtual memory warning pop up followed by a client crash within 5 seconds. This has happened after about 10-15 minutes in RV.

[/ QUOTE ] They/ we had Synapse(didn't see personally), Manticore, Positron, Back Alley Brawler and Sister Psyche; not all at the sametime: up early this morn. Like 1 or 2am PST.
Less people= less variables. Give it a few more days and the novelty will die down for those that are there to check out the new stuff.

I know as a Hero the entrance to RV is in Atlas Park. Which zone has the entrance for Villians?

they really need to suppres the pvp asoect for the time bieng since most ppl arnt doin any sort of testing , and those that try are being slaughtered

btw its seems that when ever villians take 3 pillboxes server crashes
