As a stalker (yes i know i'm 10 lvl's lower than most heroes in here), I can't see me useing this zone much if ever there are just too many builds who can individually see through both Hide and Stealth combined, which completely negates the whole AT's strength.
Placate seems broken in this zone as an example i was fighting a stray blaster after i AS'd him i placated him (there were no other heroes about so no team buffs to minimise placate), after i AS'd he ran through 3 buffs BU/AIM and PB i did not attack him during this and merely SJ'd away he then shot me when i was about 30' away theres wasn't time for placate to have worn off or for him to have que'd his attack b4 i placated him.
I think even long term i will only take Heroes into the zone i have built and killed off most builds both hero and villan and i think that hero's will long term have a large advantage. My scrappers feel godlike in there and not all are 50. I think the other zones are far more balanced as if you are teamed and the team plays well you will all do well(both hero and villan) a mixed team is usually the way to go but as i mentioned earlier i cant see to many stalkers playing in a zone where they are visable which gives the heroes a greater freedom.
These are just my opinions b4 everyone jumps up and down on this post and i'm not looking for a flame war.
The zone is good but some tweaks are needed.
It does seem like the pace needs to be slowed, as has been mentioned. While I was there, the heroes took over all the pillboxes and the zone immediately reset to all gray. Seems like the winning side should get a few minutes to enjoy the victory -- but then someone mentioned a 10-minute double prestige period. Is the timer bad or does that take place after the pillboxes reset? I'm not entirely clear on how all this is supposed to work.
Ghost Widow put in an appearance. She was ridiculous. There was at least handful of us beating on her (5? I didn't take the time to look around and count) and we couldn't make a dent. Not a dent after several minutes. If that's what's planned, I'm not even interested in that fight. A long fight is one thing, but that was just pointless. And giant fights that require too many heroes/villains aren't that much fun -- you lose any sense of making a contribution.
The power she has to make you float in the air looks cool.
yeah placate was nerfed hard a few patches ago, all heroes have to do is hit tab to retarget you, its retarded
I've been playing here for a few hours, and I'm going to have to call Dooooooom. The hero APPs are just so far superior to PPPs its not even funny. It's not that big of a deal in PvE, since one could probally get by fine with just pool powers. But PvP... forget it. I'm not setting foot in this zone again
One thing that always turns me off to going to Warburg in CoH when Im leaving a toon in the 40-50 range...it takes so long to get there from pi. And my 50 is parked in the Hive, so thats a long hike too. This is one thing that was well done about CoV...all the gates to the PvP zones are in the according PvE zone.
Is there anyway we could do one of the following...
1. Make an enterance to RV in pi
2. Make a gate that takes us to atlas from pi
3. Move the RV enterance alltogether
Another complaint about having it in Atlas is lag, especially near the statue. Its like putting it in Talos.
Just wondering... What other Signature Characters are there? Since the zone is dominated by Heroes, Signature Heroes never pop up. So far ive seen Statesman, Back Alley Brawler, and Positron. Who else comes in on the action?
I have a suggestion:
We all have seen how congested (read: laggy) Atlas Park can be with City Hall the epicenter of dozens of characters emoting. Those of us with 50's have trecked through this mess for mission only to be bombarded with tells begging for influence and or PL'ing.
Conversely, Galaxy City is usually comparitively empty and quiet.
May I suggest we move the entrance to Recluse's Victory to the Data office in Galaxy?
It would drive a little traffic to this underused zone, be gentler on low-end machines, and other-wise be easier on the level 50's who have to travel through the low zone to get there.

I think that's a great idea. Dunno if it's possible to do that at this late date, to get it in before Live release, but a great idea.

They don't need to do that,they just need to observe the people only there to annoy the villians when they try to test things out and when we try to spawn the AV's and they kill the other Pillboxes.

Yes, I am too. Even after turning ALL graphics options to the MINIMUM allowed by the program...it loads to 1/5th or 1/4th...then my video driver stops responding! Really hope I7 won't do this too

I've also seen Sister Psyche, Manticore, and heard that Synapse made an appearence (didn't get a chance to see him before he despawned).
I decided to see RV from both sides.
I logged on as Bill Z Bubba, lvl 50 claws/sr scrapper. Build not designed for PvP. I kicked a bunch of tail. Somewhat effortlessly.
I logged on as Beel Z Bubba, lvl 40 em/ea brute. I had my tail TROUNCED repeatedly, quickly, painfully. Maybe getting fully slotted out by 50 will make a difference, but I rather doubt it. I felt like a defender in PvP playing my brute. Confused, taunted, feared, toggle dropped by phantasms(?) held, two shotted by a lone blapper... it was pathetic.
I see why villains aren't bothering much in there.

How does the Robots work. I took one on my dom and still got killed fast. Do you have to stand liek right next to it? Because I thought I was pretty close.
The villains just won the zone a moment ago. I along with some other heroes simply dismissed the turrets and let villains take over the pill boxes.
The zone looked pretty cool. When the villains won there was a counter that said to defeat villains to revert it back. 100 kills to do that. I assume it is the same for when the heroes win? The countdown finished before that was ever possible and the zone reverted back anyway. Perhaps the countdown timer should be a little longer or the number of kills lowered for that phase.

Yep, 100 kills to revert the zone back early...that's what we villains see all the time.
The timer is 5:00, right? 100 kills in 5:00 does seem a bit extreme, especially considering that whatever side just lost the zone is probably outnumbered and outfought. With the 1HP/1END ressurecting thing, I doubt that there would even be 100 targets available to kill over the course of the 5 minutes unless the zone were packed.
As an alternative, how about each kill subtracts 5-10 seconds (or some other small amount of time) from the clock? I'm assuming that such tech wouldn't be too hard to implement, considering that you have +time modifiers in mayhem missions. As it is, it's easier and more productive (in the sense of earning less prestige for the heroes) for my villain to just hide in the base or the corners of the map until the timer ticks down.
I thought that if you take down the counter you get temp powers and shiney things? Anyone able to do this yet?
Dont even know where to start , the idea behind this is great, there is alot of issues in PVP that need to be addressed though for this zone to be "fun" or even balanced . Till then should be named Statesmans victory because Villians are still gimped in PVP.

Same thing here Bill. I was there with my Brute Project Ego. Heck even with Overload I was getting waxed by a lone controller and a stone tanker. I was mystified. And I couldnt dent anyone. Two acc in each attack with buildup. It was pitiful.

ok to defend the OP on this... I'm not sure how you have a level 50 tank and not know that the Telepads in COH are crap compared to the Pads in COV. We have way more zones then they do, and our telepads only go to zones that are really crappy. Yeh you can TP to the hollows to get to Atlas, but what about the return trip? Villians can use thier pads to go to every non PVP zone. I think heroes should be able to as well.
