Just so you guys know there are players out there that have extremely gimped builds, that would not survive the respec trial. Believe me on this I seen it first hand. Once I realized their builds I had to quit because there is no way we would survive that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had by my standards today an extremely gimp build in i2 when the trial was introduced and managed to complete the trial. The trial aint that hard. -
Wow this is a pretty impressive thing. All we need is it to grant overload type defense and we are good to go
-
Or they are a bubbler and take Fire Epic and Get mez protection.
They do triple damage in PvP. Thats right Triple. -
Its this simple. With containment and their Epic Blasts in PvP they do too much damage. I say let them keep their PvE value but they need to be toned down in PvP. Ive seen them out blast a blaster from range. (Fire Epic)
-
[ QUOTE ]
Containment is fairly potent, but it's completely negated with a single inspiration. Wether we like it or not, when control powers are involved, PvP is balanced around the presence of buckets of Break Frees.
Dominators really do need higher base damage, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Zone warfare insps arent as prevelent as they are in say the arena. A single Breakfree makes a Dom more useless than a troller. Either way a single breakfree doesn't deter the good trollers. -
I'm sorry but yeah containment in PvP is just too rough. It was made when Defense was very high and so was Mez protection.
Controller holds target uses Epic Blasts and kills them fast. Dominator Holds Target (Uses Attacks in their SECONDARY) and takes a good deal of time to kill them if they can kill them in time.
There is no reason whatsoever Contollers should out damage Defenders and Dominators in PvP. None they are a Controlling Debuffing Buff set not a Blaster set. Ive seen certain Troller builds that could kill stuff quicker than a blaster from range. Totally uncalled for. -
How does the Robots work. I took one on my dom and still got killed fast. Do you have to stand liek right next to it? Because I thought I was pretty close.
-

Frankly I think that the domination boost should be lowered by 50% and have the standard attacks boosted in damage to compensate. The domination bonus of increased duration, mag and endurance refill is enough without making it the sole way for a dominator to deal damage. Give it a minor damage boost rather than a major one and tip the scales for the more attacks.

Ok, quick run down:
The AV / Player bonus only applies if your Fury is 80% or more. That's the point where diminishing returns sets in, and this allows you to get to max rage easier. That's not exactly what we wanted, nor is it exactly what you folks were told. I'm sorry for that. I'm uncertain at this time what can be done to improve how this works, but I'll be exploring possibilities.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was alot happier with "Its broke"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, really. The problem with fury in PvP isn't that we can't get from 80% to full fury quickly enough, it's that we have about a snowball's chance in hell of getting even close to 80%. We need help building fury in PvP, period. Not in specifically reaching the very maximum fury possible.

Winner...same with Doms and domination. -

I just sent a PM to cuppa asking if purposefully giving a player debt is considered griefing. Will update when she gets back to me
[/ QUOTE ]
The Devs say - No.
Ultimately PVE mobs in a PVP zones are hazards of a PVP zone. Players do have control (and options) that will prevent them from being victims of the TP Foe tactic.
Regarding being held, immobilized, slept and then being teleported into a PVE mob: griefing? No.
If a player uses TP Foe and teleports another player into a mob, so that their health is reduced, and then finishes them off with a killing shot .griefing? No.
If a player intentionally uses a knockback power (or Repel or Dispersion Bubble) on another player from the top of the roof to the street below where there happens to be a PVE mob, and the players presence draws mob aggro and dies should the player who knocked back the target player off that roof be actioned for griefing? No.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice! The total why we put in the Recall Friend timer option in PvE to prevent no talent assclowns from TPing you into mobs, and off buildings stance has been completely obliterated in PvP. -

<.< I shove ppl into NPCs on my controllers, it's the only way to kill them so they don't kill you. It often isn't get give you debt, it's to keep alive.
>.> also, Cuppa's post hasn't shown up in Dev's digest yet.. so you have a little while before the Deluge
[/ QUOTE ]
So their death with Debt is < your death without any real harm except maybe a long trip back to the fight?
Make sense to me. Anyone else?
[/ QUOTE ]
<.< purfect sense. If they didn't want to die, they wouldn't have attacked me. I don't normally start these, to much trouble, but, if someone really wants to wake me up that much.. then they deserve to come away with something to remember it by
[/ QUOTE ]
ok Ill take note that its ok for me to TP foe you into mobs. -

Hmm I wonder if he would like if I leveled up a /Sonic Corruptor and did nothing but follow him around Sirens and put him in Sonic Cage. I wonder if he would consider that griefing him.
-
If you don't go in there and act like a complete tool then people will respect you and they won't call you out to be ganked. Obviously what you do is allowed in the game play mechanics but obviously the community feels like you are a tool and deserve what you get.
The law of nature lets me go kill someone if I want to but the law of society says no thats not cool at all I will be punished. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. -
Im having serious troubles reading his posts too.
My last action of the night in Sirens was seeing Q Leon on a building and as he jumped I held him. It was kind of funny watching an Ice Cube fly across and landing on another building. I would have gone over and tried to kill him (I stress try. DOMINATOR) but I was on my way out when I saw him. I got a good laugh out of it though. -

But still cannot help but think as Sirens as minor league PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
*nod* But that's the point. There are significantly fewer egos being stroked about in SC as compared to Warburg. In my estimation, you go to WB if you want to beat your chest. You go to SC if you just want to have some fun PvPing.
I imagine that probably does make SC the minor league zone, since those who typically think of themselves as major league tend to gravitate to the chest-beating zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not I........
Also Id like to thank Biotron for hooking Deadboy and I up with a HVND group since we were a duo and the sudden influx of villains drastically cut into what we were doing. LOL Deadboy finally gets a villain toon to 20 and first thing he does is goes to Sirens. Get some SOs MAN!! Hehe. -
I don't think it is minor league at all. I think having to play with only the powers you get from 1-30 is quite refreshing from the "uber" APP toons you find int he arena or the sheer wierdness of a free for all in Warburg (You know because heroes go into that zone and completely lose their minds and start ganking each other). But Yeah I do look forward to a level 50 Hero v Villain zone even if Villains will be fighting at a huge disadvantage for a while. Maybe by then the Devs will come up with a way to make my dominator more than a target or bait for waiting stalkers.
Sirens is the best designed and implimented PvP zone in the game. It has multiple things to do, missions, hotspots, and the great bounty system that encourages players to move all around the zone hunting instead of sitting on beach and patting themselves on the back congratulating themselves on how 1337 they are for holding a fictional piece of dirt. -

Swarm of Orange? You color blind or something? Heroes outnumbered villains 3 to 1 last night by the time I logged. Fortunately I had some VG peeps to team with.
Please allow me to introduce you to the Alan Parsons Project, really cool bunch of players. I am the designated team Smack Talker, the rest let their M@D SK1LLZ do the talkin!!! BTW we have hacked champion, and will not release it until we have been paid 1 MILLION DOLLARS!!!

Oh no doubt, the team rocked! We also at other times had deadboy and later in the evening a bubble defender which really helped.

Yeah i couldnt remember if Deadboy left before or after you joined the team. -
