Recluse's Victory: Issue 7 Update!
Nit: the Rikti war ended in November 2002, so unless the game is taking place in 2004 (which doesn't seem to be the case), it's been almost four years since it ended.

I think he's talking about the Rikti invasion at the end of CoH beta.
Recluse's Victory sounds awesome, the Lord Recluse Atlas Statue is terrifying and disturbing (as a Hero).

But as far as I knew that was never really in-canon...
Can we get some clarification?

Soon, the forces of good and evil will collide in a recursive future as they battle over Recluses Victory. Each victory or defeat will bring the reality of an alternate Atlas Park one step closer to true time.
And so, Lord Recluse calls on all villains of the Rogue Isles to take part in this epic battle that will determine the very fate of the future. Read the transcript of Lord Recluses radio address here.
In response, Statesman calls on all heroes of Paragon City to defeat Lord Recluse once and for all! Read the transcript of Statesmans radio address here.

Im assuming that since Statesman's Strick had Paragon Times coverage, that means it was cannon. Which would imply that the Rikti invasion would probably be too. But thats just my speculation. YMMV
*drool* Lookin' good. And that statue of Recluse? Win.
Man oh man, you guys BETTER have the portal into RV inside of Atlas City hall in plain/easy to find sight of everyone. You BETTER. Can you imagine how insanely awesome it will look to "new" players when they first enter Atlas and see throngs of level 50s and a bloody **PORTAL** right off the bat?

"Hey kid, c'mere," said the grizzled old hero to the new kid just off the bus from Peoria, with a duffle bag over his shoulder, and ill-fitting tights beneath his jacket. The old hero pointed to the shaking, thunderous gateway. "You see that?"
"What is it?" the young man asked, nervously.
"What we fight for, kid. The only thing. Tomorrow."

I love the concept of RV... my only Qualm is that it makes it sound like *our* history's Lord Recluse is an underachiever. He couldn't manage to take over Atlas Park, so he's just dialing up an alternate timeline where an obviously more ambitious Lord Recluse pulled it off. I look forward to the opportunity to beat down on him and his cronies

Following me into battle are Manticore, Positron, Sister Psyche, Synapse, and Back Alley Brawler.

No Infernal? No Infernal!
Victory is ours, villains!!!
(By the way, Back Alley Brawler is about the most active retired guy I've ever seen...)

I don't know, I try to avoid hanging around Atlas Park too long. The broadcast channel in that zone has been known to cause brain damage.

Portals aren't exactly inconspicuous. They tend to make noise.
Awesome! I wonder if there is a different Top Dog badge on top of the Recluse statue?

OK... now can we see the devs adding the nighborhood invasions they mentioned in beta since the world can be dynamically changed with this new technology?

What better carrot to dangle though for new players than seeing stuff like a Statesman standing beside a portal as a clickable contact, and tons of 50s hanging around him, not to mention the great tech/look of the portal? The chatter is chatter, no big deal...
I wonder why Citadel isn't following Statesman into battle.
He at least has been featured prominently in the comic as one of the main Freedom members.

And once again, Numina gets completely overlooked.
Guys, guys, guys! They had to make it fair, y'see. CoV seems to only have five signature villians, so they needed to match them up with five heroes. (Although, I wouldn't have chosen Back Alley Brawler, not after reading in the comics that he's an old retired guy.)

Anyway, with the advent of Recluse's Victory, I hope this is just a taste of things to come. Personally, I was always hoping the whole game would be like this zone (in a more large-scale version). Hopefully lots more to come
Damn, that looks neat!
