    Guinea pigs go "oink?"
  2. Those are helpful tips, and I got my gold medal the same way (minus the jump power). But there was one very important thing you left out.

    Lag

I got the badge on my first try in a lag-free instance of Pocket D (after about a hundred other tries, no exaggeration). What I did was exit the zone by going to Father Time's mission, then coming right back. At the time, I was presented with Pocket D 1-4. I was like "4 should be emptiest, right?"

    Wrong!

Pocket D 4 was just as full as Pocket D 1. So I did the same thing again and tried three, since obviously everyone else was thinking the same thing I was, and flooding Pocket D 4 to escape from all the people.

Pocket D 3 had only four people, total. I took off flying to start my run, and one of those people just tossed me a SB to be nice I guess. Finished it on the first try in 24.66 seconds. I was overjoyed!
  3. I've seen a couple references to confuse in this thread, but I haven't noticed this particular bug. Confuse powers state in their descriptions that if they are used on an enemy who hasn't noticed you, and you do not use any other attack, then that enemy will continue to not notice you.

However, I have noticed on multiple occasions that when I use Deceive on a player's pet (in Warburg every time, if that makes a difference) then my stealth powers are immediately void. I stack Superior Invisibility and Team Invisibility together. I should not be seen, if the description on Deceive is accurate.
  4. Frozen_Horizon, I still find your guide very useful. I imagine any shortcomings are due to lack of observing the market properly, or lack of patience. Your guide is the most helpful that I've read.
  5. Yah, I agree with all of this. Can't think of anything else that is important, really, at this juncture.

Although, I have seen some mention of a handicap system to help out new players learning PvP (and maybe to help out players in general). One idea was to start out players with the highest handicap, giving them very high buffs or something (resistance, tohitt, damage, whatever). As they make effective kills their handicapp would go down, thereby decreasing those buffs. Just another helpful way to learn.
  6. So what happens to all those Cryptic buildings in Paragon City?

Posi and I go through them at length; really, it's just a question of time & resources. Some things would take astronomically long to do - or perhaps there's something else even more requested or popular.

    Like... vehicles?

Nah, it's probably just the abstract idea of "something else even more requested or popular."

  11. Calvinball!!

Wondering if Freaks and Tsoo chasing and kicking the big red ball takes away from the immersion of the game...

NAH!! Make all villains deplore the ball and aggro on the ball! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
  12. I like the OP's idea of it just being a big red ball in one single zone, with no purpose whatsoever. It's more fun if there's not an actual, set game with actual, set rules and goals. Just a big red ball to knock around if you're bored.
  13. Yeah, your music sucks. Epic music. Need epic music.
  14. Definitely the coolest zone (would be cooler if the "evil villains" weren't all hiding in their base ). Here's hoping that the lag isn't like that at all on Live. Like, no lag. At all. I can tolerate it (barely) in Hami raids because they are monotonous and simple. Lag in a dynamic metamorphosizing epic PvP war zone will not be fun in the slightest. Please, if anything, make sure that there will be no lag issues whatsoever except due to the minimum graphics requirements being met on the user's side. (Speaking of which, you guys need to say "nVidia card required" in the system reqs. It is totally the truth! But I digress.)
  15. That's awesome! Now hurry up and fix the test server so I can play s'more!
  16. Holy crap! You mean we're going to have to protect all that stuff the villains are blowing up?
  17. Mmmmm... Statesman mentioned sometime previously about "incarnates"... like Lord Recluse and Statesman... that is my guess for the epic AT.
  18. Guys, guys, guys! They had to make it fair, y'see. CoV seems to only have five signature villians, so they needed to match them up with five heroes. (Although, I wouldn't have chosen Back Alley Brawler, not after reading in the comics that he's an old retired guy.)

Back Alley Brawler: "I'll show you what an 'old retired guy' can do, street sludge!"

Anyway, with the advent of Recluse's Victory, I hope this is just a taste of things to come. Personally, I was always hoping the whole game would be like this zone (in a more large-scale version). Hopefully lots more to come
  19. I don't even understand any of this. Why does everyone have to get jacked for pvp, because " it's not fair! "?? Why cant you just let the hurricaine folks pin their folks against the wall, let the stalker folks sneak up on people and slice them in half, let the controlling folks hold people like they do in the rest of the game, and let everybody just be what they thought they'd be when they signed up for their powers? We choose the powers we think are best, there's a reason for that. It is not so that the game will come along and make everybody the same!!
