Good wrap-up post, Obsidious. That was pretty much my read on things yesterday. I did look around a bit for a mission contact, however, and didn't find one. I was also more inclined to just fart around in RV, though, so things might be different now that that first rush is out of my system.
The respawn at minimal health/end seems like something that the Cryptic crew can fix lickety-split, but I am mildly concerned about pet AI. I gotta test this more and see if it's real, or something like "Did they nerf Accuracy?"
I think it'd be nice if there was more of a visual effect akin to the character levelling one when an anchor reverts or is captured. The shimmering fade is a little anti-climatic. Feels like it needs some more pop. POP!
I haven't lurked in every I7 feedback thread - are there several new hero power sound effects?

If this is the case could this particular aspect be put on hold an patched into the zone in like a month or 2? Right now heroes will rule that zone unless we delay leveling to constantly fight the losing battle nd just hope to thwart them, or we rush to 50 to combat them...and in that case we don't get to enjoy all the content.

That's OK... hero SGs need a prestiege boost badly. Look at the SG registrar and see how far behind hero SGs are.
Did anyone else feel a thrill of excitement the first time you ran into DATA, took the elevator down, heard the portal tech tell you, "Portal systems are fully optimized, portal transfer is a go. Good luck, Typhoon Girl (or whatever your hero's name was)." and dashed into the portal to what waited beyond?

im with you on that, boy nothing like wiffing against someone running elude and they just kick your butt while in retsu, funny thing how retsu and elude are the same power and with scrapper having 50% more hp's being unable to hide from them and they negating half your defense with a toggle, i felt like i was punished for killing all those unprepared noobs that had no tactics in the past.
the only scrappers i can officially pawn are Dark Armor ones, the rest totally were rocking me tonight. eh the tanks still sucked but what can they do besides taunt and take a beating. needless to say even buffs on a team didnt save my behind tonight, kin corruptors are cool and all but nothing can stop a scrapper running elude with FA except, well FA.
i guess if i had 5 sets of tactics running i could have done it, but tonight showed me my first complete A$S woopin in awhile.

Its about damn time stalkers had one weekness. Oh no so now scrappers and tanks can see you if they are running FA and tactics, please. So they have to take a pool that they normally wouldnt take just so they can see and hit you, what other damn at in the game can say that. You get snipes and ranged attacks, or assasins strikes with stuns, 1-2 hit kills and your whining about foccused accuracy? Go back to bed son.
Anyway, Rv is alot of fun. The whole idea and graphic of the zone is great and the heavies are pretty damn cool (even though they are about as slow as can be). They could have done better with the villain heavies then arachnobot disruptors seeing as how the longbow cataphracts graphic is just too cool, but its nothing to complain about. All in all this zone is gonna be an awesome change of pace when it hits live. finalyl a place where stalkers will be forced to use tacitcs, woot!

I thought that was one of the coolest things about th RV experience actually. I thought I heard the SG1 music playing somewhere...
Just a thought. Shouldn't the villains have an inherent advantage in RV? It doesn't really seem like much of a threat if all the heroes have to do is push around weak villains and win by default. Given that 1) Heroes are more powerful than their counterparts (what is up with that?) 2) Heroes have access to Hamidon enhancements and 3) From what I can tell, heroes outnumber villains. It just doesn't seem to me that the heroes really have to step it up at all and defy overwhelming odds or really take heroic measures. In Siren's Call, if you leave the hotspots alone, the heroes will remain in control. Should not the reverse be true in RV? (As a side note...will villains be able to get HO enhancements soon?

I agree, it's extremely annoying to hear that Ghost Widow has spawned, travel to her location, and get there just in time for her to despawn. This is partly due to how quickly the matches are running at the moment, and it should get better once a good number of villains get to 50, but it still seems counter-productive. We want to fight these characters, not just catch a glimpse of them. Maybe give them a retreat path back to their base, rather than having them just disappear.
A question: does anyone know if the AV's can be buffed and healed by their faction? This could lead to the epic PvP battles many want, forcing us to balance fighting each other as well managing the AV.

This would be awesome... I want new badges, JUST for buffing/healing specific Signature Heroes/Villains. I can see it now, "Recluse's Servant" and "Statesman's Sidekick" or something... Hehe.

For the time being heroes are more powerful. Most heroes that are gonna be in RV are gonan be lvl 50 already and have a pretty extreme advantage over villains when this goes live. Give it some time though, in a few months there will be enouhg lvl 50 villains with HO equivalent enhancements and patron powers to even the playing field.
i think this is the place where i add my input right? aside from the times where i get kicked out of the map, which i think is because of MY internet, i love RV.
I found my first exploration badge there about 5 minutes ago. Also, i can use my warshade at full potential and beat up villains. I like how atlas park looks like hell froze over in RV. It's a very nice touch. As well as the spiders and Recluse's army running around.
I love this Zone and i don't have time to check out any other changes. I am very impressed.
Honestly, what I would love to hear in the zone. Some duel of the fates type music. The right music can really enhance the battle between heroes and villains in this zone. RV is really the pinnacle of CoH and CoV right now, let the music enhance that. I know it's too late to change stuff now. But in the future....

Can you (dev's) fix the statue in RV? When the statue is the hero version you can not run under the legs without getting stuck. I believe the cape or coat of the LR is invisible and blocking the way through.
Other than that, great pvp zone.. very fast paced. The hero robots look very cool, but the villains are kinda lame..
Yeh the Atlas statue drives me crazy. Along with those nutty lvl 54 elite boss pets. They can pack a punch, nearly 1 shot my regen. But my favorite thing to do is beat those things down when they are following their owner and the owner doesnt even realize it .
Hasnt read though this whole thread, so don't know if this has been said...
But....when there's a dimensional reversion...all players need to start in their bases I think. Mad Hero on Villain camping is already beginning to ensue.

That's actually an interesting thought. Just port everyone back to base after the prestiege period expires.
I think the zone needs to be bigger too. Perhaps move the force field out to the war walls.
Definitely the coolest zone (would be cooler if the "evil villains" weren't all hiding in their base ). Here's hoping that the lag isn't like that at all on Live. Like, no lag. At all. I can tolerate it (barely) in Hami raids because they are monotonous and simple. Lag in a dynamic metamorphosizing epic PvP war zone will not be fun in the slightest. Please, if anything, make sure that there will be no lag issues whatsoever except due to the minimum graphics requirements being met on the user's side. (Speaking of which, you guys need to say "nVidia card required" in the system reqs. It is totally the truth! But I digress.)

Well some of us DO care about PvP. You can disagree with him all you want, but be a little more respectful then telling someone to "go to hell" just because you dont agree with him.

Also dont forget most heroes also currently have Accolades up the butt. I know on Shorty I got 3 that add +HP and two that add +end. When I hit DP I have 2400.1 HP
I had fun there and think its great. The only problem I saw (besides the laaaag of course) was that the AVs would spawn after the heroes took 5 pillboxes but would despawn if the heroes took another pillbox. So several times we were fighting AVs (I saw Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Black Scorpion and Mako) only to have them despawn because some heroes took another pillbox. Then again this might not be a problem once the villains come out in force.
Well, I was playing in RV some last night, but after a while I realized that I had collected some debt!
This was a suprise to me because I had not been fighting any 3rd party mobs, except for turrets at the bases and maybe some of the pets. If the turrets or pets are giving debt, I think this should be removed.
I explored there briefly this evening. Was having trouble with my toggles, both in the zone, and after I left. As soon as I turned them on, they became permanent. They could not be turned off voluntarily, only by running out of endurance. After retoggling, they still were out of control. Tried this on both my defense toggles and travel powers. Ran both Flight and Super Speed constantly while I was in the zone. Made it impossible to use Foot Stomp.

Something that needs some attention is the spawning of Signature heroes and Avs.
When either side capture/takes control of 5 pillboxes, the oposing side gets reinforcements that join the battle.
The hero or villain will stay in the zone and help fight which is great, but if either you lose or gain another pillbox, the signature AV or hero despawns not allowing heroes or villains the chance to defeat them.
I think this should be changed to allow the chance to defeat at least one of the Signature hero or villain.
I would suggest that once either side controls 5 pill boxes, the AV/Hero stays in the zone to help their side until the time runs out. or when the zone resets.
Im sure many of you know how tough the Signature AV/Heroes are so it will still take a bout load of damage to take one down.
