  1. I agree. I too have been having fun with my human/dwarf after a long hiatus. Voids seem like wimps now but loving the changes, especially to cosmic balance.

“WHY NO EMP FOR CORR?” – ELF_STALKER

Empathy isn’t a villainous trait, generally speaking. From a fiction standpoint, it will likely never be given to Villains as a set.

Back to thematics – Empathy isn’t really a villainous trait. From a fiction standpoint, it wasn’t our first choice to port over and the reason corruptors didn’t receive it in the first place as part of the release of City of Villains. If we were to add an “Empathy Like” set, it would need to be all new and not a port of it, to make it fit into the Villainous theme. As such, that fell out of the scope of Issue 12’s powerset proliferation and is why it wasn’t included.

Well, it's not like some real-life crimminal organizations, tyrants, war crimminals, invading armies don't have doctors, nurses, medics, scientists etc working for them. Just change the name and give it to Corrs. I'm sure the Rogue Isles have their own doctors, nurses, medics, paramedics etc who would gladly serve Arachnos or other groups so any thematic reasons for not porting emp over can be easily explained awahy.
  3. Damn great job! Better than the comics. I like Benes but I don't think WW and BC are going to attack with their behinds.
  4. Nice build.

I used to have the shield but dumped it in the 30's because Crey MINIONS kept detoggling it. Stealth is good in the early levels especially if this is the player's first pb but is not required (and you can always pick up a stealth power from a pvp zone). I eventually got rid of it as well. Imho hasten is highly recommended especially if you want to do some pvp. Also acro and conserve power should be taken earlier, especially if you want to do some zone pvp. I also had the heal but dumped it cause I got sick of having to stay back and heal while others got to attack. However I am thinking on taking it back.

Actually I made a second human pb because I wanted to try out more powers and because my first pb was concept (WW instead of lf - streethunting in PI pre-WW nerf was fun). But I did try out some of the aoes, nuke, rez and want to put some of them in my second pb.

Also if you want to do some zone pvp (never tried arena) you will need at least 2 accs in your attacks. Actually pulsar should have at least 2 regardless because you don't want to miss against mezzers. And you'd be better off taking the extra slots from stealth and putting them into glinting eye.

Having a level 50 is not a sufficient condition to be an expert in the game, but I think it is a necessary condition -- and a fairly minimal one at that.

[/ QUOTE ] Having a level 50 is a necessary condition to comment meaningfully on issues that only affect level 50's. And only that.
Issues of basic logic can be commented on by someone who hasn't played the game at all.
Issues that pop up before level 33 can be commented on by someone who is level 33.

You are welcome to think otherwise, but be careful to not construe it as anything but your own preference.

Unfortunately, the person who demanded that others post their builds and tactics so that he could tell them what they were doing wrong did not say that he was going to restrict his comments to pre-level-33, or to the build that he has personal experience with. If he had, then I would not have had a problem with it. I just think it's silly, though, for a person to put themselves forth as an expert on build and tactics when they have been playing the game since 2004 and their highest char is level 33. If I were such a person, I'd be asking for advice, not presuming to offer it.

lol who was it that said Ice slick is the only good power from the ice primary?

Anyway, I've been playing my earth/rad and can see why some are disenchanted with doms. Namely, my earth/rad has powers in both the primary and secondary that can save my team. That said, my doms (at least in the early game) do well solo and on teams with my grav/psi being the weakest. With both controller and dom the primary usually enables me to significantly contribute to a team. But when you add triangles then of course the troller comes out ahead. My earth/emp does very good (probably great when I get RA) on teams but can't solo while my doms do good solo (with fire becoming great once I get the imps) and good on teams (again w/ grav being the weakest at least fmx). Hopefully I'll get a chance to play one of my uber controllers (gave up trying to lvl a cor due to lag) to further compare.

Anyway I wouldn't mind more control or damage but I'm pretty sure we won't get much at least not enough to change the minds of many anti-doms.

    Back to lvling.
  6. Most definitely. Especially in pvp. And whatever you do never team your dom with a stalker. ;p
  7. I agree. I finally got to play for a decent amount of time with a dom (mind/energy). Echoing what others have said in other threads, if I hadn't had aid self and the leaping pool it would have been ugly. Plus the villains outnumbered the heroes so I eventually switched sides. Anyway the only power that seemed to help my team on a consistent basis was TK but thanks to lag I ended up pushing the scrappers/tanks down the street instead of into a wall. Dealing w/ the heroes was bad enough but the wardens were no picnic either. I finally got the courage to attack an ice tank w/ Tk only to suddenly end up facing a longbow warden (thanks lag). If it hadn't been for aid self I would have died quick.

Also I had to keep jumping around. Sometimes I would get stunned but land far enough away that I was able to recover and escape. But getting mezzed by a scrapper!? Wow add insult to injury.
  8. Just got through playing around on test with my level 22 ice/ice dom. I had recently hit 22 and finally got an SO and some DOs plus power boost. Needless to say newspaper missions set at vicious were easy. +1 bosses produced the usual yawn fest. I did make the mistake of not keeping some victims alive so I had to go outside to build domination to take out the freak boss on my last mission.

Anyway the only strange thing I noticed was the rapid filling up of my dom bar after a vicious newspaper mssion vs skyraiders. I hit domination, hasten, power boost and took out the +1 boss and a +1 minion. Then I ran over and finished off 3 +1 minions. Mission finished so I exited. Once outside I still had domination going so I decide to attack some Family. As I fought them the domination icon starts blinking but the dom bar doesn't disappear. Shortly afterwards the hasten icon flickers and hasten ends. Still noticing that the dom bar is filled I click on it and it says that its at 98. So apparently I had re-filled the bar while it was still full???

I believe the changes will help in pve especially on teams. (For the record I have no problem on large relentless teams vs +2s). Haven't tried my doms in pvp yet. But I was in RV with my pb and it was like 100 heroes to every villain.

AFAIK the only changes the devs have done to doms (besides creating domination) has been to shorten domination's recharge. That plus the fact that Statesman was satisfied at how well his dom performed in malicious missions leads me to believe that we won't be getting anymore tweaks for awhile.

Well thats my 2 cents. Have fun testing.
  9. I had fun there and think its great. The only problem I saw (besides the laaaag of course) was that the AVs would spawn after the heroes took 5 pillboxes but would despawn if the heroes took another pillbox. So several times we were fighting AVs (I saw Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Black Scorpion and Mako) only to have them despawn because some heroes took another pillbox. Then again this might not be a problem once the villains come out in force.
  10. Don't know anything about the bar (first time pvper) but AS is assassination strike. W/it stalkers can one shot most AT's. Though they didn't seem to be much of a factor in last night's event.
FWIW according to the cov boards alot of stalkers weren't able to one shot squishes in last night's event.
  11. I had tons of fun playing my dark/dark cor. Storms (namely a storm def and a storm controller) gave me the most trouble. We had to swarm them to beat them. My first time in pvp and I had no idea about hot spots or ir goggles. I didn't even know that orange names denoted enemies so I was dumbfounded to see a hero (he was a version of a famous CoH hero) with an orange name running at me soon after I arrived in Siren's Call. If it hadn't been for an arbiter drone this noob would have been dead.

I wish I would have had time to play a blaster because some peeps kept seeking refuge on roofs. As it was I was able to help a fellow villain take down a hero on a roof. Still, with a blaster's snipe I could have littered the roofs of SC w/ dead villains.

Hope they do this again. And I for one am happy that I pre-ordered CoV, ED notwithstanding.
