Looks great Doug... but I don't feel the "focus" from Supes and WW.
Perhaps double check their head tilt?
Batman is my favorite... the entire piece is stunning. How many hours total work time? And are "you" happy with it now?

Actually, I'm not quite happy - there are issues I would like to change. But it's that "never-happy-place" that drives me forward to make the next one better.

Excellent work! It's been years since I've bought a DC comic so I don't recognize some of them. How about somebody up to speed with them naming them for us?

Green lantern really stands out first glance to me, then the eye wanders down to Wonder Woman, over to Supes, to Bats, then scans the back characters/whole thing.
Wonder Woman looks great, and something about her hair realy works well, dunno why I like it so much.
Poor Hawk Girl, she needs some curves though.
I love your work, seeing the group of Justice League members there in such great detail and composition is fun. Hawkgirl is my only regret.
/praises Dougs work..................does some weird spoon dance in honor.

Are you going to leave it as is, or do post work on it?
I'll be honest, it looks good, but is still a render. I'm not particularly "stunned" OMGWOW by it, it's impressive the work you did for the outfits and everything, but I think it could use a lot more. Still all seems very "plasticy", and unnatural looking lighting.
But if you are going to leave it as is, good work
(Sorry for not being all fan-tigerish on it! I usually love your work but I think because of all the post-production you put into things! )
Outstanding work, as always. Some of the characters really catch the eye and are perfect as is, Green Lantern especially.

Heh, there's actually quite a bit of postwork on it... from combining multiple renders (I only did 3 characters at a time), to repainting hair (Wonder Woman), to fixing lighting (green on Green Lantern), to color adjusting skin tones and costumes (Superman).
Regarding postwork in general - The purpose behind modelling the characters as accurately as possible in 3D is specifically to avoid excessive postwork such as repainting faces. If I were assigned to create a full comic, there is absolutely no way I could do an entire issue (let alone a mini-series) where I needed to repaint every face on every panel from scratch. Thus, I'm leaning towards the comptuer-generated faces and trying to perfect those likenesses.
Ahh gotcha. Yeah I am on board with that.
I dunno bout batman though. His cape looks really rubbery :P I always imagined it to be like this absolute black cloth type stuff.
You know those scientists who made that new material that is like the blackest black of any black there has ever been? It reflects only like 0.000094% of light or something?
Yeah. Kinda like that. :P
I -really- like it, Doug, but why does Superman look like some sort of buffed up Jim Carrey?

I know this isn't COH... but it *is* fan art, right?
With all the great feedback I received on the test piece a week ago, I was able to adjust the models and start getting some final renders. This is the first piece of what may be a whole series of images based on 'the big boy's' characters.
