  1. Wooooo! My first time being the first after a red name!

edit, after reading post: The Column shall rise again!
  2. Jack I sent you and Posi PMs before about this, and this is why I believe bases aren't as popular as you would like:
    I don't get to design a base.

I am just a basic member of my SG. With costumes, I get full creative control. In order to build my own base, I would have to quit my SG. You mentioned SG uniforms, but these uniforms are usually optional and only worn on certain occasions.

I would LOVE to be able to make a personal base, and I've mentioned my idea of how. (All decoration items free, you can buy bigger plots for influence.) Please, PLEASE let us make our own bases, I would spend HOURS using the base tool, but right now it's not even an option.
  3. [ QUOTE ]

It isn't the popularity of bases so much as the fact that our programming & art team did a phenomenal job of allowing players to generate their own lairs. Maybe not enough players have experienced this content to comment on it, though hopefully Posi's changes will help.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, the problem I have about the base system is that I don't get to design a base. Designing our base is left to the leaders. Sure I can give input but I don't have complete control. And you're right, the art department did a PHENOMENAL job with the base stuff, but not everyone gets to use it.

So, This is what I'm suggesting: Let each player be able to design their own base, that is seperate from the SG base. Posi said he didn't like the idea of having to shrink down items to fit an apartment, but he wouldn't HAVE to. Here's my suggestions for personal bases:

-they can ONLY have decoration items.
-all decoration items are ABSOLUTELY FREE
-all rooms that you place are ABSOLUTELY FREE
-however, you would start with a smaller plot, say it could fit 3-4 small rooms. Now, you can buy bigger plots for your personal base using influence/infamy

You would access your personal base from the base portals, but perhaps you could make a sub-menu Labeled "Personal Bases" and then when you click on it it gives you the option of entering anyone on your team's personal base. You could also have a tab for SG mates bases as well.

I know this would make a LOT of people happy... especially myself.
  4. You will be missed.

<--Changed my name in tribute of the greatest Red Name we will ever see.
  5. Heh, he's a hero.
And I realize the pose isn't very exciting. This is the first time I've ever really colored anything like this in Photoshop, so I did the drawing quick so I could get to the coloring.
  6. I don't post here often so most of you probably don't know me, but I did a picture of my main and I just wondered what kind of comments you guys might have.

Interesting. Are people actually complaining about post-50 content?

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's my problem with it. It shouldn't be a post-50 thing.

Heroes can earn the Portal Jockey Accolade (the hero equivalent to Born in Battle) by 45 through regular playing by simply completing the needed story arcs. Why should the villains have a requirement that few, if any, will earn through normal playing. A badge that most will have to do lots of afk damage farming for, and a badge that is easier for some archetypes to get and hard for others?

I really like the suggestion of the requirement being the Usurper badge. I believe the Usurper badge is supposed to (bugged I guess?) be rewarded for defeating Lord Recluse in the last mission of the last Patron story arc.

This is a great idea. It requires you to do a stroy arc, and the story arc can only be done at 45 or later. It seems like a perfect match to me.
  8. [ QUOTE ]

Really? My 42 Mastermind has the second badge and is well on her way to Unbreakable, and not because of getting killed a lot (although villain's night in RV certainly couldn't have hurt, curse you Manticore).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um, you may be confused. Unbreakable is the 4th damage badge. If you only have the second badge you still have a LONG way to go. The badge order is: Stoic (100,000), Hard Case (500,000), Ironman (1,000,000), Unbreakable (10,000,000)

And to Positron, I'm glad that I'll at least be able to get the accolade now. But it will still take a lot of afk damage farming to get it.

I still think it's a bit unfair though since the badge is obviously easier for Brutes to get. Whereas the Portal Jockey accolade can be easily obtained by ANYONE by simply completing the needed story arcs.

Anyway, I guess I'll start farming tonight so I can get the accolade when it goes live.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Unbreakable would seem a more reasonable pre-requisite to me. It still takes some effort to acquire but isn't as insane as Nigh Indestructable. Wheras Nigh Indestructable takes a good 2-3 weeks to earn if you farm it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unbreakable would even be an insane requirement. I'm a corruptor, a fire blast/radiation emission corruptor. I'm not suppose to take damage. A Brute might be able to easily get Unbreakable, but like I said I've taken less than 5 million points of damage in the entire time of leveling to 50. Ya, I hit 50 yesterday and I STILL have not taken 5 million damage. I would have to farm more than double the damage I've taken just to get the accolade? That doesn't sound fair.

It would take me 2-3 weeks just to get Unbreakable.
  10. Staple, that's not the topic.
Make your own thread if you guys want to talk about other stuff.
  11. That's it!
    *grabs shotgun*

You threadjackers get off my lawn!

DO NOT make any more posts talking about your opinions about the devs.
This thread is about getting a problem fixed. You want to debate? Take it somewhere else. It is rude to take a thread so far off the original topic.

Now, I really wish we could get a red name to comment or at least make a post saying that they have looked at this thread.
  12. Even if they meant to put the 10,000,000 one (Unbreakable), that still seems rediculous. Like I said, in the entire time of leveling my corruptor to 48, he's taken less than 5 million pts of damage. To even get Unbreakable, I would have to farm damage for multiple weeks.

And it's not like I don't get hit... I already have the 5th debt badge. I really hope this was some mistake.
  13. Ha! It would take me till 2013 even if I WAS farming the badge the entire time!
  14. What I'm asking to be changed about it, is the requirement of getting the Nigh Indestructible badge to get the accolade.

My corruptor is currently level 48, and the highest damage badge he has is the Ironman (1 million pts. of damage). My progress bar for the Unbreakable badge(10 million pts. of damage) is less than half full. Which means I've taken less than 5 million points of damage in the entire time of leveling him from 1 to 48.

In order to get the Nigh Indestructible badge, you have to take 100 million points of damage! Which means in order for me to get this accolade, I have to take more than 20 times the amount of damage I've taken in the entire time of leveling him to 48. This seems literally impossible.

If there is anything wrong with my argument, someone please correct me, because this does not seem fair.

If you agree with me please make a post so that this thread doesn't fade fast. This NEEDS to be changed.
  15. Well, I was playing in RV some last night, but after a while I realized that I had collected some debt!

This was a suprise to me because I had not been fighting any 3rd party mobs, except for turrets at the bases and maybe some of the pets. If the turrets or pets are giving debt, I think this should be removed.
  16. So, is there a transcript of the interview anywhere?!
I really want to know what was said, but I wasn't able to listen to it. Or could someone at least go over the info that was discussed?
  17. Ok, I really don't think they would make an electrical set with red effects.

Like others said, that immediately looked like the blasts that the Mu Mystics have, so I think it's a Patron Power.

The 3rd Thug henchman looks like he is going to be a super strength tanker guy. At 1:02 in the movie, I think he is the one in the lower right corner that looks like he is plunging his hands into the ground, like the beginning of the Hurl animation.
  18. New question, I'm looking for a bind or macro combination for my Warshade that will return me to human form out of both Dwarf and Nova form. So I can press one button to put me back into human form. I know I saw this somewhere before, but I can't find it now.
  19. Quick question, how do you bind a macro to a key? What's the command?
  20. [ QUOTE ]

    Statesman:

As for the supposed "emphasis" on PvP - I think you'll see that it's just ONE part of City of Villains. It has PvE content levels 1 to 50.

We'll continue to add new PvE content (which I5 did exclusively, I might add) in the future.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So... are you ready to give us any details on the Legend System yet?
  21. [ QUOTE ]

The article in question? Rudolp Augustus Seifert and the Memory of Heroes

I would guess that no one else shares this fondness--but I'm damn proud of it.

I actually liked that one a whole lot. Sure it didn't really focus on gameplay or new zones or whatever, but I thought it did a good job of fleshing out the environment, and explaining the unique style and architecture of Paragon City.

Anyway, I've never talked to ya Gil, but we'll miss your articles and good luck with your next projects.
  22. Happy Birthday you old CoH you!
  23. I can remember when they first announced the Archetype system!

    aaaah... pre-beta...
