On the highest (Invincible), a solo hero will spawn an AV. Note this works in BOTH City of Heroes and Villains.

In order to incentivize larger teams, Positron is going to add a bonus to AV rewards!

Nice changes...cudos all...the Mu'Drakhan arc was very frustrating with 4 AV/Heros almost right after each other(Infernal,Lilitu,Aurora, and Baphomet)

Thanks for this entire post, States. The AV thing in particular makes me glad, since I solo (or duo) so much, and I'm really glad to see that you've listened to those of us who didn't like the stealth nerf.

Now.... can I have my IH toggle back?

(In all seriousness, thank you for this stuff. It's definitely a step in the right direction to make lots of people feel better about the game and the developers.)

I'm sure it's NightStar, Elite Boss Version. After all, when doing a Freakshow mission with a boss on heroic (or villainous), it's still a tank, but at the rank of lieutenant.

You can arrange that in SOME of the 40-50 AV missions. Requires some work because
they don't start in the same area, but doable.

I think a fairer way might be to do a TF/SF where at the end, you fight one elite
boss for every two players or fraction thereof. Maybe play with those numbers if
that seems too easy (aoe debuffs and aoe damage can do that).

Possibly toss in the AV-level mez protection. Two holds is too easy to get on an
elite boss I think. (5-slotted single target hold: 1 acc/3 duration/1 recharge, or
2 recharge if you like...)

Might be amusing to have an early (L40) Praetorian mission with 4 of the sidekicks
in the same final room, but as elite bosses.

Now if you guys could just stop penny pinching and give the options to everybody like you know you should, everything will be fine. Especially since most of those options are neutral or even 'good' (ie lab coats, military vests, supernatural faces, star shot pattern, feather cape, etc.).

Could you (or the appropriate people) reevaluate the missions that have been given timers to (as far as we know) prevent farming those missions for powerleveling?

The aggro cap makes herding difficult or impossible. The issue 5 + ED reductions to defenses makes attempting it very deadly anyway. People who have been using those missions to farm still have the untimed versions. Some of the timed missions are in story arcs (Shadowhunter and Requiem), which introduces urgency where it may not be absolutely necessary. I think it is necessary at times - the end to World Wide Red is a lot of fun, partly because it is such a time-sensitive thing. "They're attacking the war wall RIGHT NOW!" As opposed to Requiem, who's loitering with some warwolves on a relatively dead Earth.

Just so it's clear: I really like the changes to AVs/Heroes posted.

I just dont want to accidentally miss an AV by zipping through a mission that was going to have one, had I known and gotten a giant team together or cranked up the slider- know what I mean? I've been playing awhile but not so obsessively that I actually know many AV/hero names at all, I missed almost all of them back when I played CoH (cant play that anymore since I remember how my hero *was*- no offense) and now it sounds like they will be even easier to miss during my current run through cov (I'm 28 and have seen I think, one? Half done and I've fought one, single hero, ever?)

I'd like to second that (although I'm playing CoH, not CoV)... I don't really want to miss out on the chance to fight AVs. And I'd much prefer an Elite Boss version instead of a different character replacement for when I'm soloing (which happens a lot).

Just my thoughts.
