Not once, not twice, but three times...
is this working
Dude even on relentless i can still solo elite bosses, But then again they are only red to me and I have 7 minions to take him down so. Its a bit easier. Guess they can't be over 40 or they would be purple to me. Consideing i am 38 and facing them though The missions i am currently running through start at 32 I think that would make a difference. The only one i can't seem to get by at the moment is some mission with inferno. considering he has the title of hero i am guessing he is equivilant to an arch villian. But that is only a guess. Still everyting else will more than likely succum to the fury of my mastermind. I mean i can usually take on 5 orange cons at once so taking and beating on a purple con boss has become a little more than part of the norm. Infact at the moment they are the only ones i consider any real threat to me. Still i have been soloing 90 percent of this chr's existance, But i am not so sure others will fair so well. Well see as soon as i reach 40 which will be soon.

AND now...we're changing the way Archvillains spawn. A ton of forum goers disliked adding so many AV's into missions a while back...so we've come up with a solution. If the team size and mission difficulty are ABOVE a certain level, an Archvillain spawns. Below that, players will face only an Elite Boss. If the mission is set on the first two levels of difficulty, it takes 4 heroes or more to spawn an Arch Villain. On the third level, 3 heroes or more. On the fourth level, 2 heroes. On the highest (Invincible), a solo hero will spawn an AV. Note this works in BOTH City of Heroes and Villains.
In order to incentivize larger teams, Positron is going to add a bonus to AV rewards!

Thanks
I don't mind the AV or EB alot. The only thing i mind is the repetitiveness of using the same Hero/AV. I hate seeing Inferno, and Aurora too much, show me some heroes from freedom phanlanx. The only story arc(on villains side) that has a wide variety of heroes is Crimoson, the hero hunter. Come on now, I want to see more of the big boys, and feel good about being a villain.
I like the scaleable AV, thanks
Whats being done about the constant being dropped by the server in the test room when we go into door missions. It happens to me all the time. All I can do is runn around taking 3 times as long to lvl than everyone else.
New AVs please. Lets take down the BIG BOYS.
On the hero side I want to fight lord recluse, black scorpion, ghost widow, and the rest of the gang.
On the villian side, I want YOU statesman, Posi, and the rest of the red names. EVEN Cuppajo. Thats right. Make her be master of the caffine crusiaders, a group that relies on high energy drinks to fight evil!

Two Words: Recluse's Victory
Granted, it's a PvP zone, so if you don't like that ....

I'm going to give a few suggestions for I8, since I've been horribly disappointed with I6 and now I7 for heroes.
1. Create a series of 4-5 level 50 taskforces. As a reward, allow the character to get other AT powers (actually at their level). For example:
Completion of first task force gives the level 50 empathy defender the choice of the a moderate blaster power, such as fire blast at blaster level damage (instead of the incredibly small defender secondary damage). Or, a tanker could grab something like Gambler's Cut at scrapper damage with critical hits to suppliment and build his character past level 50 (without going into the formalities of creating more levels).
You can make the character choose from a choice of 1 hand attack, 1 hold/immobilize, 1 buff/debuff, 1 ranged attack, and 1 defense power. Give them the full bonus from the archtype so that they can feel empowered and truly epic.
I don't think something that small would unbalance the game. It would just add an element of usefulness.
2. Create more SG trials and taskforces that you can bring alot of people to. For example, you could set a level 20, 30, 40, and 50 trail/tf. This would give a SG an attempt to get mass teams going to get xp and reach a common goal. Such as a 50 hour game play temporary buff of 25% reduced debt, +5% xp bonus for kills, or something of that ilk. The SG could get a badge and unlock some higher level defenses, control boosts, or an extra storage bin for enhancements and inspirations. You could possibly add things like increased perception devices (for those pesky stalkers) that give defenders an advantage in raids.
3. Give us a story for reaching level 50. As mentioned above with the above 50 taskforces/trials, we could unlock those to face 4-5 centers of unspeakable evil. Upon conquering them, we have save Paragon City from other doom and are able to live the life of a legend. You could show a picture with Statesman and all of the grand heroes (such as Positron, Manticore, etc.) and receive the exhauted one badge, for saving Paragon from utter doom. It would be a nice way to wrap up the game other than traditional badge hunts.
4. Mayhem missions for heroes. Let us go in and bust up a Superidyne lab. Or, let us break up a Malta arms making factory. Or, we can break up the Circle building a greater portal to summon demons. Let us have some fun and chaos as well.
5. Give us origin specific contacts with origin specific missions. Give us something totally unique with origins. For example, we could have origin specific temporary powers or gives xp bonuses on missions. Or, you could also give a specific origin bonuses against enemies of that origin to sweeten the pot to take your own contacts and carry out missions until completion.
Those are my huble suggestions. Heroes need some content. Thank you for listening.
That last post idea for heroes was very well thought out, but I do have one addition to it.
When I was a kid, I'd watch Superman or Batman, and notice they would be reading the paper and such. Sometimes, they would find clues to finding villains hideouts, or stopping a bank heist. Or, in some, they would have a red blinking phone from the commisioner letting them know of a new developement or attack.
Then, Along came a Spider. And COV utilized that idea with finesse. But, why should the villains only answer challenges or see opportunities to advance their cash flow? COH would be a lot more interesting if maybe instead of a paper, our "cell phones"(That we use to contact our aptly named... Contacts) could ring and we could answer the call.
I'm sure my idea is not unique, as for the fact I don't have the 90 hours needed to review all of these 82 pages of fine posting, but I thought I would put my two cents in. And in the end, no matter what changes are made, I will still be an avid fan of the game. And, will most likely take whatever the Devs decide to dish out. But, I do hope that I will be playing the game in I8 before I see Tobey Maguire in Spiderman 18: Curse of Arachnid Arthritis.
End Transmission.
Just popping in to say: thank you..
And a direct lie. The Stealth nerf went live yesterday.
Funny how every time they want a nerf - think Regen and Burn they do it anyway. Just a few months after popular support made them say - thanks to you folks we listened and did not Nerf it - then they do so anyway.
You guys really are a piece of work.
Reread what he said, here and the other thread. We made a case about why the proposed solution (when stealthed, can't click) was completely unworkable, and someone did point out suppression as a solution. Mr. Emmert said they'd remove the "can't click" and expressed interest in the suppression option.
I wish they hadn't done it, I don't think it's necessary, I think it's unfair to those who have greater risk and more time clearing opponents (like controllers and defenders) since for scrappers and tankers defeating a normal spawn IS still risk free xp. But they have not gone back on what they said they would do.
My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.

Something still needs to be done about the EBs.
Almost every story arc seems to have an EB somewhere in it -- or more than one. This is a real pain for people who are soloing. If I am soloing a story arc on Vicious with my Ice/Cold corr, then I have to change to Villainous for the last mission, because otherwise I won't be able to kill the EB. Even with the difficulty adjusted, I sometimes can't kill the EB and then I have to get a team together or wait till I level. If I get a team together then I am stuck doing several missions with them because it would be rude to dump them after one mission. Don't even ask about my dom -- I really wonder how I'm going to do story arcs solo with that toon.
One of the big attractions of CoX is that it is solo-friendly, but having an EB in almost every story arc is really calling that into question. I wouldn't mind an occasional especially hard mission in a story arc where I need a team to finish it, but it gets really old to have that be the case in almost every story arc. It's nice that they are no longer AVs for soloers, but they still need to be dialed down a bit for people on the lowest difficulty setting.
Why go to all the trouble of creating all these interesting story arcs and then put EBs in all of them, which is a huge disincentive for people to actually do them?
