A World Spawn is a spawn that takes place in the game-world, not in an instanced mission.
The Hamidon Mitochondria are an example of an Arch-villain World Spawn, and thus will not be reduced in any way by this change.

One thing I always wanted to see in an AV mission are two AV's in the same room not fighting each other but working together to fight your team. I think the added difficulty would be very nice to help spice up some AV battles. Most of the time they are over really fast with the right team on your side.
The AV change has made me happy in more ways than I can express.

I'd imagine you'll still get the badge - the person themselves are flagged for badge credit, not their 'status.'

Just to thread jack this a bit while we are taking about AV/HEROs can you look at the way the AI works for archvillians and heroes because everytime ive fought one recently they just run.
i mean the run the hell through entire maps. I mean i was scared as hell to fight infernal with 2 masterminds. since i figured hed just pull that axe out and kill us in a hit or two, and blow through our minions, but we put darkest night on him, and he RAN AWAY. just ran down the hall. occasionally using flares and fireball.
Backstreet brawler was like this too. he ran through the entire outside instanced mission using his AOE hurl on us.
Johnny sonata's soul tried to fly and run away but the super small map kept him in it.
there is really something wrong about AVs/HEROs and their ranged attacks or putting toggle powers on them. since they seem to favor running away and using them.
please please please look at it

You have just proven to me that you actually *do* care (I was really starting to wonder if you'd still cared). That is an extremely cool change. The AVs are what made me HATE ED. I now don't have anywhere NEAR the problems I had with ED and I5 defense reduction.
Ugh...I'll finally be able to solo when no one else is on

So, will the AV spawn as an Elite boss? ie a weaker version of what we used to face? Or will it be another villain in the group?
For instance, while solo on hero, will I be facing Nightstar, Elite Boss Version or a Praetorian Elite Boss?
Wow, I can actually do Tina McIntyre's first mission right off the bat! Not to mention the Praetorian War arc. And the Terra Conspiracy, Envoy of Shadows, and pretty much all of Maria Jenkins stuff. =^_^=
And for villains... well, that's a lot of Heroes and AVs that I won't worry so much about.
Um... any chance this change can be implemented before I7 comes out? This is such a good idea, I'd hate to have to wait until March (or whenever I7 comes) to see it in play. =O_O= <-- pleading kitty eyes

hrm.. will the mission text (or is it already?) specific about it being a hero class enemy or av class enmy? like it doesnt just mention their name (I wont know its an AV class) it will SAY there will be or not be one or something?
I enjoy fighting them and DONT want to miss any- so this means I will need to know when I get the mission that I must crank up my difficulty to max to get them to spawn as I dont always have a team? or they will spawn anyways as elite bosses?
I just dont want to accidentally miss an AV by zipping through a mission that was going to have one, had I known and gotten a giant team together or cranked up the slider- know what I mean? I've been playing awhile but not so obsessively that I actually know many AV/hero names at all, I missed almost all of them back when I played CoH (cant play that anymore since I remember how my hero *was*- no offense) and now it sounds like they will be even easier to miss during my current run through cov (I'm 28 and have seen I think, one? Half done and I've fought one, single hero, ever?)
