Its player propogated myth that causes this, because alot of people want you to believe its the case. Ive been on RSFs that are led by invuls and elecs, and ive seen doms not only be useful, but LEAD rsfs.
The problem is the player base saying wanting the easy way out. Thru Vengeance and Shivans and 7 corrs and what have you. None of these are remotely necessary.

its not the whole "easy way out thing" the first four missions are just basic regular missions with regular ways to complete them.
NOW then the last mission has 8 +3 heroes standing around ready to kill anything that moves because you threw a corpse at them.
Leading a LRSF is one thing since all you have to do is go and get the other people you need, and give the pitty spot to yourself. Heck you are out of your mind if you think when a LRSF starts up the team leader goes out of their way to find an invuln brute or an ice dominator or a claws stalker.
when my VG would do the LRSF every time we basically grabbed whatever toons we wanted to do it with, and got shivans, and nukes. Most of us would have vengence, and with those things we could finish it with different and unusual team members instead of desperately seeking stone brutes and certain types of corruptors. -

you can still stack vengence using an exploit. I dont tell you how but... 7 stacked vengences is something like 210% defense 100% damage buff, 80 tohit buff, and alot of mez protection.
i just made those numbers up but its around there.
one vengence is like 30% defense, 25% damage buff, 15 tohit buff, and a bit extra mez protection. -
When you do put the new tech in to prevent vengence from stacking can you also redesign the LRSF on the villian side so any half way decent combination of villian archtypes can do it instead of relying on shivans + nukes + vengence stacking.

The angle isn't bad, but the Range of that "cone" is a Joke so it almost never comes into play.

when i had a spines/da scrapper i could get at least 3 sky captains in a cone for ripper at a time. when i had a dm/fire brute with shadow maul i could get at least 3 whatever in it too. my point is with aoe attacks you can get a higher dps than a single target attack my hitting more than one person with it at a time.

Which is the exact reason why most ppl prefer Ice... Snipes are a Detriment to DPS, not a selling point.

snipes are usually used as an opener or a finisher on things that are running. i personally cant thing of any situation that anyone with access to a snipe would willingly stand in an enemy debuff field to fire off their snipe.
i personally think the reason snipes didnt get the interruptable to just damage thing was that...
if you put stalkers in a situation where its impossible to fire off their assasin strike what use are they then?
now lets put a blaster in a situation where its impossible for them to fire off their sinpe now how useful will they be?
i dont know i just kinda find snipes... useless now because of ED. when you could kill a red con minion in 1 hit with a snipe compared now where you cant kill an even with a snipe. -

Example:
Scrapper: Level 32(both attacks slotted DMG) ... Foe: level 15 charger
Impale(High DMG): 435.02 3 slotted (range:85ft + immob, -RCH, -FLY)
Ripper(High DMG): 449.79 3 slotted (KB, -SPD, -RCH)

...The Range Advantage = DPS advantage, plus Impale also recharges FASTER too...
Why does a level 8 power trump a level 26 in DPS and PvP in the same set no less?

Well I did 2 mayhem missions so far around level 8. From what i understand there are multiple side missions in each mayhem mission.
well for some reason i can only find the arson mission. where are the rest in the atlas mission? -
if you need to use burn to get a mob off of you you have already lost. there is no way healing flames will keep you alive with it only healing 32% of your life back every 35 seconds.

i always believed the 7th tiered powers in most of the power set are what make and really define a powerset.
regen: instant healing
invuln: invincibility
da: cloak of fear
ea: energy drain
well most of the time it works. FA gets... burn... pretty much its only use now is giving immobilization protection, and making enemies run and switch to ranged attacks.
sure that making them switch to range would be nice but brutes really dont have ranged attacks outside of hurl/hurl boulder. -

As far as the 25% heal vice 17% heal being a balance issue, I agree, it clearly is. Simply, it needs to be raised to the same level of every other self heal. The fact that it provides toxic resists in a click form is not sufficient enough of a boon to keep it at 17%. Dull pain by comparison provides so much more mitigation, it isn't really even a valid comparison.

almost all the self heals and dull pain powers give +res(toxic).
healing flames USED to be fiery auras disorient protection. that i think is the only reason for the base to be 17% instead of 25% except healing flames is no longer the disorient protection for FA. -

three attacks for 30 levels made me crazy. shadow maul would lock me up at times to the point i would get killed. for some reason i fought a crap load of COT too and they are resistant to negative energy. overall it just wasnt fun for me.
i remade as a fire/fire brute, and i have access to more attacks, and more real AOE attacks.
so far dark melee feels about half as effective as fire melee in putting out damage. -
before i deleted my level 32 dm/fire brute my "big aoe nuke" would be me herding up a few groups after eating a few purples.
with blazing aura + soul drain + dark consumption + consume i would kill the entire spawn. of course i would nearly die everytime i did this. sometimes i would die.
if consume had a +regen or +recovery i wouldnt mind it having a 3 minute recharge. -
both of them require a tohit check. dark consumption is like 8 feet radius and does moderate neg energy damage. consumption is 20 feet and does minor fire damage.
the problem is they are on 3 minute recharges -
more than just healing flames need to be fixed in FA. like give me a reason to take temp protection, and id like to have a useful tier9 power.

Yeah its amazing, our 4th tier PP has a 15 minute recharge! Thats basically the WORST recharge than any pet in the game. That means in a 10 min. Arena match, you'll be able to summon the pet twice. And thats only if you have 3 recharge in it.
