  1. Away from my PC, I've missed all of them :S
  2. Does Flash Arrow work the same way?
  3. It's slightly off-topic, but I would really appreciate an answer:

Does Flash Arrow work the same way? That is to say, does it auto-hit with -perception but not with the toHit debuffs? I'm about to respec my archer def and would really like to know if I can go w/o acc enhs w/o affecting my chance to hit with the debuffage.

    Thanks

    FAULTLINE!

I've always thought it would be great to be able to do a little comunity service in fault and boom. And not just during events (like the fires in SC), but whenever we have nothing better to do. After all, heroes are about more than just beating up nutjobs.
  5. Aww, NOW you tell us...just the other night my team of 7 took down Kraken (I thought they were toughened?

    Actually it already exists

Ledgesit is for hanging your feet of ledges, if you try to do it on a chair/bench your feet go through the floor, thus it isn't a 'proper sit emote'. If we had to use ledgesit while strategizing around our new table, we sure wouldn't look very confident in our plans, what with our heads hanging down and looking all sad.

With the release of Issue 7 you can strategize in the great hall around your new table

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does this mean we finally get a proper 'sit' emote?

First...I confirm that we're working on right now (as in pohsyb in the next room) to add CoV costume parts into CoH if you own both games....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now if you guys could just stop penny pinching and give the options to everybody like you know you should, everything will be fine. Especially since most of those options are neutral or even 'good' (ie lab coats, military vests, supernatural faces, star shot pattern, feather cape, etc.).

  10. Can someone post or PM the instructions or link about having the test server and cov beta not conflicting? I can't find a post here or the cov boards about how to do it. Thanks
  11. I posted this idea once before, and if the devs want something realistic and not based on PvP (that's their story and they're sticking to it) then it should work as follows: If you're stealthed, you're hard to see, period. So any single target attack towards you should suffer an acc penalty. However, whether or not you're hard to see, cone and AoE attacks should hit you simply because you're standing in their path.

This is probably hard to code. So they didn't take my suggestion, but it is realistic. Far more so than what they've come up with.

Other than for PvP purposes, stealth is now generally useless in combat. Not only does it suffer from the global defense reductions, but now half of what it does give is gone once you engage in combat. There really is no other reason to take stealth, unless you want to skip through missions, which I had assumed the devs didn't want us to do as we are skipping their precious content. So now I'm confused.

I know that I'll be respecing out of stealth on my characters that have it. Going to try the fighting pool, and maybe leaping depending on what the hero needs.

The only reason left to take the stealth pool at all is for phase shift (assuming the devs don't want us to take invis to skip through content).

I'd also like to say that these dev response threads don't work if they don't respond and give us feedback. Yes, States explained that he was away for personal reasons, but he's not the only one working there. When a patch goes up that changes one of these powers, the thread should be 'reset' so we can post about the changes. I know it really isn't any of our business, but it would be nice if devs (like cuppa did) let us know that they will not be posting between such and such dates. So that we don't keep coming back to dev digest day after day seeing nothing new.

And one final thing. Many of these posts are about things like defense numbers (most notibly in the ice tanker thread) and such. If the devs are willing to give up the numbers, why not let them be publicly available? I know they wanted this game to be easy to get into leaving all the numbers 'behind the scenes', but with so many changes happening so often, it would be nice to know exactly what is going on. For the most part we already have access to the numbers from all the hero planners around, but they can be innacurate or unknown to those that don't look through the boards here. The official stats should be available to everyone.

*exhale* Who knows when a response will be made to reset this, I needed to get my money's worth.
  12. First, I hope the 'giantness' of the new badges is a bug, they're just ridiculous.

Could the badges be put into some logical order maybe? Gearsmasher and clockstopper aren't next to each other, and the list isn't in alphabetical order, doesn't make any sense. Pick some sort of order and fix the list. It's very messy as is.

Also (though I'm sure it will be), I hope the new TF badges are retroactive and those that have already completed the task forces will recieve the badges. I don't want to have to do all of the Shard TFs again for my 2 50s.
  13. cus·tom·ize:To make or alter to individual or personal specifications

I was working through the Croatoa missions with my AR/dev blaster (lvl34). A mission came up where I only had to find the glowies to recieve the clue and move on in the story. I turned on cloaking device and SS and made my way through. When I got to the room with the final 2 glowies, I started getting attacked. Though it totally caught me off guard, I did my best to set myself up for a fight. Sure enough, it was a wave of attacks. They kept coming and coming. I ended up using almost all of my inspirations and still just barely survived in the end. It looks like the days of the alternate mission completion objectives are over.

As a casual player, I enjoyed being able to get through some missions without having to fight (especially with my mind/emp). Mission customization should mean that we have the option to alter our missions. As is, this isn't mission customization at all, it's just mission enhancement. I propose that either waves are removed from the heroic setting, or include a new setting apart, but similar to heroic, or something else entirely.

As for the hostage escort missions: snoooring...oops, that's what I was doing, I meant it was boooring. Couldn't they at least sprint? I mean, they are trying to get away from the bad guys...or are they? I loved when I saved them and they just turned back and headed towards the villains again. Assuming that's a bug, they really do need a speed boost. I was able to outrun them eithout even sprint turned on (I don't even have Swift).

The heroes that fight along your side seem smart enough, if not also incredibly slow (especially since these are heroes). It would be nice if they showed up in the team window somehow. I know controllers have always asked for their pets to appear in the team window, maybe add something new for pets and allied heroes.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    Agreed.

We should try NEVER to change a power because of PvP alone (BTW, this is what I've always promised). The changes now aren't solely because of PvP - there's signifcant PvE issues, too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can say that (and I'm not saying you're lying), but how do we know you're telling the truth for sure? Maybe you should tell us what you're looking at 'internally' before you make any changes on test. You don't have to tell us exactly what you're proposing to change, but mention in general what 'problems' you're seeing in the PvE game.

As for the SS/SJ changes, I don't see why you can't just increase the endurance usage of those powers. I know before the change to Quantum Flight I tried turning on and off Flight and Quantum Flight in succession, and though neither power was on for more than half a second, my end was being drained like crazy. I say increase the overall end/second and add a large end cost when activating/deactivating these powers.
  15. Uh, I'm quite sure that isn't how the arena will work. First of all, when you want to start up a 'fight', the arena will create an instance of a map (which I assume can be anything from a Lab to an outdoor city scene*), and not that the combatants would be 'in the arena'. Secondly, there won't be people sitting in bleachers watching 'the match' because it's not really an 'arena' that you're fighting in, it's an instance of some other map. They did mention the possibility of becoming a (destructable) camera-bot or something similar if that doesn't pan out. So although I agree that having a HUGE TV outside the arena would be cool, the only way I can see it happening at all is if there was a tournament and they displayed the main event for all to see. Even then though, you can gaurantee there would be a ton of lag in the area.

*I say this because if you check in the Screenshots section, there's actually shots of PvP

    Anywho...YAY Arena's coming!!!
  16. I'd like the trays to be like the other windows, with the little blue dot that lets you move it around. That way if we only have a few extra powers and don't need a whole extra tray, we can just make a mini tray and place it somewhere on the screen.
  17. Yeah this is definately a fantastic idea. If the bosses become Lt's I guess that means less xp, which is great for me because somehow I've run into having too much content in this game. I've done all the story arcs with my mind/emp and TFs, totally skipped the Hollows and haven't done anyone else's missions and I'm still having problems fitting everything in. Making bosses Lt's will be great, especially for the 'weaker' ATs. And of course there's always that difficulty slider which will keep everyone happy. Oh and btw, thanks for changing 'Hard Boiled' to 'Hero', I kept getting terrible visions of pickled eggs for some reason. Keep up the great work guys and I'll keep coming back even if it does cost $22.50 Canadian per month.
