Something for smaller groups

My (futile) attempt to standardize the various terms of SG sizes:

So let's try categories again

Very Small 1-9
Small 10-25
Medium 26-40
Large 41-60
Very large 61-75

This is based on /players/ not toons.

Have the salvage also make temp powers you can use outside the base would be a good start (like say..5 charges or whatever)

Thank you, sir!

This is the best news I've had today. How about a cheap way to make some of the basic equipment (basic generator, computer, etc) using the salvage so that we can afford to get started sooner rather than later?

Whatever you do, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. Thanks again!

Right now a lot of posts have talked about the high Prestige cost of Base items - and that they're bringing in a ton of Salvage but can't really do anything about it.

Bases, as they currently stand, really focus on mid and large sized groups earning Prestige - so the complaints have a good point. We're trying to work something out so that a smaller group can get something useful quickly - and also put Salvage to use! Can't promise a timeline, but we are working on it.

Thank you. Now maybe the whining will stop.....yeah right.

well... if it wasnt for the "whining" they would never have known there were issues and taken some action

Lol. Point taken.

Hmmm... sounds like small SGs can get the SG Base Junior, furnished and equipped by Fisher Price.

My prediction on this.

Sell Salvage, gain prestige.

Works like selling Enhancements to gain Influence.

Those can also be traded or crafted from Salvage.

Seems to be me that some sort of easy system that would allow folks to trade and sell Salvage and allow the big SGs/VGs with all the work tables to sell and maufacture items for Hideouts would be a Very Good Thing (tm). Especialy, if the items crafted could be customized in color or shape to some degree.

This also would give folks a reason to visit other SG/VG hideouts where they can "show off" their cool bases.

Seems to me that just having a base with some walls and decorations should be a very minimial cost, and only when you want to start adding bell's and whistles should the costs start to escalate IMHO.

Just need a way to warehouse items, a visitor to base system, and some automated merchant system ideally (where folks could pay in influence or prestige). Rest should take care of itself.

i think this makes a certain amount of sense, at least as much sense as selling enhancements. Salvage drops a lot less frequently than enhancements or the inf you get, so i don't see it as being that unbalancing. (Depending on the selling ratio.) AND it would give me something to do with all those magic salvage bits i've been getting that are useless in our tech-based base.

My personal opinion is that a SG cap at 75 is ridiculous. I have heard of such a thing in any comic book. 75 that not a group that a small business.

If SG's were designed around 12 members and capped at 30 a SG of 5 or 6 would not find themselves so far behind.

You may not have noticed this yet, but tech salvage is much more common than magic salvage.

Trade your magic salvage to a magic based SG for Tech salvage.

My 2 person SG (Bork Bork Bork) in CoV on Liberty almost has enough prestige to buy a mainframe (or the arcane equivilant) for the control room. Got the Power room & generator as well. Then we can start to think about worktables & teleporters & hospital. I figure with the current system it will take 3-4 months to get enough prestige to get some sort of a small yet useable base put together.

So I guess I'm saying: wOOt! Something for the little guys. Can't wait to hear more about it.

Please I beg you to hurry on this! My SG is a themed one which some players aren't interested in. This makes it kinda small. Not only is it small but most of my members have been playng CoV a lot and the base is still rather sucky. For those of us that are still going towards our first level 50 in the game there's just not enough prestige to build with since we need the influence.

Hey Mr. Man,

As a leader of a two small SGs I just want to say THANKS It's hard to run a small SG with your friends, then try to get a decent base where I can actaully install a working basic workshop AFTER I get a basic generator (25000) and computer (150000), AFTER I pay for the rooms to put all the stuff in. Right now it's pretty expensive - I may need a bsuiness loan, or invite complete strangers that may end up screwing me over if I invite poorly

It was a little different in COV beta because we had a TON of Prestige to burn (I was rolling Prestige up and smoking it, I had so much), but in Live I'm checking the couch for coins.

So IMHO, at least let me make a base where I can start crafting. At least, if I so choose, I can build items to sell and get more Prestige for stuff I want. Right now I can't even build a toaster

Ideas:
<ul type="square">[*] Change the "grading scale" of base items (decrease the cost of basic items/ rooms/ plots by a lot, mid-class items/ rooms/ plots by a little, and leave high-end/ rooms/ plots items unchanged).
[*] Make new lower-end items so we can do basid stuff (lower-end workshops, gennies, rooms, etc.).
[*] Re-examine Prestige earning vs. base item costs. (Don't know if there's a reason why Prestige earning for lvl 1 is the same as lvl 50, but I'm sure there is a reason.)[/list]
Thanks again for looking out for us little guys - anything you can come up with is better than nothing.
