anychance we can get a date on when its going to hit test
[/ QUOTE ]
I have been wondering the same thing for a while now myself. -

Speaking of Arbiter Leery, did he ever get fixed?
(for those not in-the-know, he only gives you missions if you have the first Respec badge and have not used your respec. Once you use it, he ignores you.)
[/ QUOTE ]
I am pretty sure he got fixed recently. If it's not on test, it will be soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not 100% sure how he is supposed to work, but on test I had earned and used both respecs and he gave me missions. -
[ QUOTE ]
Arbiter Leery .......35-40......Thorn Robber (2)................-1739, 157, 3153 in Nerva
+ Needs confirmation: need to do both Respec Trials and choose the respec reward for the Thorn Robber badges (and not a SO reward)
+ Face Indigo, a Hero in a timed mission
[/ QUOTE ]
It appears to me that this contact is fixed on test. Here's what I did/know:
On live I had earned and used the 1st respec. I talked to Arbiter Leery and he told me to come back later. Still on live I earned and used the 2nd repec. I copied my toon over to the test server to test some things out and decided to see if he would give me missions, and he did!!! I then switched back over to the live servers and went to talk to him there and he was still saying to go do the 2 repec trials and talk to him later.
So my guess/hope is once the current patch that is on test hits live, Arbiter Leery will be working for everyone properly. -

I'm not too pleased about the idea of them buffing the bosses accuracy in a way that will decrease for the defense set, but the other majority of sets will only be getting hit by bossess more often now.
Just what we need, more hits without the defense to withstand it.
Bummer
[/ QUOTE ]
I could be wrong, and someone else coulda posted this, but the way I understand the proposed change is that players without any +DEF will not see any difference with this change. They will still get hit just as often as before. It only affects players with +DEF powers. -
This is truely good news. No, actually great news. But it really does need some more explanation as to the specifics of how it is going to be accomplished. ***Sentence deleted due to Statesman stateting differently in a different post***
Also, I hope there is plenty of time to test these changes as a change like this could easily (in my uninformed opinion) introduce new broken code that was previously working. I could be wrong, I'm not a programmer, but it needs tested greatly. I wholeheartedly volunteer my ice/fire tank's time to test this out once it hits test. -
Severs are coming down for "maintenance" in about 5 minutes. So hopefully it won't take long to get back up so we can begin this new event.

Question.
The story arcs that give you a badge. In order to get the badge does the entire team have to be there for every mission in the story arc or just the one that the get the badge at the end of?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm asuming it's the same as it is in CoH, and you (or the rest of the team) only need to be present for the mission that actually gives the badge to receive it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Want a way to get the bone daddy badge without having to go with a lowbie? pick up psymon omega and build up to his mission to defeat his phobias, go inside, and kill all the bone daddy figments, they count, and spawn roughly 4-6 bone daddys a mission. Just make sure you leave and swap with a newspaper mission or something tell you have the badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
What level range is this? -
[ QUOTE ]
I should also mention that even though Doc Buzzsaw is listed as 25-30, I'm assuming that should really be 25-29 as most leveling ranges are figured.
If someone should get Bling at level 30, please see if you can get Doc Buzzsaw to give you a mission, to check this out.
[/ QUOTE ]I got Bling at about level 29.95, and I dinged 30 while I was still in the same mission. So by the time I actually talked to Doc Buzzsaw I was level 30.1(ish). And he is gave a misison. I've haven't completed it yet, but I did go in and the mobs were my level (set on default difficulty)
[ QUOTE ]
I didnt get Bling until 31, but I've had SG mode on constantly since level 10. It seems the only way possible to get it before 30 is to either take off SG at 25 as suggested, or do a ton of RSK.
[/ QUOTE ]I didn't switch off SG mode untill around level 27-28. I did do some fighitng in Bloody Bay after lvl 28 so I was exemplared down, but I wouldn't say I did a lot of that. I'm guessing that if I had turned off SG mode at 25, I would have earned the badge without any of the RSK'ing I did do. -

Is there a trick to the Electrician badge? I've defeated about 130 gremlins including Deathsurge and still don't have the badge.
[/ QUOTE ]The day I decided to get this badge, I counted 119 gremlins defeated and Deathsurge before I got this badge. I had killed a few before that day, but I would have thought 10 at most which puts me right around your total. So I don't know why you don't have it yet. =/ -
I haven't seen any info on the Hammerhead badge in this thread yet. In this thread there is a little talk about it as well as Goon Squad (which I've read somewhere is bugged). The important part regarding the Hammerhead badge is this:
[ QUOTE ]
Hammerhead is only 100 Scrapyarders, but they MUST be from the groups that follow Ghost of Scrapyard around. They're considered "special" Scrapyarders or something. There is also a Strike Buster badge for beating 100 regular Scrapyarders (which is in turn different from the Strikebuster mission badge).
[/ QUOTE ]
I just got the badge today. I can't verify the number, but I can confirm that it was the "special" scrappyarders that follow Ghost of Scrapyarder around, also the ones that will run for a door once Ghost of Scrapyarder is no longer around. I was wuppin' up on some of 'em for the fun of it, and after a bit I was badged (as was my teammate). -
My 2 person SG (Bork Bork Bork) in CoV on Liberty almost has enough prestige to buy a mainframe (or the arcane equivilant) for the control room. Got the Power room & generator as well. Then we can start to think about worktables & teleporters & hospital. I figure with the current system it will take 3-4 months to get enough prestige to get some sort of a small yet useable base put together.
So I guess I'm saying: wOOt! Something for the little guys. Can't wait to hear more about it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Tarxius is definitely Lore Keeper. I did his missions at 25, no Weed Whacker, just Lore Keeper.
[/ QUOTE ]
This goes for me any my wife as well. Definately no Weed Whacker badge, but we do have Lore Keeper. And we both did his missions without any issues. I think we were level 25-26. -
I wasn't able to keep an accurate count either. I was on a team of 3 people hunting them. It did speed it up not fighting each other for the kills.

Another Badge Confirmation:
Electrician- Defeat 100 Gremlins in C.A.D.
This also unlocks the "Gremlin" Gladiator Badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not 100. I've just killed about 109 and still no badge
[edit]
I counted 119 Gremlin's killed today before I got the badge. I know I killed at least 1 maybe 2 before today. But 120 seems like an odd number needed for a kill badge.

Watch your combat tab.
When you activate a power, you get a "activating<power name>" message. Then there is a message that either "<power name> missed" or <You hit with <power name> for xxx.xx amount of damage".
With this bug, you get no message after the activating message. You activated the power. The game used your endurance and you performed the animation, and the power needs to recharge. But the game never even checked to see if you hit or miss.
So it's not a "miss" per say. And if you count your hits vs. your misses, you wont see the problem. Think of it as failed activations of cone attacks.
Sorta like a Shaq shooting a free throw. If the ball hits the floor having passed through the hoop, it's a hit. If the ball hits the floor having NOT passed through the hoop, it's a miss. If the ball disapeers in mid-air, then you have this bug.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, now this I was able to fully understand, thank you. The subject is a bit missleading IMHO. -
[ QUOTE ]
Am I missing something, I hit with shadow maul fairly often.
Is it just ranged cone attacks, exclusive to certain ATs or heroes?
[/ QUOTE ]
I am in the same boat here. I hid with Shadow Maul plenty. I've also seen my wife hit with her ranged cone attack. I have never seen cone attacks always miss yet in all my gaming sessions. -
[ QUOTE ]
AFAIK The Brute Version of Taunt is NOT autohit. at least, I missed in beta with it at least 5 times or so before I respec'd out of it.
BUT, I do remember something about PVP Brute Taunt not being autohit, so that's why you'd put the acc in Taunt. For MOST Brute powers, think of what the effects are for a scrapper. Attack powers do have taunts, but GENERALLY only if they hit (blazing aura for example).
[/ QUOTE ]
I just logged in to double check before I posted this. Brute's taunt IS auto it. It doesn't even accept +ACC enhancements. You just have to deal with the max number of targets since it is an AoE power. (I forget the exact number) I knew I had never missed with it yet. -
My wife and I play together. We've only made 1 "set" of heroes that match each other. The we play together with all the rest, but only the one set is a "couple"

Newspapers? For heroes?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see the newspaper working quite so well for us...
'I see in the paper that the bank was robbed yesterday. If only I'd been there in time to do something about it.'
Nah, a police radio or something of that ilk is a much better idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
He said Newspaper Technology. That doesn't necessarly mean actually using the newspaper. It could just as easily be a police radio, which is what I would prefer for the heroes. -
If these changes to WI & EA go live as is, I don't know if I'm going to bother with my Ice tank anymore. I might be able to survive for a while as long as I can avoid any missions that have fire damage mob's. But I don't see it being even close to fun anymore. I couldn't have fun with him on Live today because I knew what was in store for him. If I don't retire my tank I'll at least get back several slots to put to better use elsewhere since it will be pointless to add any to WE or EA anymore. (EA is still possibly useful, I haven't fully made up my mind on it yet) That might make me survivable as long as I stick to my Wife's scrapper's hip so she can kill everything for me quickly. But then she isn't going to be much help either since she's a regen scrapper and IH has had the crap kicked out of it.
Unfortunately these changes might be perfectly in line with the addition of "Sonic Resonance" With the ability to get +RES added on these changes aren't quite as bad. I'm sure there will be plenty of the new Power Set's out there once I5 goes live, but it won't always be possible to get a Sonic buffer/debuffer on your team. Are Ice tanks just supposed to sit around the train station waiting for one to log on that is willing to team with us? Again, that is far from fun.
We are the +DEF tanks. We should have the highest defence percentage avaliable (with out assistance, that is) And that is to everything (except Psi I guess), not just 4 damage types. I just can't agree with most of these changes even knowing and factoring in what I said in my 2nd paragraph. CoH is fun as is. Find other ways to stop herding. Finally realize 3 minions = 1 heroe isn't what the paying public wants.
There are many good ideas in this and other threads for Ice tanks. Please take them into consideration. (I really like Tanks getting an enherant +DEF and/or +RES that rises with level.) -
Gratz on the promotion, and good luck with Lineage II
And of course - Thanks for all your work with CoH.
You'll be missed. -
That was so incredibly awesome!!!!
Great work. It made my day even though it wasn't made for me. -
Very nice guide. I stumbled upon this thread while searching for something else, but I'm very glad I took the time to read this post. I've always wanted to have my tanker say random "taunting" phrases when he uses taunt, but I didn't want to use the method I read about in the "Wholly Unofficial and Fairly Incomplete guide to /BIND". It seemed like to much work for me to bother with. But this method made it so easy to do. (although I did mostly use the post by MrNoj more than the original. It looked easier for me to modify for my own purpose then the one the Mod posted.) But any way, thanks for this, I really like it.
