  1. Stonefoot can retire an incarnate! Thanks to a great group I was able to unlock my alpha slots. Thank you everyone that helped. I know you didn't have to do the whole story line with me. I don't remember everyone, but you know who you are.

Hopefully, I can log on tonight and continue the epic final days.
  2. Hey Liberty!

I decided to re-sub for at least one month to check out everything. It's probably been 5+ years since I had an active subscription. I recognized a few names in the forums. I'm not sure if I left a memorable legacy--probably not. Anyways, if you have time to show an old-timer a good time, look me up.
  3. Does this mean the "Nerfs O' Doom" will get rolled back (i.e. tank nerfs, ED, limiting the number of pets, etc...)? You could attract back a lot of players that left because of them.

I know it will never happen, but I gotta ask.
  4. Can I have some of what you're smoking? CoH is hard in high levels, never getting out of debt? Let me guess, you play a blaster on invincible that solos all the time?

CoX is way easier than WoW.

    THAT LOOKS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!1!!1

    Vengeance

My VG does a run quite regularly. The only requirements we have are a stone brute and 2 kins. We don't use shivans or nukes.

We do have a lot of corrupters in our group but we've done it with a couple stalkers and a dom on the team.

And yes, we are always sucessful. It usually takes us 2-2.5 hours to finish, but we do finish.

Wait, what?!? There are things to kill in this game besides Family mobsters and other players?

    This is a game?

For the PvE folks reading this, no, Vengeance is not meant to stack in PvE, either and the change, when it happens, will apply in those encounters as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's about time a PvE group got nerfed--take that Nemesis!

Now if you could fix the illusionists attacking while phase shifted...

    Thanks Castle!
  9. Last night when I was taunting a green, it ignored me when I was on the ground. But when I flew up right next to it, it kept hitting me with it's attack. I also noticed it shooting another attack at whatever the linked attack target was.

I guess it makes sense that the greens have 2 attacks like all the other mitos and Hami.

edit: Has anyone noted any -regen on Hami's attacks? My dull pain usually heals me for 1000+ hps, but last night when everything was clear except Hami (towards the end of his health) I hit DP and only healed for 200 points.
  10. I hope you don't mind Grumble. I took the numbers a little further. (grr, why couldn't they give us table options):

    SO
    1st 33.3
    2nd 66.7
    3rd 95
    4th 100
    5th 105
    6th 110

    IO
    1st 42.4
    2nd 83.3
    3rd 99.1
    4th 105.5
    5th 111.9
    6th 118.2

    difference between IO and SO
    1st 9.1
    2nd16.6
    3rd 4.1
    4th 5.5
    5th 6.9
    6th 8.2

Pretty much what we knew already, single and double slots will benefit the most by being replaced with IOs. Something that I found interesting, not that it makes much difference, is 6 slotting IOs is pretty much equivalent to adding a TO to that power that is not affected by ED when compared to 6 SOs. Again, just a trivial fact that I found interesting.

    difference 1+xSO vs. xIO
    2 SO vs. 1 IO: 24.3
    3 SO vs. 2 IO: 11.7
    4 SO vs. 3 IO: 0.9
    5 SO vs. 4 IO: -0.5
    6 SO vs. 5 IO: -1.9

This list shows the relationship between having a number of IOs and 1 + that number of SOs. As you can see, 3 IOs are almost equivalent to 4 SOs. If you were looking for a reason to justify slotting 3 IOs, this might help your thought processes Interesting to note, 4 and more IOs become better than 5 and more SOs. If you wanted to extrapolate the data, you could almost say 6 IOs would be better than a 7th slot of SOs.

Min/maxers might find this data to be interesting especially with slotting more than 3 IOs the same type. Again, there isn't much improvement, but that equivalent of a TO for a pvper might be the advantage they need to beat his/her next opponent.
  11. So, setting up a healing umbrella, keeping everyone buffed to the gills, and keep attacking Hami until dead while 54 mitos are firing at you would be futile.

edit: just out of curoisity, did anyone look at the combat logs right after the mitos spawned for any changes in damage?
  12. I still haven't seen anything on the mitos that respawn. Do they respawn at a decreased hp when compared to the original 18? And do they do the same amount of damage as the originals?

    Drops II

Instead of story arcs, what about using sucessfully completed mayhem/safeguard missions?

Those can be accessed at any level, and if you team with lower levels, you can complete the lower level mayhems/safeguards.

    Drops II

Blech, I'm not reading thru 8 pages (currently) of posts to see if someone has already suggested what I am suggesting. Sorry if it's a duplicate idea that's already been thrown out.

    [ QUOTE ]
Now I hear you guys... you all seem to dislike the Story Arc aspect of this system. I've had some discussions with the team yesterday about what we could do instead, and still keep the flavor of the four pool system, because having the extra three pools allows us to not only reward risk/reward, but time/reward as well. Takes longer to do a Task Force? Here's a nice bonus you can't get anywhere else. Finish the Respec trial, but already have all your Respecs? Here's a nice reward that carries with it some good inherent value.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What if the recipe reward was tied to the souvenir that you received for the story arc? When I9 goes live, a hero/villain will receive a random rare recipe of an appropriate type and level for each souvenir that that hero/villain has of the story arcs he/she has completed. Kind of like all the badges everyone received when I3 went live. Or better yet, like all the gladiators that were rewarded when I5 (I think that was the issue that introduced them) went live.
  15. I have been trying to get the demo the MasterMarbles had posted to work for over an hour now. I have been using Zloth's Demo Launcher to launch the demo. But every single time I try to launch CoH crashes about 1/4 way thru loading and brings up the crash box.

Has something changed in I8 to cause the demos to not work anymore? I deleted out all the info on Mister Marbles in the demo after seeing the post about costume changes, but that didn't help. Anyone have any suggestions?

edit: I tried Galaxy City and it launched ok (I couldn't see anyone though--I'm assuming they are in the hill). There is something with using Atlas Park's map that crashes my program.

edit again: I finally got it to play in Galaxy and Peregrine. Something seems to be wrong with Atlas and Kings Row. Both of those zones ended up crashing for me.
  16. When we ran ours last night, we had 2 kin, 1 stone, 1 dark MM, 1 inv brute, sonic (?), and rad (?) corrupters. I'm not about the last 2. I would say it was a variation of the optimal team.

And beating up Ms. Liberty at the end was a fun surprise. since it is a bug, can I get the bug hunter badge for it?
  17. Well, with the level drop to 53 for the heroes we are in the process of attempting it. But our vetern stone brute keeps dropping like a fly. He's baffled, and the rest of us are baffled too. Anyone else experiencing problems with the final mission?

edit: Nevermind, third time was the charm. We defeated all including Ms. Liberty a 2nd time.

This may have been covered already, but any idea when the Hero side version of the LR TF will be implemented instead of the Hami hunt? I8 maybe?

This is a feature of I9

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does that mean Hami is going bye-bye or will this be a second option to earn a HO?

    * Choice table for Lord Recluse's Strike Force. - Upon completion of the mission, you will get a choice table, instead of the Enhancements simply being put into your tray (and if your tray is full, put into oblivion). You will NOT be able to pick the specific Synthetic Hami-O, but you will be able to choose a +3 level SO instead of the random SHOE if you want.

Yes this means that the Freedom Phalanx will drop SO's again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you! I am very glad you are putting back the reward for the risk.

And if everyone is "awake" enough to clear a spot before choosing their reward, this should solve the "I didn't get a SHO" whining.

Maybe you can add, "Please make sure you clear a spot in your tray before choosing your reward" text to the choice table?

    Thank you again for listening.

Now, if you could fix the delay in the train stations

edit: And grats on post #1000 Posi!

    Top Issues 8.10

    [ QUOTE ]
How about getting NCSoft to push ATI for a fix for the FSAA/Bloom-DoF-HighWater issue? Or pushing a fix with a recode from Cryptic? Since overall game performance has suffered over the last few issues, perhaps it's time to step back and look for different ways to code the graphics so that neither breaking FSAA nor reducing everyone in CoV to below 30FPS occurs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have to agree with this. Several members in one of my SGs I belong to are quite peeved about the lackluster performance of the last couple issues. I know quite a few people who have left the game (whether it be temproary or permanent) because of performance issues.

You talked about focusing on customer retention yesterday on w00t radio. Performance-related issues has to be near the top of your list to obtain this goal! Please, focus more on fixing the bugs that have crept in to the game over the last couple of issues.

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Debt in PvP Zones. Currently we "Pro-Rate" debt depending on how much damage you took from NPCs vs. PCs. When this is fixed we will zero out any debt if the killing blow comes from PCs, and Pro-Rate debt if the killing blow comes from NPCs.

    * Salvage disappearing from storage objects. If you click too fast, some salvage may get lost in the transaction when pulling from a Storage Object. This is a high priority bug to fix.

    * Back Alley Brawler gives debt in Recluse's Victory. Yeah, he was not set up as "debt free". Sorry.

    * Ability to drop missions. Coming soon!(TM) I know this will make a lot of players happy that they don't need to contact Customer Service just to continue thier story arcs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry, but I find these to be quite trivial compared to the problems listed in the posts above mine. The constant lag in Grandville, waiting 30 seconds for the train doors to close at the train station before you're able to click for a destination, the constant reiteration that, "Hami-O drops aren't broken" when yesterday's test server patch states there is now a correction to fix this (if you want to really improve retention of players, stop telling us there is no problem when there *is* a problem). If it wasn't for the players that I regularly play with, I too probably would have left the game shortly after I7.

I have faith in you folks to fix these issues, but please be more straight-forward with us players. Don't try to hide things.
  21. I don't think the guide has lost credibility. After reading it last night, our brute with energy armor and the invis power it has was able to pull Numina with Synapse with one of her ranged attacks. We did the tp thing defeated both then went back for Posi. She was able to pull him with Citadel (I think it was Citadel that came) and we defeated them. Finally, she was able to pull Sister Psyche and BAB came with her and we defeated them. After that we rushed Manticore and I kept States occupied and we were able to defeat them.

Thanks for the clarification of the pulling.
  22. How about making the end hero one that you have on your account for that server (provided you have CoH--otherwise random)?

I'm sure this would take a ton of programming so I'm expecting a "no" response, but it would sure be awesome! Granitefist vs. Stonefoot; brother vs. brother--man I should have set up CoV on a seperate account from CoH
  23. I played my first mayhem mission last night with my level 40 brute on relentless. IT ROCKED!

Lot's of fun! Just smashing everything is site is a great thrill. Even targetting the citizens and doing foot stomp was great as they flew thru the air. The Crey Tank bosses were very challenging--especially when the Longbow ambushes would find you half way thru the fight. The side missions were fun too. The only complaint I have about them is I would like to see their location disappear off my map once I completed them. It was kind of hard to tell which one I had a key to, and which ones I had finished.

The fire tank hero in the bank defeated me once, but when I broke out of jail I had a device corrupter pet follow me around and we made short work of the hero the 2nd time.

Overall, this is the funnest new thing I have tried so far in I7. Now if I could only gain access to my villain again...
