RSF changes in I8????

Well, with the level drop to 53 for the heroes we are in the process of attempting it. But our vetern stone brute keeps dropping like a fly. He's baffled, and the rest of us are baffled too. Anyone else experiencing problems with the final mission?

edit: Nevermind, third time was the charm. We defeated all including Ms. Liberty a 2nd time.

Whats up with Ms Liberty rezzing in the final mission now?

Kinda threw us for a minute when we ran it last night.

Me and my team were facing some of the same problems on our run last night.

We tried to pull on first attempt to play it safe but that did not work.. All got aggroed and we reset for the same thing to happen on next attempt.

We stacked 3 vengs and charged in with a stoner wipe shortly after. We scratched our heads for a minute wondering what the "bleep" just happened. A quick note: Everyone on team is what you can call a RSF vet. So we stocked up on purples again, charged again and took out Numina before another wipe. Repeated with Sis and then Manti.

After that Posi went out alot easier than normal i would have to say, followed by Cit, BaB, Syn then States. Again States went out alot faster than normal. During the fight we noticed Miss Liberty got up a few times but never attacked us or anything but i noticed we could attack her so we had a field day taking her out again.

Some of the things i did notice with my sber on the run is i was getting held alot more than normal.. scratch that... i never gotten held in the RSF before last night.

Our stoner was having problems too. I'm not quite sure exactly what it was, but he was talking about dropping out of granite or something. We ended up not using vengeance or nukes, and it worked out really well. We did have 2 or 3 shivans.

We single pulled Numina, then we loaded our stoner up on purples and gave him his very own healer/buffer. Once he got everyone's aggro, the rest of us dragged Sister away and beat the snot out of her. Then we did the same for Posi. After that, it was harder to pull anyone away from our brute, so we rushed and took out Cit. At this point Manti was by his lonesome with a thumb in his butt, so we took him out too. Babs fell sometime in there too, and really, after killing Sister and working out a system, it was pretty sweet.

The best part was when we realized Liberty could be attacked. We celebrated by stomping her, and I even got to use my new temp power on her.

There is a bug with Granite Armor that makes it seem that it has dropped but defence of stoner is not effected.

Quick update:

Ms. Liberty getting Rezzed in the final battle is a bug and will be fixed.

We ran into something very similar. Our stone brute has run it so many times he's pretty much fully slotted with 50++ on most everything.

For some reason, he was killed 3 times in the final battle with the Heroes (at level 53) and it was an extreme rarity for him to even die once when the heroes were 54.

It could be just a case of extreme bad luck but it appears several people have had the same luck.

When I first did the RSF, and saw that cut scene by Statesman (The character, not the Dev), my first thought was....
Ohhhh now we did it, he is peeved, this is going to hurt!

As another poster said, there is a bug in Granite that can make it appear as if it has dropped.

If your /stone believed Granite to have dropped, he might have attempted to re-activate it (or activate Rock Armor since Granite "might still be recharging") which would, in fact, have dropped Granite.

What happens next is brutally obvious...

So is there any kind of consensus on the impact of the level change? Can Team SubOptimal now skip the pets and missiles? Has anyone run it with Team Optimal? Protea, you have any opinions on it yet? I haven't gotten to run it with the new levels, but I'm hoping the challenge is still very much there.

When we ran ours last night, we had 2 kin, 1 stone, 1 dark MM, 1 inv brute, sonic (?), and rad (?) corrupters. I'm not about the last 2. I would say it was a variation of the optimal team.

And beating up Ms. Liberty at the end was a fun surprise. since it is a bug, can I get the bug hunter badge for it?

I'm not in a position to test it, but I don't see how dropping the levels by 1 will change the necessary tactics, especially if the non-standard codes for the Hero behavior are still in effect. It seems like it should just make the optimal teams able to beat it a bit faster is all.


Dominators don't need mitigation from their secondaries. Even if they did, there's ice (slows), psi (-recharge), and fire and elec (death).

my team had 2 stoners, dark brute, 2 kins, a rad, a thermal and a dark corr
When we did it we had no shivs or nukes.

That last mish was crazy. We had alot of team wipes on that last mish. Seems like those heros got a damage boost. Even Kronus seems to hit harder.

It deadens more of the impact of facing something +4 to you, which can help a bit, but yea. The impact of having the entire mission full of PToDs is what limits at least the Dominator in this mission.

When we did our run last night, we already had nukes stocked, so we used them as normal. The FP dropped in about 30 seconds. Statesman was already at 1/2 health by the time I managed to cast Fulcrum Shift. One level makes a *huge* difference.

I think Team Joe Average can now beat it pretty consistently without nukes but with shivans. Team Totally Gimp (no debuffs, no heals) probably still needs nukes, but even that might be up for debate.

I am very much looking forward to never rescuing another Warburg tech.

I saw a HUGE difference.

I actually was using my SS/INV to tank Manticore and Statesman, while the others were beating on Positron (target#3), and was successful at it. Normally that would have been a /stone Brute's job exclusively.

No nukes, 2 or 3 had Shivans. 3 team wipes if I remember correctly. But we rushed them (ran with 4 brutes). I think you could throw a Stalker in there. AS, run, hide, repeat. Seemed easier.

I'll have to try and put together a run with my group for the following weekend. I will be curious to see how the last mission goes now.

With my regular team, I am the main tank and I don't have any problems tanking any of the heroes with my SS/Inv including all at once.

of course stalkers can do it! we did it with 2 stalkers on friday in 1 hour and 10 minutes. last mission done in 2 minutes 9 seconds. we (AoV and Slayers Legacy) do the rsf in under 75 minutes each attempt with no wipes and rarely a death by anyone at all. we did this when they were level 54's as well. i dont see a difference in difficulty since i8 was released, mainly because the final mission is a wrap virtually as soon as we start it. seriously, we need harder task forces, not easier ones! game on!
