How do you know that you can't exemplar down to do this content like you can with the Ouro contact missions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really hope THAT is not the level 50 content.

  2. 1. I'm all in favor of the description, enemy list, and all that; but I don't think the recommended make-up is useful. It should just say how many friends you need.

    2. So, let TFs scale according to level? So, my level 50 can go do a Posi and everything will scale accordingly? Yes. I'm in favor of that.

    3. Why? Doesn't #2 obviate the need for this? Unless, you want to mix your groups beyond the 5 leve range without SKs. I'm not against the suggestion, but I don't understand it.

    4. I don't understand this one either. Would this just mean no one is SKed or Exed? If so, what is the benefit? I'm not against it, but I don't understand the purpose.

    5. This is not my favorite suggestion. I don't really want more hackneyed mechanics added to TFs and Trials. They have enough already with those wonky EoEs, the guns in the sewer trial, and so on. Challenge our heroes/villains based on what we have - don't make us pick up a widget to play.

    6. I don't understand this one. Is it just "Make them harder?"

    7. Do you mean change the number of required participants? I assume you mean *lower* it in all cases so that you can do the TF with less people. Can we add a slider for spawning while we're at it? I'd love to start a TF with 4 people and be able to tell it to spawn for 8. Letting me set my own difficulty level is very attractive.

    [ QUOTE ]
I agree, it is bad enough that the STF and LRSF are exclusive to certain builds, I would hate to implement any more prejudice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't understand how they are exclusive. My group completes the STF daily with all manner of heroes. We're not exclusive at all. The first 8 to sign up go and collect their prize. It's not a question of IF we win, it's a question of how long it takes. Name whatever crazy group you want and we've likely already done it with a few exceptions. All tanker and all scrapper runs haven't been done by us - yet.

As others have noted, for the love of all things reasonable, please shorten TFs. Most are completely unreasonable lengths and the "vision" of people playing across multiple play sessions is a total crock. TFs should be a maximum of 2 hours - that's a reasonable play session for many people. It's like scheduling to see a movie.

  3. So, this sounds great and all, but what exactly will there be for my level 50 to do? It sounds like maybe there might be a TF or Trial hidden in there somewhere. Anything else? I'm not reading much that sounds like it is really for level 50s.

  4. <QR>

I skimmed through most of the thread and just wanted to respond to some of the suggestions from the consolidated list.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Deflection and Insulation Shields:
Switch the Defense percentages between Dispersion Bubble and Insulation and Deflection Shields.

    Make them into PBAoE auras.

    Add +Recovery to Insulation Shield.

Prevent stacking from same characters on zoning and make them last 15 minutes or until zoning.

    Speed up the cast times.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I don't care for #2 because I hate crowds.

Making the shields last 15 minutes would probably cause me to weep with joy. If that trend spread to other defender powersets I would probably make one of every single defender set and enjoy the heck out of them.

The last suggestion is ok, but wouldn't it be better if they were just a PBAoE cast buff? You could do the whole team, and all those pets, in one convenient shot. I'd love it.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Dispersion Bubble:
Replace the sleep weakness with an immobilize weakness.

    Add +Recovery to all allies.

Increase the size to the same as Force Bubble, or switch their sizes.

    Add some defense debuff resistance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like the idea of increasing dispersions size. That would make it a lot easier to manage.

I also like the idea of adding debuff resistances, but I wouldn't mind if it were more than just defense too. That might even be a nice little niche if you could ward off a good chunk of debuffs. Although, doesn't dispersion already offer endurance drain resistance?

    [ QUOTE ]
    Detention Field:
Change to a timed toggle power so that it can be turned off at will but is forced off if left on too long.

Change the graphic to where its super super obvious that thing has been detained.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This suggestion is awesome because then you could make regular use of the power in a group. I'd really enjoy that added functionality for my bubbler. And, I think it goes without saying that the graphic needs to make it obvious a mob is detained.

I think a reflection field might be a fun thing for a FF. Some kind of area affect field that made it so that ranged attacks had a chance of being reflected back at the attacker or his allies. That would be a nice defensive maneuver with a little offensive fun.

  5. I still do the Eden trial. I stopped doing the sewer trial because it is just too painful. It's too hard to ask people to waste that kind of time, and bunny stomping it is just no fun whatsoever.

  6. I was the Inv/SS tanker that Spacio mentioned on the successful run above. From what I've seen so far:

    1. Taunt GW from range. She goes down easy that way.

    2. Tactics x2 or more is enormously helpful.

    3. Tanking LR is painful for a Inv/SS without unstoppable, eye of magus, or inspirations. Only after 2 towers were down was I able to survive between unstoppables.

    4. Crowd Control at the towers is critical. Doesn't matter how you accomplish it, but someone needs to keep those repairmen in check.

  7. I like it. It's a very simple and fun idea. You should definitely submit it.

  8. I'll have to try and put together a run with my group for the following weekend. I will be curious to see how the last mission goes now.

    [ QUOTE ]
Normally that would have been a /stone Brute's job exclusively.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With my regular team, I am the main tank and I don't have any problems tanking any of the heroes with my SS/Inv including all at once.

  9. So is there any kind of consensus on the impact of the level change? Can Team SubOptimal now skip the pets and missiles? Has anyone run it with Team Optimal? Protea, you have any opinions on it yet? I haven't gotten to run it with the new levels, but I'm hoping the challenge is still very much there.

  11. Statesman, your description of my role is not only disappointing, but shocking. I'll just let my thoughts trail off into the ether along with the time I've put into my "tanker."

In a painful attempt to remain positive, I guess my new role is to tank AV's (not psionic of course!) and absorb the alpha strike.

    Tanker Update

    [ QUOTE ]
But with the exception of the "taunt" on Invincibility, which is probably not a true taunt and just acts similar to one, the aggro generated by those is tiny. At level 43, with blazing aura with 1 slot acc, 5 slots, damage, I'm doing in the mid to upper 20s in damage every tick. The ticks go every half-second to second. Assuming the best, 29 damage per tcik, 2 ticks a second, I'm only doing 58 damage a second. I believe I can be outaggroed by a blaster using nothing but power push. It's certainly not enough to keep the enemies from turning their attention towards a blaster that's firing even half-rate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't aware those other ones had so little taunt value. I actually assumed they were the same since I vaguely recall the pbaoe taunt being added to invincibility as compensation for SS's lack of an AoE to generate agro. This was somewhere around the time provoke started accepting accuracy enhancements.

At any rate, if those have very small taunt values then they really do need to be increased. It's silly to think you could lay out 58 damage a second and not having the mob upset. I know I'd pay attention to that kind of damage and fast!

    Tanker Update

    [ QUOTE ]
As far as the Provoke on melee attacks for tankers, I think what would be better would be that one of their auras, like

    a) Blazing Aura

    b) Invincibility

    c) Icicles

    d) Mudpots

I think those should have the Provoke effect for those in range of it. INSTEAD of a PBAoE Taunt effect on all tanker attacks. What if you DON'T want to provoke everything?

    What do you think?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A. The dmg it does generates agro already.
    B. Already has a PBAOE taunt on it.
    C. Same as blazing aura. The dmg does generate some agro.
    D. Generates agro based on the debuff.

Looks like you already got what you want =)
